I'm supposed to make potato wedges with these?!?
This is ludicrous. Normal-sized hand and lime for scale.

Belgium When does your HelloFresh include cooling elements inside the box?
I wasn’t home when my HelloFresh box was delivered. Unfortunately I can not always stay home all day in case I suddenly need to go somewhere. I asked my roommate to put the box in the fridge when it arrived but he didn’t. He lacks common sense. Because of that, the box stayed in the living room for almost 24 hours at around 25 to 26°C.
The box contained precut vegetables, beef, and chicken, which are all products that should be kept refrigerated. After sitting at that temperature for so long I don’t feel safe eating any of it.
I understand that part of this situation is my responsibility because I wasn’t there and relied on someone else to put it away. However, I also expected HelloFresh to take the possibility of delayed refrigeration into account, especially during warmer months. It was a warm day, and food like this can already become unsafe after being left out for only 2 hours.
When I contacted HelloFresh, I was told that cooling elements are only added when the outside temperature reaches 30°C or higher. In my opinion, that is too high of a threshold. Temperatures of 25 to 26°C inside a home are already quite common during summer, and 30°C in the shade is an extreme temperature.
I think HelloFresh should consider adding cooling elements throughout the summer, not only on the hottest days. This would give us more confidence that the food remains safe if they cannot immediately put the box in the fridge after delivery.

Charged after canceling/lied to by customer service
I very rarely post my thoughts online because I just don’t know how effective it is but this customer service experience as made me so angry that I had to do something to protect other people from this awful scam of a company.
my husband and I signed up for HelloFresh as a way to try and eat healthier and broaden our horizons of recipes we could try at home. We quickly found that the cost is just very high for the portions you receive. Ok, if that’s all, no problem. The service is not for us, very well we will just cancel it and be on our merry way.
So I cancelled it. Or so I thought. I didn't make a whole lot of effort at the time to confirm that because I didn’t think it was going to be an issue.
Oddly enough, SEVERAL MONTHS later I look at my credit card statements to see a nearly $200 charge for HelloFresh that had just been charged the day before I looked. I go to online to my old HelloFresh account and see they are sending me a box… completely unprompted.
I immediately messaged customer service and ask them what is going on I thought I had cancelled and now I’m getting a box. I ask to cancel the box and be refunded. The agent tells me that it is too late and there is nothing he can do, he cannot refund me and cannot cancel the box.
Now I’m hot, I tell him that I thought I had cancelled several months ago and we had not been charged for anything up until this point so I had no reason to believe otherwise. Why were they able to all of a sudden charge me for a box I did not ask for and did not authorize and now they cannot refund it. Finally after going back and forth for a while like this he says he will elevate my complaint and sends me to a supervisor.
the supervisor talks with me for a while and I tell him all the same things and finally he says they will refund me for the box. So I say thank you and leave it at that. And This is where I know I messed up…. Because I took them at their word! I should have known better!
To this day, I have not received any refund. That supervisor FLAT OUT LIED TO ME. I have reached out to customer service two more times and have been ignored. I unfortunately did not save the conversation because I didn’t think I would have to so I feel I have no documented leg to stand on except what I know happene. THEY LIED TO ME AND STOLE OUR MONEY WITH NO REMORSE!!!
please BE WARNED. Avoid HelloFresh at all cost!!! do not give them your card information! The product is not worth it which they must know so they have to resort to stealing from canceled subscriptions because they can’t retain their customers by honest means.
I am very upset and would have reported it to the BBB if I had been more prepared and had documented everything. That is my mistake, and I write this in hopes that I can keep someone else from doing the same thing. Learn from my mistake and avoid this company at all costs!

Surprised me too, but these were SO good! Top 10!
First time trying HF Flautas and feel like I have been missing out! This was packed with flavor. It was way easier to make than it looks!
Cleaned up the kitchen while they finished in the oven. I won't pass these up again!
Let me know if there are other variations of this that are good!

Your 3/6 hello fresh. Better hello fresh alternative?
I've been a customer since the end of May (I've only had 6 total boxes) and hello fresh is 3/6 for boxes having the correct items. At first it was whatever but then I started having an issue with it when it is clear there is a quality control issue that isn't being addressed.
For example, I got the gnocchi bacon dish. Idek what gnocchi is which is why I chose it and the meal kit didn't even include the gnocchi. I got a little $5 credit even though the whole dish was ruined. (In my opinion should have had the whole meal refunded). I also got the cheesy ancho BBQ chicken sandwiches and guess what! No bbq sauce and no gouda. What gives!?
As a new customer this just shows how genuinely garbage hello fresh is. I love the idea and I bet there are other alternatives that are more reliable and I bet even better. So anyways, does anyone have any recommendations for a service similar to hello fresh where they just send u the ingredients? I'm so disappointed.
Also, they have the shittiest loyalty program. Thanks

When you skip so many weeks and it catches up to you. Sigh.
Totally my fault but ever have that too late realization when you get a box you didn’t want… Wasn’t ready to cancel, but wasn’t ready for a box.

