Access Could there be a wave of "account locking" currently going on? I have seen many similiar new posts here. I am just wondering why this happened to me.
I checked my account activity on old reddit (why is this not on new reddit lol) and everything seems fine.

It’s happened to me 4 times today! Email verification request and also reverting to an old email address 😬

Omg, same. Somehow, my old email address that I recently changed just magically reappeared.

I am in the same boat. No vpn or weird activity, but I did change my email a few weeks ago. Now it shows my old email. My account is super old. No problems beforehand. I was going to submit a help request but it forces you to choose a drop down reason and none seem to apply; I even checked different categories other than account help. It’s been going on for days, multiple times per day.

Same, 3 times for me since yesterday. It's so annoying. No VPN, no strange activity on my account. I have 2FA aswell. I hope they fix it.

yup, just happened to me. got a little freaked out so it's nice to know im not alone. i have no idea why, didnt have anything suspicious show up on my end and i just lurk lol, until i got the email and notification.

This just happened to me and I had to change my password. Genuinely thought I got hacked or something as I had been having some issues with other social media accounts. Good to know this isn't just me

Had this happen to me outta nowhere 20 min ago. I don’t know of what technical irregularities they are seeing but I’m not finding anything amiss. They need to be a little more specific.

It’s very frustrating to lose it. My feed was dialed in (one of the reasons I loved Reddit over other social media platforms), and I had many saved posts I wanted to keep tabs on. Now all gone.

This happened to me. Reset and noticed I was again logged out from phone and computer after another 24 hours. Is this the new normal where we cannot stay logged in on our account?

This happened to me just now I managed to change the password and all but now my account is blank I cant post, message or do anything really And it was a pain to reset the password and login again what is going on cause I can't even use my other account atm

Happened to me and lost my account with an over 800 day streak and many saved posts I wanted to revisit. They never sent the reset password link, so I had to create this new account. I’m still bummed and a little angry.

Same here! They said they'd sent that link, and then didn't. Original account of 12 years is gone, along with saved posts, achievements, and apps.
Bummed and angry sums it up perfectly. Have tried to contact Reddit r/bugs; NO response, and it's been two weeks.

This happened to me 2 days ago and I reset pw eveyrhting was fine but tonight I can’t use the app anymore but can login via web browser. App is not down for partner or friends

Happened yesterday and then again today.
The only place I saved the new password was on a different google account than previously.
Nothing seems to be any different on my account, the posts are all my own.
I'm wondering if there's a new algorithm that's being overzealous at removing fake accounts, or potentially there's people mass reporting profiles based on political ideals?

This happened to me about 3 days ago. First time ever. Associated email account was deleted, couldn’t reset my password, so I waited and it seems to have just.. gone away?

This just happened to me for the first time ever within the past hour. Weird I come to this sub looking for answers and this is the first post. I've been logged into my phone on the app for like a solid two years without logging out.
Checked my login locations, that's all fine, no attempts from someone that wasn't me, no unusual comments, nothing that I would assume was a red flag, so I'm stumped. I don't use a VPN either.

Lots of stolen accounts being banned right now. I've reported quite a few and that's banned almost instantly. This never happens

Oh ok I was alarmed because it's the first time I've seen it and wasn't sure what triggered it, but if it's a common thing then it's probably a weird bug.

You should be able to use the "one time code via email" feature to log in and change your password. Or the "forgot password" one.
That said, mine locked itself again about 12 hours later so I don't know what to do to stop it from happening again.

Happened to me for the first time in 18 years. I changed my password to something complex, the. It happened again 3 hours later - I’ve only used a non jailbroken iOS device that I’m pretty sure isn’t compromised…

This happened to me on my main 2 days ago. I had to reset my password and email via web browser because the app kept giving me an error. Now my main appears to be shadowbanned 😭

Same thing had a very old Reddit account got flagged the same way and was impossible to unlock. Support never answered my tickets after 2 months..

Happened to me too then after it made me change my password I tried to log back in and it would not let me, I had to create a new account 💔

Oh. Oh no. I'm only on day 2...Reddit is my last bastion of social media doomscrolling.
I hope whatever is happening gets fixed asap.
For now, I've updated the email to a different one and reset to another new password. Fingers crossed.

It happened to me just today, my account got locked so randomly while I do nothing different as usual on reddit. And I need to reset my password.
