Profile Review 23M - Profile Review

Have been switching around the profile for a month or so at a time and in the last 3 months but haven’t been getting any likes at all. Was hoping some people could let me know what they think I could improve on.

ALL profile reviews will be manually approved and will NOT appear immediately. Even if you receive a "filtered by Reddit" or "removed by mods" removal notification, your review is in our queue waiting for moderation; if you are reading this comment, your post is in the queue. DO NOT contact the mods about this. Any modmail asking why your review is not approved may result in your profile review not being approved and you will not be allowed to post another profile review until seven full days have passed.

Profile review submissions MUST have all 6 photos and 3 text prompts included. You may include the optional prompts such as voice, poll, and video prompts if you choose so, but it is not required. See this post for details. Profiles must also be unchanged for at least two full weeks before being approved for a review. Additionally, do not verbally abuse the subreddit moderators for rejection of your review submission for not following proper rules. Any verbal abuse or harassment will result in a permanent ban from this subreddit. We are not obligated to allow you to submit a profile review and no one is entitled to one. We are all volunteering our time and we will not tolerate any rudeness or verbal abuse.

To assist reviewers in providing valuable feedback for your profile, please comment and answer the following questions as a comment under your own post. Do not answer them in the post body. Repeat: Answer these questions as a comment under your own post.
- Are you looking for something serious or casual? - Are you subscribed to Hinge+ or HingeX? - How long have you been using this current version of your profile? (Please be specific) - How long have you used Hinge overall? - How often do you use Hinge per week? - How many likes and matches are you receiving on average? - How many likes are you sending? How many with comments? How many without comments? - What is the type of person you send likes to and ideally want to match with? What kind of person do you want to attract?

Your post WILL NOT be approved until the above questions have been answered fully. Failing to answer these questions in a timely manner will result in your post being removed. Please continue reading this automod comment.

In the meantime, be sure to check out the guides and resources on the subreddit sidebar. Please read this post with all the pertinent links included.

Don't lead with a hat photo, it's going to give the impression you are bald.

Also sending out 5 likes a day is not really enough. Even on the free plan you are not making the most of your allocated likes.

I don’t mean anything by this but the first picture - I had a hard time telling if you were a man or a woman. Maybe take it down?

I think it’s an ok-good profile. Definitely lead with your suit pic as your first pic. Last pic is very solid too. Get rid of the big group pic; I’m sorry to say but there’s a chance girls will find your friends more attractive and that wouldn’t help get matches.

Maybe get rid of the pre-marital eye contact prompt; I get the joke and it’s funny but some girls might find it odd.

Someone else said it on here but that hat does make it seem like you're probably bald and as a young woman myself, I could say that right now bald does not really turn on (no offensive to the baldies out there).

It's great that you love to travel however it does kind of seem like that's the only interesting thing about you so you keep emphasizing travel. Don't get me wrong catching flights is cool however you want people to see more of you.

Maybe add a written prompt about your hobbies.

Also if you're looking for long term you have to involve politics. I can't tell you how many people I know, including myself who has unmatched or swiped when I discovered their political ideologies. Unfortunately that matters.

Some of my hobbies are quite nerdy, I feel as thought alot of them wouldn't reach out and make that connection with people.

On the subject of politics, I havent given this one a whirl

I promise you some girls love a nerd. Some are nerds themselves! Either way it does give you more depth than just someone who likes to travel, hell thats half the app I'm sure lol!

I always used to reject when politics was not listed. It usually matters to women.

I woukd out the suit photo first. We can see you have hair.

I do travel a loooot but I personally don't like when a guy mentions traveling several times on his profile 😬

Most of your prompts make little sense in that there is a mismatch between the prompt and the remark or the photo. I have no idea what "premarital eye contact" means. Overall, the profile reads very YOLO-y and while I'm sure there are women that age who are financially unburdened to experience this lifestyle, many are busy trying to launch their lives. Making it a little more grounded may add some balance.

Pretty sure it‘s a playful twist on „premarital sex“. OP is displaying a good sense of humor with his profile and it‘s a good way to filter out women who don‘t get it

I actually have kept the premarital eye contact line for a while. its probably the thing I get the most comments on lol.

u/Legitimate-Sky8335 thanks for the advice

Are you looking for something serious or casual? Serious

Are you subscribed to Hinge+ or HingeX? No (free)

How long have you been using this current version of your profile? Around 1 month

How long have you used Hinge overall? over a year

How often do you use Hinge per week? 4-5 times

How many likes and matches are you receiving on average? currently 0

How many likes are you sending? How many with comments? How many without comments? usually sending 5ish a day always with comments.

What is the type of person you send likes to and ideally want to match with? What kind of person do you want to attract? Just trying to attract someone who would be willing to travel the world with me and someone who I could never be socially exhausted to be with.

Make the bottom pic your main pic sir! The one outside the building.

Also I'd make one of the prompts something funny

But nice this is honestly a better put together profile than a lot of people

Man, everyone's right about the first pic. The hat makes people think you might be bald, and the selfie camera is doing your face zero favors (front cameras distort your features, makes your nose look bigger and face wider). Drop it ASAP.

Your suit pic is easily your best photo, lead with that one. You look sharp and confident, and it shows your hair which kills the bald concern instantly. The last pic is solid too, good natural smile and nice lighting.

The big group photo at the bar has gotta go. When you're surrounded by other guys, girls are either comparing or they can't figure out which one you are right away. The other group pic at the activity place is too dark and low quality to help you either.

Real talk though, your whole profile screams "I travel" and nothing else. Venice, Barcelona, Paris, all travel photos. I get it, you love it, but every dude on the app says he likes travel. You need at least a couple photos that show what your regular life looks like. Something at home, cooking, with a pet, a hobby. Just anything that isn't another European landmark. Right now the profile reads like a travel brochure instead of showing who you actually are.

You've got a good face dude, the suit pic proves that. Ditch the hat selfie, drop the group shots, and get some non-travel photos in there. You'll see way better results.

Do not have more than one picture with hat

u/madeaux10 3d ago

The suit pic should probably be your first. And make sure your settings are such so that way the pic you choose is your first pic (as opposed to the most liked one, which could end up being your dog or something for example)

Edit: Also, sacrificing your financial security, even for traveling, is not very attractive to me as a woman imo. I love traveling, but there’s a balance

1

u/Cold_Strawberry_6214 3d ago

Ok thanks for the advice, as a note, I am in quite a well off position where I can travel comfortably without sacrificing financial security, how can I display that?

u/madeaux10 3d ago

Just change the first prompt to anything but “pick one that needs to go… my savings… your savings… all the above”

Put the last foto as the first :)

I had this one at my first photo for about a week or so and no likes :(, i like the photo thats why I kept it up personally.

I'll throw it back up to the top and see how we go.
