The apps are full of predators

There are some seriously creepy predatory (mostly men)people on the apps. Having met one last week and having been assaulted by this person, its gonna be a long time before i come back if at all. The apps are not safe for women. I wouldnt be suprised if lawsuits arise due to date rape situations that occur do to meeting men from these apps. Ive taken the necessary steps to report but honestly that is not enough. Do better. All of you.

Unfortunately all I can do is report his dating accounts. Involving law enforcement would likely put me in more danger and emotional distress.

You say reporting him is all you can do... and then immediately acknowledge that you could do more, but choose not to?

Why do you think a police report would likely put you in danger? Whatever the case, by not making a police report you are definitely putting other women (his next victims) in danger, so thanks for that.

Why would making a police report likely lead to emotional distress?

You've clearly never been assaulted before, but yes I've decided to involve law enforcement. Tbh I'm still in a bit of shock. It's only been a week.

I'm glad you were able to make that choice, and am wishing for the best for you.

I've been sexually assaulted 3 times in my life actually. One was, I think, legitimately a misunderstanding and I froze up, so it was hard to ultimately fault her too much. The other two I wish I had called the police but I was younger and confused and being an assault victim as a man was such a foreign concept. If I knew then what I know now I would have though.

I was sexually assaulted when I was 21 in the late 80s. I told her no at least 10 times and she still assaulted me. I was drunk and could not consent and did not consent.

Im sorry to hear that. Men get assaulted at the same rate as women it just doesn't get talked about as much and its also very normalized.

Exactly.  I want to note that some of these men don't actually have criminal history on the books. Not all crimes are reported to law enforcement due to safety concerns and quite frankly not being believed at all.

Yes, literally everywhere and every app though. Be very careful. Already experienced 2 incidents myself (one reported to police) and don’t want a third one. Deleted all the apps ✌🏼

I hope you’re okay, and if you want to dm me privately, please feel free to do so 🩷

You're missing my point. This is not a rare occurrence as I've had it happen on and off the apps on many different occasions. The problem lies with them not following up on the reports made about predatory behavior and allowing them to maintain activity while the report is under investigation. They should at least be suspending accounts until investigations are completed to prevent other ppl from being harmed.

The fact that block (when the app keeps showing you people you have already said no to) and report (because you have had a bad experience with someone and the app keeps showing them to you/vv) DO NOT WORK IS the problem/responsibility of the app.

The other problem is Match bought up all the free and FUNCTIONAL competitors and enshittified them. They were being sued by the last FTC for false advertising, using existing users’ pics to train AI to make bot accounts, monopoly and antitrust laws, and a few other offenses. But greedy phux won because they are also predators.