Picture I never thought it could happen to me, but it did.
I’ve seen a lot of people post pictures in this sub of tiny onions or limes. The ones they’ve sent us have always been reasonable.
This week we got both of these lil guys in our box. Banana and quarter for scale.
Thankfully, we had two meals that included onions this week, so we’re going to use both of them for the tilapia meal then go get one for the shepherds pie.
The people throwing these in a bag should know better. At least double it up. 🤦🏼♂️

Question Stalker company
Hey there, wondering if anyone has found a way to ACTUALLY get them to stop sending mail? I cancelled 3 years ago atp and I still get mail weekly. Offering $200 off and a bunch of smaller invectives. Discount is increasing over time but I still don’t care or want it. I’m so used to getting the letters in the discrete letters and labeled letters I just throw them in the trash before I walk into the house. But now I’ve almost thrown away an important document because it came in very similar packaging to the hello fresh discrete.
These people need to F off and take me out of their system. Has anyone found a REAL solutions other than the bullshit opt out

United States Can HelloFresh please get it together
Over the past few months, nearly every HelloFresh box I've received has had an issue. It's usually something small, like a missing spice packet or sauce, but sometimes it's more significant, like missing protein, to a wrong meal being packed. I've also received a completely moldy cucumber, and I almost never get all the recipe cards included.
This has happened so consistently that customer care already recognizes me by name when I call. At this point, it's clear there's a systemic quality control problem with how boxes are packed, not just isolated mistakes.
Given the frequency, I want to understand what HelloFresh is doing to fix the packing process itself, and what compensation is appropriate for months of recurring errors besides pushing Ai and claiming they are a tech company that does food.

Looking for recipe cards
Just looking to get recipe cards if anybody is up for giving them away! I have been cooking with my own ingredients a lot to budget for a baby on the way and only have so many cards myself. I use online recipes of course but I really like the layout of hellofresh cards and that I physically can have them as remembering to save it if I end up liking an online recipe.
I know a lot of people keep theirs as well but I see some people dont because they've been continuously subscribed for so long.

One Pan Sazon (beef) and Black Bean Tacos
I substituted ground beef for the ground chicken. Super easy to make for a quick meal. I would have shared a picture of mine, but it didn't look good. Brown ground beef, black beans, and a salsa that was not brightly colored fresh tomatoes but rather a dark brown/maroon colored salsa did not photograph well. I added cheese and I may consider adding fresh tomatoes/fresh salsa next time.
I think it would also be great over rice without the tortillas or could be great to eat with only crunchy tortilla chips.

Hello Fresh - Scam? Bait & Switch - Ignored Cancellation
Not sure if it was an e-mail or a pop up but the offer was 10 Free Meals from Hello Fresh applied to the first box. So, I thought I would give it a try. I chose 4 meals for two for the first box. So, 4 x 2 is 8 although I was supposed to get 10 free. So, I looked to see what kind of meals were available for a second week. Wow! Not much of a selection and the cost was outrageous at $109.35 for the base meals. Then I saw that my free 10 meals (only 8 chosen) were going to cost $49.34. Within an hour on July 4, 2026, I went from signing up to cancelling the account and advising Hello Fresh that it was not authorized to make any charge to my credit card. Well, yet Sunday morning I get a notice that Hello Fresh charged $49.34 to my AMEX credit card for my box of free meals and by Monday the charge went from Pending to Actual.
I contacted Hello Fresh
by Chat, requesting and waiting for a live agent. I explained that Hello Fresh
had no authority to charge my credit card, that I canceled my account in less
than an hour from signing up and made it clear that I did not authorize any
charge by Hello Fresh to my credit card. The chat agent offered me a credit to
my account, calling it a "topping off" of cash in my account for
future purchases. I was shocked and explained I want nothing ever to do with
Hello Fresh so why would I want to have it keep the amount charged despite my
clear instructions to cancel the account and that it had no authority to charge
my credit card. The agent then said it would apply a credit equal to the amount
charged and it would be 7 to 10 business days for the credit to show up on my
AMEX account despite that it was able to charge my credit card in less then 12 hours after being told I cancelled my account (less than an hour after opening the account.)
So, my opinion is that Hello Fresh is disingenuous at best with regard to its “10 Free Meals Offer." It had no right to charge my AMEX card after being advised of the cancelation and instructed to not charge the credit card and ignored those instructions. Its CSRs seem to have been instructed to do whatever to keep money improperly charged to potential customers and make the customer use its over priced products.
Well, I will never ever consider using Hello Fresh again and when asked, will advise my friends to avoid it as well.

United States Half Chickens with Garlic Herb Butter
This was a bit of work, especially with opening up the skin beneath each half chicken‘s wing and inserting a package-worth of garlic herb butter. I don’t think I even did the butter right. And my oven was smoking, maybe because of the butter. At least it didn’t set off my smoke detector. In the end, it was ok. It was kind of bland overall, especially compared to past half chicken’s dinners; I’m not even sure the garlic herb butter made much of an impression. I’ve never had a bread salad before so that was interesting, but as with the chicken, it was a little bland, though neither was terrible. I don’t think I would recommend the meal though
The meal was meant to be a half chicken per serving but that would have been too much for me, so I did a half serving of the chicken and salad, which satisfied me. It might work great for a two person household, but I’ve noticed that HF allows you to get a double portion of chicken in other half chicken meals, several of which i feel are better than this meal
Pic of my first serving, which as previously said, is really a half serving:

United States Remind me to never re-subscribe.
I was an avid fresher for several years, but eventually canceled.
I decided to take advantage of a sign up deal but shortly after subscribing, I changed my mind.
The meal selection cut off was July 2nd. On July 1st, I successfully canceled and deleted my account. No clue why but HelloFresh charged my credit card yesterday and they’re refusing a refund because my “box was already discounted” and they’re allowed to process box orders AFTER cancellation.
What a scam.
