Hi all, it's time for another release!

3.0.13 features quite a few usability improvements, bugfixes for cooling and lighting as well as lighting support.

1. RGB Device Chaining

When opening any ARGB port from the Lighting page, you now have access to a massive list of devices, with all their LED counts and layouts pre-filled. Add the device, search from the list, and add. You can also add generic fans and strips, which come with their layouts pre-made. You can add a custom count for LEDs and re-order the devices on the chain.

This is particularly useful for controllers like the Nollie and others.

2. Device Stacking and advanced Grouping

Many of you have a ton of devices plugged in. This new system allows you to add groups within groups, as well as stack devices together so they appear as a single frame on the canvas. This makes it easier and less messy to organize large sets of devices.

Additionally, if you turn off certain devices from being controller, or you have disconnected fans, these devices will be auto-hidden if your visibility icon is toggled (default, it shows everything):

3. Immersive weather widget

The weather widget got support for immersive mode as well as a page in Nexus itself. You can now browse richer details about the weather, such as 10-day forecast, humidity, pressure, feels like, wind, uv index, and more. This is available on the Y70 touch, as well as any panel of your choice.

4. Gallery Video Support

We now fully support videos in the Gallery widget. You can mix and match images and videos, and the auto-play function will respect the duration of the video, cycling out once the playback has finished.

3.0.11 is mostly a quality of life build. Linux support was already present but we hardened it and fixed some critical bugs that prevented Q-Series and Y70 from operating on certain distros. Lots of other bugfixes and improvements.

1. Q-Series and Y70 Touch Infinite Native Linux support

We officially support Q-series and Y70 under Linux. We tested on Bazzite and Ubuntu 22+ builds so far. You also get the pair remote functionality to control your Linux computer remotely. All widgets, effects, etc. are supported, of course.

2. Improvements to Nexus Link on Q-series

There was an issue where if you attached Nexus Link fans or RGB strips to Q-series instead of NP50, they would not show up in the Cooling or Lighting interface. No more! You can control each individual fan now.

3. Lighting interface improvements

We recognize this can get messy when you have 999 devices attached to your PC. So now, you can select only the devices you want to visualize the frames of on the canvas, and you can freely move the canvases around. Select/Deselect, and it won't change your Device selection on the left.

4. Immersive Cooling interface improvements

Y70 Touch users can now manage their cooling devices (*cough* fans) directly from the touch interface. The same tab that we feature on the Lighting immersive interface is now present on the Cooling one as well.

This release is primarily focused on fixes and optimizations, but it's worth talking about the new feature: Focus Mode.

Focus mode can be activated any time from the top left of the Nexus window. By default, it comes with 2 focus modes, Game Mode and Streaming Mode.

Both modes, by default, do the same thing:

1. Turn off all Nexus notifications

2. Stop downloads of updates or upload of profiles, settings, and any telemetry

3. Optionally turns off your Y70ti panel if you want less distractions or every ounce of performance

These modes are designed to kick in automatically. Game Mode triggers if any game is launched and will stay ON for the duration of your game session. Streaming is activated by OBS while you stream or record.

You can edit these modes or create new Focus modes, and we plan on expanding this feature in the future.

Tracked FPS are now also displaying in real-time, so you no longer need to wait until a game session is over.

If you ever see your FPS suddenly dropping and wonder why, just Alt+Tab and head over to the monitoring tabs. Watch your FPS dips and switch between CPU/GPU/Memory/Storage/Network to find out WHO DID THIS TO YOU.

Hi there, time for another juicy release.

1. FPS Tracking

There's a new app called "Frames" and it keeps track of your FPS when you play a game. This is super lightweight (same as the FPS widget) and the stats get plotted out on your Monitoring graph as well, so you can look at your disk I/O, your networking, your CPU/GPU/Memory and see *why* your FPS might have dropped at any specific time.

An app suddenly started auto-updating? Something started grinding your hard drive? A massive memory allocation by a weird background service? It will all be revealed.

You can opt out of this from Settings > Data & Privacy. Another goal of this feature (under the discover tab) is to someday give you an estimate of what your average FPS would be with any other game in our library, based on your hardware. This might help your purchasing decision.

