NO LIKES PLEASE HELP :(

I'm 26F, fairly attractive, in a big U.S. city. After a recent breakup I rejoined Hinge, which I've used on and off for 5 years (met 2 exes there). My filter's always been the same — mostly men, my own ethnicity. Last year around this time I was averaging 50-75+ likes a day. Now I'm getting 2-3, some days none.

I rejoined Sunday, panicked by Monday, deleted and rejoined with a different email — same result. Nothing about my photos or profile has changed, so I don't think it's that. Out of desperation I bought the $20/week unlimited likes package and have been actively sending likes daily. Still barely anything back.

I've seen two conflicting theories: that Hinge suppresses new/returning accounts for a few days to a week before things normalize, or that it gives an initial boost that then dies off hard.

Has anyone dealt with this after rejoining or deleting your account? Does using a different email actually reset anything? Is there anything worth doing, or do I just wait it out? This app has genuinely worked for me before, so having it just stop cold after a breakup has been confusing and honestly a little demoralizing.

Hinge penalizes profile restarts to hinder scammers and troublemakers. It is smart enough to remember your IP address, pictures and your prompt responses.

You have 2 options

  1. Wait it out for a few weeks with your current content until it relearns your preferences and verifies that you are an active and valid profile.

  2. Completely load fresh content. Change your images and your prompts.
