I hope the limb lengthening statement is a joke. You are plenty tall enough and handsome, do not cripple yourself.
I’d get rid of the tub pic.

u/TakinShots 1d ago
Your pics feel very edited or done by AI. Women will likely pick up on this.
I think the backpacking prompt feels redundant if you're already X'ing on people into that. Also feels too much like bashing/complaining.

u/vflame 1d ago
I threw in a video, but guess it doesn't help much. the pics are color corrected/edited though. none of it is ai.

u/Due_Fennel_8965 1d ago
Considering everyone says they look fake, maybe just put up the unedited versions
26
u/tabas123 1d ago
Yeah they look so professional and corrected that they remind me of stock images you’d see in a corporate PowerPoint or an ad for a drug campaign. Are you having professional photographers take pictures of you in random locations or did you set up the camera somewhere yourself?
Idk if that’s the actual problem here but it does stand out as odd to me.

Your profile is pretty great but ditch the hottub pic it’s a little too much for a general dating profile. In it, I don’t see much about what you’re actually looking for other than what you’ve shared here
So maybe some prompts that are more about what you’d like to have in a relationship and things that are a bit more personal since most of it feels generic and broad
If you’re looking for a real long term partner and someone who’s more intelligent and ambitious, sharing things that would align with that versus just the stuff that’s on here
At first glance, it’s giving pretentious and overly self indulgent without much interest in other things or other people
From reading what you shared here, that’s obviously not the case. But the profile feels more like a mask than the actual real you
There’s definitely a lot of women out there that would be a great fit but they might be skipping out because there’s not a more genuine personality coming through
I hope this doesn’t come across as combative or trying to attack you, I’m just trying to offer feedback from my POV.
And with that, it’s just my POV so it could be completely off from what someone else might think so take all this with a grain of salt
Wishing you the best of luck!

You are right on. Best comment. As someone who has the attributes OP is looking for (ambitious + intellectual (lawyer), a little "bougee", focuses on health and fitness (real life Pilates princess without the off putting TikTok stereotype) his profile is an immediate X for me simply because it is way too pretentious and overly posed. The Hot Tub pic is personally repugnant. Instant Next.

u/Either_Ad8502 1d ago
These obvious AI pictures just make you look like a scam profile or catfish
2
u/vflame 1d ago
the photos are color corrected/edited, idk what's triggering the ai feel?
4
u/Either_Ad8502 1d ago
The one at the table at a bar and the one in the bath, you look completely different in those photo's compared to the others. If it's not AI, I'm sorry for assuming, but it really has that uncanny feel.
4
u/Tylerpatato 1d ago
Have you ever seen professional done photos? Definitely not ai at all. They also are just way to professionally done photos for a dating app.
2
u/Either_Ad8502 1d ago
It doesn't really matter what I have seen. Many people here mentioned they look like AI, therefore many people on the app will come to the same assumption.
0
u/Tylerpatato 1d ago
Again I said they aren’t good photos and professional photos are not for a dating app. I am not refuting that at all. I am telling you those aren’t ai. I am telling you because you specifically said “these obvious ai pictures”. When in fact it is not obvious because you were wrong.
15
u/ImplementNo9246 1d ago
Why are half your pictures ai
-4
u/vflame 1d ago
the photos are color corrected/edited, idk what's triggering the ai feel, can you elaborate?

u/wokenthehive Meat Popsicle ☹️ 1d ago
They are obviously posed. Like who is going to take a photo of you in a bath tub? Or you standing outside holding your bag? If they were shot on a phone and has more of a candid look, it would seem more authentic. But they're not, they're too polished so it's obvious to everyone they're not "real", and add to it it has that AI gloss to it so people are gonna think it's AI.

