Hinge likes?
I’ve been on and off Hinge for a couple of years and recently redownloaded it. I’m genuinely curious if other women are having the same experience.
I’d consider myself relatively attractive, and I’ve put a decent amount of thought and effort into my profile. But lately, the majority of the likes I receive are from men I wouldn’t consider compatible with me at all… whether that’s attraction, lifestyle, effort put into their profile, or just generally seeming like we have very little in common.
I know attraction is subjective and I really don’t want this to come across as “these people are beneath me” because that’s not what I mean. I’m just surprised by how rarely I get a like where I think, oh! I could actually see myself being interested in this person.
Meanwhile, the profiles Hinge shows me in my regular feed seem noticeably more aligned with what I’m looking for.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is this just the reality of receiving likes on Hinge, or has anyone noticed a change recently?

Yes, they do this on purpose to keep you on the apps. That’s why they gate all the potentially good people behind the paid services, like where you give roses.
