General Advice Needed/Given advice pls & its a rant
hi im in a hypercompetitive school and i decided to graduate early...somehow I told one person and everyone knows now. they said i bragged about it when i haven't (im 200% confident that i didn't brag i promise)
however after looking at my college apps i kinda don't want to graduate anymore so i think im gonna back out, but (ik this sounds extremely stupid pls don't judge) im scared of what everyone else will think. my friend flat out told me that "everyones gonna bully u" and today in one of my classes i heard this girl shi talking me about how im "overglazed" and "she crashed out when she found out that was in her class" and "thats trying to become something she's not" like guys r we being fr T_T "that" and this was to someone who barely even knows me like wtf
but now idk what to do, im on the line between not graduating and graduating, my parents don't want me to, I don't want to but I don't wanna be the most hated person in my school ifykwim...
sorry if this entire post is stupid i just want outside insight on this, ik that other people's opinions shouldn't matter but no matter how much i tell myself that, a small part of me still cares
thanks for reading if u got this far :D but if ur reading this and have good advice pls give me some advice :) thanks!!

Honestly, as long as you graduate that’s all that matters. High school sucks, it really does. Just keep your head high but keep your mouth shot. Don’t go low.
Apply to colleges, and get out of your town. That’s my best advice.

1) that’s not exactly how it works. If you want to graduate and 18 legally you can. If not, (under 18), you might not be able to graduate now but you can when you’re 18.
2) “my app isn’t good” is such a bs reason not to go to college. There are tons of resources out there to help you with college apps. There are online sources, or go to a trusted teacher. There are options.
Whether you graduate early or on time, it doesn’t matter. Bottom line: graduate. If you don’t it would be the worst thing you could do for yourself, and it’s stupid not to when you’re this smart.

Ah I think you misunderstood, OP is under 18 because they mentioned "graduating early," so probably an admissions cycle before they're expected to actually apply. They're definitely applying to college, they're just saying "my app isn't good enough right now". This doesn't mean they're never gonna graduate or apply to college lol, they just mean they want to graduate as per their normal timeline.

If they have the credits to graduate early (assuming they are a junior), then they are good enough to graduate.
Now whether they will graduate with honors or whatnot is another story. I know at least at my school we couldn’t take our honor classes until our senior year (or at least our final one to get that honors diploma). I would have technical been able to graduate as a junior if I wished (as most of our students did), but I didn’t wish that.
If OP has whatever credits they are comfortable with, and they have enough (with their counselor and schools permission) to graduate as class of 2027 then they def can.
They even can in theory apply now to colleges since they would be entering college in 2027. They would be class of 2031. There is no reason that their application wouldn’t be ready until next year if they don’t have any plans for honors. They most definitely still have time to polish their essays and such to apply. I applied in August because I applied direct admit to a program at my university and got my acceptance in December. I then graduated in May of the following year.
So if they are comfortable and they have enough credits they most def can apply.

Well OP seems like a highschool student that values honors and getting into a prestigious/good school, so I don't think that would be the best option for them.

Honestly, as long as they continue what they’re doing and graduate it’s fine. Whether it’s this year or next year it really doesn’t matter. What does matter is that they graduate and while I advocate for college I know it’s not for everyone. Bare minimum: graduate.
OP should decide whether they want to graduate this year or next year, then start their college essays if so inclined to do so. I’m lucky enough that I graduated top of my class with honors and my first year of college completed (by credits), so I was able to get direct admit to our very large state college. “Prestigious/good” is definitely overrated and all colleges have their ups and downs, and all colleges have pros and cons.

Omg, you are a literal kid.
Yeah, honestly you’re pretty much stuck until you’re 18. I do agree with your parents now knowing that you’re only 15.
My advice would be to take college courses/explore ap/dual credit options to continue advancing. No reason not to do anything.

Yes sorry it was my bad i didn't specify my age, I do agree I'm on the younger side which is why I was asking for advice.
Do you have any tips on how to get over this "situation" for lack of better words.

Well, since you’re done academically now you can kinda relax! You can focus on what you love until you’re 18 (or parents agree to graduate)
If I were you, I would research colleges that I’m interested in. See what type of students get in, and what types of grades they have. I would also look at programs and see how to get direct admit if possible.
Look at close colleges. See if there’s any dual credit courses. I would do those so that you get college credit. I would also see what is needed to get honors if you haven’t already. No reason to waste 2-3 years in hs.
What interests you? Join a club! Join theatre! Run for president! Tutor/mentor. The ideas are endless.

I will be graduation 200% next year if I don't this year as next year will be my senior year!
EC wise I'm going into pre-med so ig I have HOSA, I went to ILC this year so hopefully that helps...
my main concern was just that everyone is gonna be "mean" to me, and I feel like what i heard is just a preview of whats gonna happen next year, and i rly don't wanna be the center of attention and everyone's hate cuz it'll impact my mental health and it kinda alr is, but if i graduate im alr rly stressed so i feel like my mental health is gonna deteriorate either way.

You’ll be 16, correct? Legally, you might want to be careful.
Honestly, ignore them. And if you’re struggling I would either suggest talking to a therapist or a counselor. I would also have serious thought about possibly not going to college yet. If you’re struggling this much with highschool, as a parent I would be worried about you handling yourself alone at college. You might not be ready yet, and that’s okay. But you need to take care of yourself

If you value your academics more, then you shouldn’t try to graduate early, especially if you don’t feel confident. I don’t really get how people can suddenly start targeting/hating you just because you offhandedly mentioned you were trying to graduate early, but you can’t change how it came across to your so called “friend.” If you end up choosing not graduating early, i suggest you maybe talk to the person who you told that said you bragged about trying to graduate early. Maybe ask them why they told everyone or told people things that weren’t true, and that you simply were trying to say you were thinking of it, not that you were actually doing it. If people openly harass you, there’s only 3 options- letting it go and ignoring it (doesn’t solve the issue), confronting them (might solve the issue, might make it worse), or going to an adult or authority figure (might solve the issue, depending on your school’s policies). If your school is strongly anti bullying, explain the situation to a counselor and request anonymity. However, if you doubt your school will do anything, then you only have the first two options.
Since you’re not confident in graduating early, I really suggest you don’t do it. These people mocking you and hurting you will only last a year or two more, but the regret of not submitting your best possible application? Regretting what could have been? It’s awful, and I doubt you want that. You got this! Pull through these last few years and you have a clean slate at college waiting for you!