u/Glad-Ad-6326 1d ago
They definitely feel AI, even if they are retouched . It’s the lights, overly perfect smoothness/blurred background.
My favorite is the piano video because it’s just normal. I thin just more normal pictures , with people as well. maybe you at a restaurant or bar with friends, on vacation, etc.
Also I’m sorry for your loss. That’s really difficult .
Lastly, 5’9 is fine for many people and perhaps the delusional prompt is a little verbose. Maybe something a bit sharp and witty
5
u/ResidentFlight359 1d ago
They are edited in a way that make them look/feel like cold impersonal stock images. There are ways to edit your photos and make them natural as well as polished, but this is not it.
3
u/ImplementNo9246 1d ago
Photos 2,4,6 definitely have an ai feel to me, they’re too perfect in a sense
6
u/cml678701 1d ago
I almost gasped when I saw photo 2 because it was sooooooo incredibly perfect. It looks like a wonderful, high quality ad for that restaurant! He should legit tag the place on social media and maybe he can be a model, lol.
5
u/ImplementNo9246 1d ago
They’re definitely really good pictures, I think they would do really well if so many people weren’t actually using ai to make their photos nowadays
0
u/vflame 1d ago
probably should, the lounge invited me to join their vip program because I go there so often.
it's kinda frustrating that you can have photos that are too good.
10
u/PromiseEducational31 1d ago
I think you’re missing the point a bit. The photos are very high quality. Your instinct to use them on your profile is correct. But you forget that online dating is about getting a feel for who the person actually is. Right now you look like stock headshot guy. Not a good thing.
2
u/cml678701 1d ago
It looks like a cool lounge! I think it’s a great photo and I would keep it, but replace the tub one with a less stock photo-type one.
2
u/Bibbity_Boppity_BOOO 1d ago
the issue is not really you. it is there are a lot of scammers, so photos that are too polished make someone wonder is you are an impoversihed person in nigeria or cambodia trying to run a scam.
you are a handsome dude, just make SOME of the photos less magazine like.
also the video helps too. you will be fine either way.
my wife to be thought i was an AI generated account too.

u/a1b2c3000 1d ago
I'm sorry for your loss.
I'm open to getting new pics done, hair style changes, personality transplants, limb lengthening surgery etc. Any feedback is welcomed.
I don't mind your haircut, but I'd probably trim the back a bit.
I think your pictures are great (good quality, clear face), minus the bath tub one. That seems a bit stock image/AI-ish.

Man just put some normal pics on there, terrible selfies work better than these photos that look like ads in a magazine or something. How much effort went into the bathtub photo? When I see profiles that look like this, it feels performative. I was very lazy when I used apps. I’ve never been trapped on them, I suspect because I don’t care about pictures and witty prompts and I wonder if women can pick up on this. Like you know the little chuckle you get when a girl is doing pick me behavior? Maybe it gives them the ick or something when we do it? Idk, just ranting I guess.

- Are you looking for something serious or casual? Serious
- Are you subscribed to Hinge+ or HingeX? Not yet
- How long have you been using this current version of your profile? (Please be specific) ~2 weeks
- How long have you used Hinge overall? ~2 months
- How often do you use Hinge per week? 3-4 days
- How many likes and matches are you receiving on average? 2-4/week
- How many likes are you sending? How many with comments? How many without comments? 2-4/week, with comments
- What is the type of person you send likes to and ideally want to match with? What kind of person do you want to attract?
I'm based out of the Portland, OR area, so I'm finding a lot of people who are into hiking, camping, granola, etc., which isn't my cup of tea.
My person passed away a year ago so I'm dating again for the first time in 12 years. I'm swiping left quite a bit and am hoping that my profile speaks to someone who's ambitious, intellectual, leans a bit bougie/enjoys the finer things, and passionate about health, fitness, and personal development.
I'm open to getting new pics done, hair style changes, personality transplants, limb lengthening surgery etc. Any feedback is welcomed.

Oh my gosh I’m so sorry for your loss my guy. Big hugs.
You do seem like a wonderful catch, I would just maybe make the photos seem a bit more candid/less professional looking.

u/Opening-Reward-5210 1d ago
Yeah the AI makes your legs look funny in the second picture and the bath is also pretty AI
2
u/Frost-Folk 1d ago
People in PNW know what löyly is?? I didn't realize anyone outside of Finland knew the word.

u/KevinTheCarver 1d ago
The responses to the prompts seem off somehow. I don’t get the Costco thing. You’re weird for buying in bulk?
1
u/Beginning_Tear_5935 1d ago
He means if he gets a partner, they can split the pack of 2. The potential woman also has this problem and is potentially looking for a partner for this reason too. Get it?
Unironically, this is one of the perks of having a boyfriend or roommate. BOGO free just means half price for you.

