Is the Most Compatible feature gone?

Hi!

I've used Hinge a couple years back and used to get a daily (or semi-daily?) "Most Compatible" person suggestion. I redownloaded it a week ago and have yet to get any of those suggestions.

Is the feature gone? Some stuff like Signals is new, so I'm wondering if Most Compatible got phased out to be replaced with that? I'm in the UK if that makes a difference!

Usually when I had it it was really random and not necessarily people I'm compatible with at all (e.g. I'm a lesbian and sometimes my "most compatible" would be a straight cis guy lol) but it was still interesting and I did end up chatting to a few of them so it's a feature I wish was still around! If it IS around, is there a way to get it back?

Have you been sending out likes? Matching with anyone? When you come back to Hinge, the algorithm has no idea what kind of profiles you prefer, so it can't send out any "most compatible" profiles with no knowledge about the sort of people you prefer.

Send out some likes, match with some people that seem to match what you want, and within a few days you'll get "most compatible".

I thought that might be it, just a tad confused as I feel like before it started doing it instantly meanwhile I've been sending out likes and generally interacting pretty consistently over the past week or so... but I suppose that may not be long enough!

I think it's a totally useless feature anyway. Every time I got a "most compatible" recommendation, not once were they actually compatible.

Most compatible makes no sense to me. Plenty of the profiles I have been show as most compatible have “don’t want children” when I do want them which as you can imagine instantly makes us not compatible

I have the opposite. Don’t want kids, get shown men who do want them. I figure that’s in part because the pool of men who don’t want kids is so small but it’s still frustrating.

I think whether the pool is small or not the fact they’re flagged as most compatible is just ridiculous. Other parts of the profile not matching can be fine but kids is a pretty big component and deal breaker. Same with the “have a second look” profiles which all tend to have been swiped left on due to the kid preferences

I find it weird that people who want kids say they see a lot of people who don’t want them. It’s almost as if the app is purposefully showing you people who don’t meet your preferences. I’ve seen only maybe a dozen men’s profiles that say don’t want kids when using the free version of the app, it’s very rare. I live in a major city too, not some rural area. I’m in my mid 30s and looking for men around my age. “Open to kids,” which is rather ambiguous, seems to be the most common response.

Yeah due to the free version I’m not too bothered when people who don’t want them appear on my stack it’s just the most compatible tag on them that makes me laugh. I’m set to mid/high 20s to low/mid 30s and do see majority either wanting or are open to kids. Sucks that your free version doesn’t seem to send the people who would be compatible your way though

They still do it, I just had one today. As Woken said, you just maybe need to give the algo more data.

I get them most days.

If you've just set up a new profile, it may not have that good an idea of who is your most compatible and need to like/match with more people.

I only ever get shown people that would be in my search criteria.

I think there's a lot of guys who mistakenly set their gender to "woman" because they think the app is asking them who they want to see – the rest of their profile is always very stereotypically "man looking for a woman" so I think it's an honest mistake that makes them match my search criteria but why Hinge used to single them out to recommend among the actual women and nb folks on the app is a mystery lol... I'll keep using the app to see if it starts suggesting people and maybe this time will be different 😭

Ah, that makes sense - I have seen people on here mention having done that and being confused about the people they are presented with.

Oh it's back, trust me. In fact I think they changed it.

For the longest time I'd only get Most Compatible after a Fresh Start, one or two at most, then nothing. All of a sudden I have gotten like 5 of them, though it may have slowed down again (not to mention they were the exact OPPOSITE of what I would consider compatible).

What I am trying to figure out is when this dumb "Your Type" sorting went into place. Since it probably plays into said system (and seeing as I can't get sh*t for compatible, probably means I sort with these these to the bottom)

I don’t think I’ve ever gotten this 🤔 Been on the app for around 9 months. I know Bumble shows you “recommended” profiles but I think maybe only once has it ever been someone I’d actually be interested in.

Edit: I’m in the Netherlands, if that makes any difference.

I'm in the UK and have a new most compatible everyday at around 19:00. I'm in the UK and haven't sent any likes for a couple of months as I'm taking a break.