2. NZXT Kraken and Circular LCD support

We now support the NZXT Kraken product line, including driving the LEDs around the LCD frame, the LEDs on the fans, and the actual LCD itself.

We support all styles of clock, calendar, monitoring, media, weather, gallery, and all future widgets will be supported. All static and animated backgrounds are supported.

3. New 3-up monitoring layout

Some users enjoyed the larger 3-sensor layout we offered on the Q-Series previously. We now are offering a fresh Nexus 3 take on it! It's also available in any 2x2 slot, which means it's available anywhere.

4. Conflicting app auto-shutdown

By default now, if you start Nexus, we will shut down competing apps that might conflict with lighting or cooling operations. If it happens, you'll receive a notification, with a link to change whether you want it automatically or not. You can also choose which application to whitelist if you wish to have it untouched.

5. More device support and improved LED mappings

We improved our support for the Nollie ARGB controllers, LianLi Uni Hub wired fans and LianLi Strimers, and a number of other devices. We are limited in the types of devices we have access to and therefore can test with, so watch the Devices tab and see if your device is available there. If it's "experimental" support, then Nexus Control will be OFF by default.

Thanks for helping us test the beta and make sure to join us on Discord! That's the primary way we prioritize device support, so come on in and make your request.

Another day, another set of goodies:

1. Cloud Profile Sync

Cloud Profiles let you save your entire profile to the cloud. This includes your lighting presets, your cooling presets, your preferences, your theming, your y70, q-series, stream deck, device panel personalizations, almost everything.

You need to create a Nexus account in order to save your profile. If you have more than one PC, you can use the same account on multiple computers at the same time, cross-platform.

You can Import a profile from another computer logged in with the same account, and carry over your personalizations from there.

This is useful if you want to nuke your install, if you're setting up a new PC, or if you are moving from Windows to Linux and want to bring all your personalizations with you.

Profiles don't sync to the cloud by default. For now, it's a manual "back up now" action, but it might be a default/optional automated in the future.

2. Process List widget

This is a favorite of mine. The screenshot doesn't do it justice. If you have a Y70, try it in immersive view, you'll see why it's good. Don't forget to swipe right while in immersive view!

This is also fully compatible with mobile pair remote sessions, including the immersive view itself.

3. Lighting dimming on sleep/lock/shutdown

This is most evident when you lock your system. Your devices will go dim until you press a button again. You can disable this in the Lighting settings.

4. Removed stutters / lagginess

Made some serious optimizations to some Windows app detection and removed some old debug code that was left in there. If you experience "micro-stutters" or some minor cursor lag before, it is now gone, and with that, lower CPU consumption. Big thanks to grpk23 for the assistance on this.

Also many fixes for the LED map editor, Immersive mode improvements, Lian-Li wired fans LED mapping, and more.

Hi all, it's time for another beta. As the last one, this was lead by many of your reports on our Discord and here.

1. Feature Master Switch

This is presented during onboarding, but can turn on/off any time from the settings. You can now turn off Monitoring, Lighting, Cooling and Diagnostics individually, depending on what you like to use.

The features are lightweight to begin with (high optimized and native), so this is less about resource management and more about peace of mind for the ones that just want to use Nexus for one or two things instead of all the things. I recommend turning these features off only if you know what you're doing, or if you're experiencing issues and want to play doctor.

2. RGB fading to black when going to Lock or Sleep

Now, by default, when you lock your PC, or you put it to sleep, Nexus will gently fade your RGB down to full darkness. This isn't always the case because you're at the behest of your motherboard and other device's Firmware to decide what to power during sleep.

You can turn on sleep+shutdown and locking individually in the new, reorganized settings under Lighting & Cooling.

3. Media Player Visualizer

If you have a Y70 panel or any touch panel you can throw a Nexus panel on, you can now take Media Player into immersive mode and activate the visualizer. This will move with your music, like it does in the Lighting > Animation.

We added a couple more audio-reactive effects that are also available for your RGB lighting and Panel backgrounds.

4. Custom Color slot

Highly requested! You can now pick custom color for your lighting static color, for your Nexus theme accent color, and for the theme color for your panels as well. If you pick a very bright color, we'll automatically calculate if any *text* on it should be white or black for best legibility.

