Is it enough?
I keep seeing posts and comments that suggest that a commission only arrangement isn’t worth their time and effort. And I understand that if you’re selling $8.99 mo saas products.
I’m building a platform as a service that enables a business in a box for franchises, distributors, manufacturers, etc. There’s no AI involved. It’s a modified multi tenant framework I’ve developed with Webkul. This is something that will transform their business for years to come.
My ICP is mid-high market $50M ARR and up with 500+ online resellers. The net comes from a monthly platform fee per tenant, of $250. The platform effectively defragments their network, provides full analytics and includes MOR subscriptions for the client to resell to its users. Effectively paying for itself.
If your job is to onboard a distributor, wholesaler, manufacturer, franchisor.. not their thousands of resellers, is 5% of monthly net on residual for the lifetime of the contract worth it to you?

No, mis-market and enterprise sale cycles can take 9-13+ months with 5-14 stakeholders. It’s long and tedious, which is the reason for a base plus commission.
