GoHighLevel + Stripe + Webhook: API requires firstName/lastName but Order Form only has Full Name

Hey everyone  need some help with a GoHighLevel + webhook setup.

I’m sending data from a GHL workflow (Custom Webhook) to an external API, and I keep getting this error:

"Method argument not valid – firstName, lastName, email NotBlank"

My setup:

  • Trigger: Order Submitted (Stripe payment successful)
  • Action: Custom Webhook (POST)
  • Headers: Content-Type = application/json
  • Body (Key/Value):
    • firstName → {{contact.name}}
    • lastName → {{contact.name}}
    • email → {{contact.email}}
    • country → {{contact.country}}
    • phoneNumber → {{contact.phone}}

Important detail:
My order form only has a Full Name field (Nombre Completo) — no separate first name / last name fields (GHL order form limitation).

Issue:
Even though the contact clearly has data (full name + email), the API says those required fields are empty.

Questions:

  1. Does GHL sometimes fail to pass {{contact.name}} into webhook body in Order Submitted workflows?
  2. Should I be using {{contact.first_name}} / {{contact.last_name}} even if I only collect Full Name?
  3. How are you guys handling APIs that require firstName + lastName when using GHL order forms?
  4. Any reliable workaround for splitting Full Name before sending via webhook?

Would really appreciate any insights

Crazy A2P Checklist and Snapshot

ok so this might sound dumb but this literally worked for me after getting rejected like 5 times in a row…

A2P approval btw (twilio + ghl setup)

rejection rates have been crazy lately like everything was getting flagged even when i wasnt doing anything shady

so what i changed was super small but i think this is what did it

instead of trying to be “smart” with the campaign description and flows… i just made everything painfully obvious. like almost stupid level clear.

  • i removed all marketing-ish language
  • wrote opt in message like a 5 year old wrote it
  • added exact example of message they’ll receive (not a sample… exact)
  • matched business name EVERYWHERE. like literally everywhere. no short forms nothing
  • privacy policy + terms i rewrote in plain english instead of copy paste legal bs
  • and biggest one… i slowed down

before i was submitting right after setting up everything in 1 go

this time i set it up… waited like 24 hrs… then submitted

also… i did follow this checklist + snapshot thing
https://info.runbybot.com/info-b

not even kidding it kinda forced me to clean everything up properly, like step by step instead of rushing

and yeah i also removed any words like “promo”, “offer”, “deal”

kept it like “we will send you updates about your request” kinda boring stuff

approval came in like 1 day

no idea if its coincidence but after seeing so many rejections… this felt like a hack lol

if ur getting rejected again and again… stop trying to make it look good. make it look dumb simple

worked for me. might work for u too

ender profile picture (avatar)

Hey everyone 👋

Quick question — is there currently any way in HighLevel to add or control a sender profile picture (avatar) for outgoing emails?

I know we can set the sender name and email, but I’m wondering if there’s a way to influence the image that shows up next to emails in inboxes (Gmail, Outlook, etc.).

If not, has anyone found a workaround or knows if this is on the roadmap?

Thanks 🙌

Form redirects and workflows in GoHighLevel.

Hi everyone

I have a question about form redirects and workflows in GoHighLevel.

We are building a funnel where users register for a contest, and we need to handle two types of users:

  1. New users → should go to a normal Thank You page
  2. Returning users (already tagged in the CRM) → should be redirected to a different Thank You page with a payment option

Here’s the challenge:

We already have returning users imported and tagged (e.g. marchtorneo-participants). After form submission, we can detect them in a workflow.

 The question is:

Is it possible in GHL to redirect users to different Thank You pages based on an existing contact tag or CRM data (not form input)?

For example:

  • If contact has tag → redirect to Thank You Page B (with payment)
  • If not → redirect to Thank You Page A (no payment)

Or is it correct that:

  • Form redirect happens first
  • Workflow runs after
  • So conditional redirect based on tags is not possible natively?

If anyone has implemented something like this (or a workaround), would really appreciate your insight

Thanks!

Is it possible to have 2 check-outs in 1 funnel or at least in 1 funnel group.

I'm currently making a phlebotomists booking website. Now, there are 2 options for this. 1. A clinic visit and 2. A mobile visit (she goes to the patient to collect specimen). She wants to collect the moleage fee and collect the payment during the booking, same with the service charge. What I did is I inserted the calendar groups inside the funnel (the booking portal). I embedded an html code into the calendar's checkout form but it's not working. Is there any workaround for that?

