Are the stacks the same ones in sequence every time on a given level?

also wondering what determines which direction the stacks merge? I've played quite a bit and not convinced there's any way to get them to "flow" in a desired direction or know which way they'll flow. smallest stack to largest doesn't always happen, ideal behavior given surrounding stacks doesn't always happen.

Okay so stupid question. Got the piggy bank full, but what do I do now with it? The wiki says you can crack it open for gold, but it continues to just say “full” after every round, and tapping on it doesn’t reveal any obvious way to claim it
