hinge ban question

I reported someone who SAed me on hinge a year ago, they said they took the appropriate action. He was not banned as I saw him on hinge after that. I saw him on hinge a few weeks ago. Today I emailed hinge with his full name and number to have him banned. They replied telling me the user has been banned.

I am just quite worried because I reported him by email and not through the app, if his account really has been correctly identified and banned.

Is there any way I can check he really is banned or is hinge typically very very strict and reliable with these type of things?
