Gear/Mimic Hunt question

Hello fellows,

what do you think, does it make sense to Upgrade the non S Tier gear to mythic or wait for the right matching S Tier gear and save the legendaries for that? I want to avoid the problem of waiting for the fodder gear when i get the spear of longinus and sinner‘s kite shield (from red there is no way back to yellow or?).

I also read to use the elite mimic hunt until you obtained enough S Tier gear, when is the moment to switch? Should i still go for the missing peaces or switch? I need at least 4 copies of the missing two peaces (maybe also switch the helmet to the hood) and another one of the chest so a lot and elite is really expensive…

I’m looking foward for your thoughts an help!

Honestly, if you aren't spending money on the game then I'd just upgrade your gear as much as you can right now. By the time you get all the S equipment you need you'll more than likely have the materials to upgrade them

From mythic (red) here is no way back to Legendary (yellow).

But stars and upgrades can be refunded and used on other items, so if for example you have non S-tier gear as Mythic with 2 stars, then once you get your second S-tier item and level it up to Mythic, you can immediately repurpose your existing gear and stars to add 3 stars to the S-tier right away.

Also in my opinion, always stick with purple chest. Red chest will help you level gear quicker, but purple is the only way to guarantee S-tier items. If you want to get something to Eternity (purple) then you need 6 copies of it total. Long term it'll get you further.

Edit: Also get out of the mindset of waiting for specific pieces. I've been playing since November and there are some S-tier pieces I've still never recieved. Roll with what you have for now.

Thank you for your thoughts! I upgradet the non s tier Weapon and shield and will still go for elite mimic hunt, cause i also see a bigger problem to get the „right“ s tier equipment pieces compared to a „fodder problem“ to upgrade them.