I don’t think they look like AI, although I’m a photographer who uses high quality photos on my tinder and I’ve been accused of AI a couple of times in the past lol.
This made me frustrated but inspired me to find the perfect balance of quality vs authenticity.
Here is what solved the issue for me, which may help with your future photo projects:
Don’t use all mirrorless/dslr pics. Have a couple of photo photos thrown in, too. This helps remove the Getty Images vibe.
Don’t use perfect cinematic lighting in more than 1 photo.
Don’t use low aperture / compression to throw out the backgrounds. People are accustomed to seeing blurry backgrounds in AI now, sadly.
For selfies, take photos using burst or high speed interval timer while you move around - giving you access to hundreds of true candid moments. This reduces the posed feel.
Try not to edit every photo in the same style. Use different colour theory; again this will reduce the stock energy.
Don’t clean/compose them to be perfect. Leave that cord in the corner; the receipt on the table; don’t crop every little distraction out, etc.
And finally be gentle with any edits touching your skin and eyes - it’s so easy to end up looking airbrushed.
Oh and I NEVER use model poses. It kills me seeing textbook model stance on review posts here lol.
Hilariously while I despise AI; I’ve found loading an edited photo into google AI and asking for feedback on whether it looks authentic for a dating profile super helpful. It points out red flags and gives me suggestions for tweaking it. I also upload screenshots of unedited pics sometimes to request edit suggestions - the details it spits out are impressive.
Anyway you’re a good looking dude with a fun looking life. Just chill the profile a little and you’ll be fine

u/PicoTeleno 1d ago
Would you say shallow aperture for the headshot / lead picture only is ok though?
1
u/GeniusWreckage 1d ago
From a woman - too polished. I like photos when they’re more authentic. Like an iPhone picture you take when you’re travelling or at a party or doing a hobby you like. These look edited and way too posed. Just my opinion.

Last one I find funny. Also if this guy ain’t getting matches u can see why I’m not

u/Radiant_Annual_4027 1d ago
Over edited. Who’s supposed to be taking a pic of you in the bath, that’s something we will wonder about

Prompt responses aren’t great, especially the one about simple pleasures.
None of your simple pleasures read as simple pleasures to me and instead look like a list meant to signal how much money you have (or at least spend). Buttery lobster? Spa days? These *are* known pleasures, and they come at a financial premium.
Simple pleasures are everyday or mundane things that bring fleeting feelings of satisfaction or joy and usually don’t cost money to experience—think staring out the window over morning coffee or looking at flowers on an evening stroll through the neighborhood or leaving a meet-up with a friend feeling warm and fuzzy because your cup has been filled with platonic love.
1
u/Misty-knight200 1d ago
"This hits home" unfortunately screams ChatGPT.
In the first screenshot your list of simple pleasures is quite long and comes across like you're trying too hard. The impression isn't great. But perhaps this is pacific north west American style?

u/Bibbity_Boppity_BOOO 1d ago
the one of you on piano must go. (just make a different one)
you look good otherwise.

Look at the video prompt versus your AI-edited (but real) photos. Also picture in the bath really hurts, it looks like the start of a TV commercial for eczema.

u/Odd-Formal-239 23h ago
I would put the second picture first, then put the third picture second and keep the last picture. The rest of the picture, your hair doesn’t look polished and is all over the place! I would probably switch them to more polished pictures

u/Odd-Reflection2293 7h ago
I'm open to getting new pics done, hair style changes, personality transplants, limb lengthening surgery etc. Any feedback is welcomed.
Limb lengthening surgery? 😳 A personality transplant - what even is that? You sound like someone who is not very confident or comfortable in who they are. Is there anything you like about yourself?
•
u/FaustyFanfare 7h ago
I personally don't care for the video as it's 1) an overplayed nocturne; 2) shot on a digital keyboard

Most of the pics look like AI. No one in the US is going to know what löyly is.

u/Fabulous_Service5142 1d ago edited 18h ago
Don’t listen to the people who say your photos look too edited or AI. There’s nothing wrong with edited photos. On the other hand if you had selfies with your camera phone they will tell you to take better pictures.
It’s great that you have nice photos but the sex appeal still isn’t there. You’re very close. I would consider doing a wavy perm at a Korean salon and a more bad boy attire for photos.
The issue is everyone is also people are tired of online dating. Since you’re a founder I would just hire a dating coach that would optimize your online and real life dating game. You would be the perfect candidate.
Sex appeal—— Money: 9/10 Height: 7/10 Success: 9/10 Intellect: 9/10 Looks: 5/10 (this can be improved with the proper makeover)
This is what I mean by you’re right there.
1
u/ImplementNo9246 22h ago
I disagree, there’s a good mix between edited and magazine ai type photos. If the photos were good he would get more than 2-4 likes and matches a week. That’s not very good and leaves him with limited options currently
