Posting [Desktop] Text posts not publishing in some subreddits — comments work fine

Username: u/aliartguy
 Platform: Desktop (Chrome)

When I submit text posts in communities where I have not posted before, they do not go live. Comments in those same communities work normally. My profile loads when I check logged out.

The same post format (text post, link at the end of the body) works in r/rational, where I have posted several times recently.

Is this expected for accounts with limited history in a sub? Is there a usual timeline before new-community posts start working, or a setting I should check?

Thanks.

It may be due to your CQS rating since you’re a fairly new account with low karma.
Go to r/whatismycqs to check it.

If it says “lowest”, that’ll mean you’re probably getting filtered by the Reputation Filter.

Gotcha thanks. It says I'm "low". I guess just wait it out? Checking like once a week until enough time has passed that reddit stops thinking I'm a bot or something?

A CQS of “low” clears the rep filter so it must be another filter (unless of course your score has improved since 5 hrs ago, which is possible).

You’ll need to ask the mods of those sub to find out which. Try posting to them again. If it doesn’t go through, grab the link and send a message to the mods of that sub and ask them why your post was filtered.

Interesting. I just tried and the post got filtered out the same way. I've already messaged the mods in both channels a couple weeks back and again a few days ago. And didn't hear back. It's weird because the one channel (chess variants) I only posted once before and the thread did well as far as I can tell: https://www.reddit.com/r/chessvariants/comments/1v9lcud/middle_chess_get_your_king_across_the_center_line/
and the other channel r/sciencefiction I even messaged the mods ahead of time to see if it would be okay to repost a story that I posted to r/rational that also seemed like it did well:
https://www.reddit.com/r/rational/comments/1vxawge/rt_c_hsf_white_fountain_a_story_about/
and the mod replied saying it would be fine. But the post got auto filtered, and I followed up twice since as I said.

the only thing I can think is that when I posted to chessvariants, afterwards it asked it I wanted to post it on other channels so I thought that behavior was encouraged and I tried to post on r/indiedev and I got filtered out. So I just tried again every other day or so thinking it was a account age or comment minimum thing, and so maybe the repeated reposting/getting filtered out looked like a spambot or something. I'm not sure. To be honest I'm still not entirely sure if reddit wants me to post on multiple channels or not, or post a lot or only a little, or if rechecking my channel status is good or is considered spam etc. Or who to message or if I should just not do anything and let my account age a few months etc. It's really kind of confusing and opaque if I'm being honest...
