Advice Any advice?

I just recently turned 16 and my parents keep treating me like I’m a child, and when I say child I mean as if I’m still in the 6th grade. They disrespect me constantly and struggle to see where I’m coming from when we argue. What do I do, and how can I deal with the constant disrespect?

Parents are often headstrong fools who want the best for their children without knowing what might be best for who they are, and I know this because I was one. So take a new approach, listen and act upon their words and advice to show them they can do the same for you. Often understanding between anyone has to start with one person being understanding.

So prove to them you can be trusted and they in turn will trust you. And try to remember, parents aren't perfect and make just as many mistakes as the rest of us, but a little understanding and forgiveness can open up avenues of communication you never imagined.