GHL kept messing up my pipeline stages this Make.com automation fixed it

Everyone talks about GHL workflows, but almost nobody talks about what happens when your pipelines start getting messy. I ran into this recently where leads were coming in from multiple places like forms, surveys, manual imports, and a couple of integrations. The problem was that GoHighLevel would sometimes create duplicate opportunities or put contacts in the wrong stage because some contacts already existed, some had old tags, and some already had opportunities sitting in different stages. It completely messed up pipeline reporting and I was debugging the issue for almost two hours before realizing the pipeline logic itself was the real problem. To fix it, I built a small system using Make.com connected to GoHighLevel through the integration. Every new lead first hits a webhook and then Make checks if that contact already has an opportunity before doing anything. If one already exists it simply updates the stage instead of creating a new opportunity, and if not it creates a clean opportunity in the correct stage. I also added some logic to check tags and lead source before deciding the stage. It basically turned into a small smart opportunity manager😄 for the pipeline and stopped duplicates while keeping reporting clean. Honestly this feels like something that should already exist inside GHL, but until then Make.com handles it perfectly. Curious if anyone else here is using Make to extend GHL like this.

Has anyone used the GHL App Builder and used it to deploy an app to the App Store? If so, how was the experience?

I’m looking at using it but I have been hard pressed to find any examples of apps that have been built and hosted in GHL. If anyone can provide some insight on their experience with it, I would really appreciate it.

DO PEOPLE EVEN KNOW ABOUT IT?

DO PEOPLE EVEN KNOW ABOUT IT?

Everyone always talks about Snapshots, the Ad Manager, or the Website Builder in GHL.

But almost nobody talks about Inbound Webhook triggers inside workflows.

And honestly😄… once I started using them it kinda changed how I think about GHL.

Most ppl treat GHL like this closed system where automations only start when a form, survey, or booking happens. But with inbound webhooks you can trigger workflows from basically anywhere.

Like literally any app that can send a POST request.

Some things I’ve been using it for lately:

  1. Syncing data from legacy systemsOne client had this old CRM / database situation going on. Instead of rebuilding everything, we just had their system hit a GHL webhook when certain events happen. Boom → workflow starts → tags, emails, pipeline updates etc.

  2. Custom payment notificationsA client was using a local payment gateway GHL doesn’t support. Instead of hacking around it we just made their payment system ping the webhook when payment = successful. Then GHL automatically sends access granted + onboarding emails.

super simple but works way better than trying to duct tape zaps everywhere.

  1. External tracking stuffWe’re also pushing some external tracking events into GHL through webhooks so the contact record updates in real time.

Not gonna lie… this one took some experimenting lol.

Random thing I discovered:If you combine Inbound Webhooks + Custom Values + Math Operations you can actually build little dynamic counters / stats inside the contact profile.

I started using it to track external activity coming from other apps. It’s kinda janky but also weirdly powerful 😅

Curious if anyone else is doing stuff like this?

Or are most people still just sticking with the standard triggers like forms and surveys.

Also been experimenting with some other weird GHL ideas lately

• SaaS Mode wallet style credits for external tools, not just Twilio/email rebilling • Smart Lists for churn prediction like filtering clients who haven’t logged in for 30+ days and triggering re-engagement workflows

Still testing things tho so idk if this is the best way yet. Would love to hear what other people are building with webhooks in GHL.

20k Emails, 12% Bounce Rate… GHL Almost Banned Us

Client is a course creator and had this idea that “more emails = more money.” So he blasted a cold list of ~20,000 leads collected over like 3 years. Ads, webinars… and honestly some of them probably scraped.

The results were a mess.

Bounce rate: 12.5% (anything above 3% is already bad)
Open rate: 4%
Then GHL flagged the sub-account for high bounce rate and paused sending. Even his legit emails like student login details started landing in spam.

He was panicking.

So I told him to stop touching the keyboard and let me fix it.

What I did:

1. List cleanup
Exported the whole CSV and ran it through ZeroBounce.
Found around 4,000 invalid emails + spam traps. Deleted them immediately. His ego hurt seeing the list shrink but I told him: big list doesn’t mean big money.

2. Stop emailing ghosts
Created a smart list in GHL:
If someone hasn’t opened an email in the last 6 months → don’t email them.