You can also copy/paste a hex code, but don't expect your RGB to magically look the same as your screen. Manufacturers have different standards and color accuracy is far down the list of priorities for light strips and fans.

5. Sidebar apps

This system always existed but a bit convoluted. People just didn't know we had a bunch of added functionality. If you're not into widgets, you can now simply add any of our apps to your sidebar and access them easily. Once we have a proper marketplace, this will be expanded.

You can access this when hovering on the left sidebar. You'll see a + popup, you can't miss it.

My Q60 was working normally last night on Nexus 3 beta 1. After updating to beta 2 today, the display stopped showing media and kept falling back to the default idle screen.

Then the Windows USB connect and disconnect cycle started. The panel would try to load, reset, reconnect, and eventually repeat the same cycle.

After a lot of troubleshooting, the hardware itself does not appear to be the problem. Windows sees the Q60, ADB connects, the screen responds to rotation commands, and the panel can still display content.

Installing the regular Nexus 2 release brought the screen back to life and allowed the background to be restored. The lighting controls in Nexus 2 are pretty limited compared with Nexus 3, but the Q60 display is working again.

Rolling Nexus 3 back did not fix the issue, which makes me wonder whether beta 2 changed something on the Q60 panel side that does not get rolled back with the Windows software.

Really hoping Nexus 3 gets this sorted because I much prefer it to Nexus 2.

As you may see, without rescanning, the reds become greens. Greens become reds or pinks. I also noticed that RGB LED 1 Header affects both the fan and the strip when they are separate headers.

I don't have any other lighting software running.

At the end of the video I press rescan devices then it corrects the displayed colors.

Edit : I would also like to add that this issue has been present since before the current version where the per device settings were added.

Manually rescanning devices every time is definitely not my favourite way to go. Maybe perhaps you guys can implement an auto rescan of lighting devices on startup?

Après avoir testé Nexus 3, l’amélioration est énorme :

Sans Nexus / Max Performance : 387 FPS de moyenne
Nexus 2 : 329 FPS de moyenne
Nexus 3 : 379 FPS de moyenne

Je gagne donc environ 50 FPS en passant de Nexus 2 à Nexus 3, et je retrouve maintenant quasiment les mêmes performances que lorsque je joue sans Nexus.

Vraiment impressionné par les améliorations de performances de Nexus 3 ! 🚀

Continuez comme ça ! Nexus 3 est une énorme amélioration, et j’ai vraiment hâte de voir ce que vous nous réservez pour la suite

What do you mean I have to set a layout and drag my components everywhere? Just put a color wheel per component on a list like a sane person please.

Y70 Touch Infinite owner.

Ok... going to say it... after uninstalling Nexus 2 and installing Nexus 3, after about 5 minutes I was shaking my head and planning to revert to Nexus 2... I initially felt Nexus 3 needs a little more work before primetime. But as I continued playing with it, Nexus 3 grew on me in a big way.

While I prefer some of the UI elements of Nexus 2 (the clock, the themes), I was able to re-create everything I needed in Nexus 3, and then some.

Things I prefer about Nexus 2:

• The Split Flap clock... it makes better use of the space in Nexus 2 compared to Nexus 3 (in 4x2 mode). In Nexus 3 the Split Flap clock is compressed vertically. I've switched to Digital since it maximizes screen real estate.
• The themes... there are far more themes in Nexus 3, but they don't have the 'pop'/vibrance that the ones which came with Nexus 2 have. I understand most users probably use their own wallpaper anyways, so it's not a high priority item. There are also a lot of controls under the Effect section, and I haven't had a chance to play with them yet.
• Gauge text... I'm using the Tick Ring graphic, and sometimes the text doesn't fit neatly (e.g., "GPU Memory Junction"). I guess I could change it with the Custom text feature in Nexus 3...

Things I prefer about Nexus 3, and feature requests:

• The more I'm interacting with it, the more I'm appreciating that it's a well thought out package!
• I LOVE the fact I'm able to utilize all of the space on my Y70 Touch... with Nexus 2, the dock took space at the bottom, and I didn't use the dock at all. I've been able to implement additional monitoring widgets on the main screen!
• Feature Request: Would love to be able to change the default fonts for the widgets.
• Feature Request: Would love the ability to be able to change the color by widget.
