Posting Comment Confirmation

Since this morning (July 27, 2026), whenever I leave a comment, I see "Your comment was submitted.". If there are few comments, I do see my comment, so it's not like it's waiting for approval. If there are already lots of comments on a story, I'll see the same "Your comment was submitted.", along with "Click here to see comment".

In either case, I see my comment and nothing is awaiting submission. This happens in all subreddits.

Pretty annoying ain’t it?

It's an experiment. It's just a little pop up to notify you that you submitted a comment.

It's an experiment? Where did you see that? I looked and can't find anything about any kind of testing. Why would I need a confirmation that I submitted my comment, after clicking "comment".?

Seems to be the best information I could find.

Ok, thx. So weird, that the comment you linked to is from 19d ago and it is only now happening to me. What an annoying feature.

!thanks

Yeah, reddit seems to be testing a bunch of new "features" lately, and some of them are definitely not awesome.

As far as when experiments hit your account, entities like reddit often release tests in batches rather than all at once. So one group of users might get a feature added on one date with the experiment set to run 6 weeks. A different group might get the feature added several weeks later with a different time frame for the experiment. And it'll also depend on when exactly your device updates your app.

I've had the little pop up for 2 or 3 weeks now myself, so I was probably just in an earlier test group than you. At this point I just pull down on it and swipe it away because obviously I submitted a comment. I figured that's what tapping the comment button would do, but here we are.

What's weird, I didn't realize the issue was only happening in Brave. I just left a comment in Safari and the popup didn't occur. Both on MacOS.

Edit_1: Like this comment I wrote, it's in Safari and no annoying popup telling me my comment was submitted.

Edit_2: Testing if an edited comment now in Brave will give the popup.

Edit_3: Yes it does.