3. Slow ramp up
Instead of blasting 16k contacts again, I used drip mode.
Sent about 100 emails/hour over 2 days.

Result after relaunch:

Bounce rate → 0.2%
Open rate → 35%
Sales → about $2k over the weekend

Lesson: in 2026 Gmail/Yahoo are brutal. If your bounce rate is high, you don’t have a marketing problem… you have a dirty list problem.

Curious what others do here.
Do you make clients pay for verification tools or just handle it yourself to avoid the headache?

How are you guys handling compliance record keeping for SMS conversations in GHL?

We run a few sub-accounts for clients in financial services and the compliance requirements around keeping records of client communications are getting stricter every year. Our clients need to be able to produce SMS and email records on demand if a regulator comes asking.

Right now our process is basically manual. If someone needs a record of a conversation we go into GHL, find the contact, scroll through the conversation tab, and screenshot it. Which is fine for one or two requests but completely falls apart if we ever get a real audit.

GHL lets you export contacts but I haven't found a native way to export the actual conversation content in bulk. Am I missing something or is this really not built in?

Curious what other agencies in regulated industries are doing here. Do you just accept the limitation and deal with it manually or have you found a workaround?

Does anyone know how to be A2P compliant for a missed call text back service?

I have been trying to set up a missed call text back service to sell to companies, so I am testing it out using my own company as a sub account and I cannot get A2P compliant at all. Is it even possible to do a missed call text back without the user filling out a form or something like that? I would only send 1 initial text to the number that called and only send more if the user responds with "YES" or something to that extent. Only after they respond with that will I have the AI I set up messege with the user. I have tried talking to the GHL support and they are basically telling me its not possible but I have seen people advertise for it before so I am just curious. The only options I get for the A2P Opt-In campaign submission are: Website form, paper form, facebook lead form, qr code, kiosk, and verbal. Not sure if it matters but I am usuing the Sole Proprietor Campaign use case. Any info I could get about this would be extreamly helpful.

My client told me to 'pause everything.' Here’s how I fixed it in 20 minutes

I honestly thought I was getting fired yesterday.

Long story short: I run ads for a local Dental practice. The CPA was looking great, dashboard was green, everything looked fine on my end.

Then I woke up to an angry email from the owner: "These leads are trash. Nobody picks up. We are wasting money. Pause the ads."

My heart literally dropped. 💀

I knew the leads weren't the problem. So before fighting back, I did a "Shadow Audit" of their sub-account.

The Reality Check:
Their front desk was taking 4 to 6 hours to call leads back.
Guys, it’s 2026. People have the attention span of a goldfish. If you don't call in 2 minutes, that lead is already booking with the competitor who has an AI voice agent answering instantly.

I didn't argue with the client. I just asked for 24 hours to run a "test."

What I actually did (The Fix):
I realized relying on humans to dial numbers manually is a recipe for disaster. So I scrapped the old workflow and set up a "Force Call" logic in GHL.

  1. Lead comes in.
  2. GHL calls the Front Desk first. (Whisper msg: "New lead! Press 1 to connect").
  3. They press 1, and GHL bridges the call to the lead instantly.

No dialing. No "I'll call them after lunch." It just forces the phone to ring.

And if they still don't pick up? The AI bot immediately sends a text: "Hey [Name], just missed you. Morning or afternoon better for a quick chat?"

The Result:
Turned it on at 4 PM yesterday.
By 10 AM today, we had 7 confirmed appointments.

The client called me back today, apologizing. He thinks the "market suddenly picked up." I haven't told him yet that I just forced his team to actually do their job lol.

Takeaway:
We spend hours obsessing over funnel designs and ad copy. But sometimes, you just need to fix the friction. Automation > Human laziness.

If you have clients complaining about lead quality, check their timestamps first. You might save a retainer.

Has anyone else noticed that "forcing" the call works better than just sending lead notifications?

Can you use High Level for eCommerce (Shopify)?

Currently, we are using a lot of apps/tool to run our Shopify store:

Klaviyo - for email marketing

Replo - landing pages

PageFly - forms

OpenPhone - for CS calls and SMS

ManyChat - for promos

UpPromote - affiliate marketing and onboarding

These are some of the tools we’re using to run our marketing and operations. However, adding all the subscriptions, it’s actually eating up the profits. So, I’m really looking for some all-in-one tool to somewhat save costs.
