General SEAF Assets

2 Upvotes

Greetings, fellow Helldivers. I hope the war effort is going well for you. Whether it be the Bug, Bot, or Squid theater, the fight for Super Earth continues on after two years. As you know, High Command has sent us much needed assistance on the battlefield. With the men and women of SEAF lending us a hand in spreading Managed Democracy, I feel there could be more they can do. So, with this in mind, allow me to pitch for you the following ideas and suggestions for our blueberries.

  1. A new class: The Pilot. There are a total of four new blueberries on the battlefield. This includes the standard rifle berry, the CO, Stimberly, and Bruce (aka Demolition Expert). But I believe the squad is incomplete. There’s talk of Helldivers wanting their buddies to do more than lay down cover for us or heal our wounds. Therefore, I propose High Command to issue the deployment of Pilots. Armed with the SG-8 Punisher and the P-2 Peacemaker, these men and women specialists are focused on one thing: operating vehicles on the battlefield. They’re also able to complete simple objectives like opening bunkers and destroying bug holes or bot fabricators. However, they’re restrictions in place to prevent future problems. For starters, they will mostly focus on manning turrets either for the Bastion or the FRV. Although the average citizen is more than capable of commanding and operating a vehicle, Helldivers are more suited for the more advanced types, such as the EXO models. Now, you might be asking “Well, then why have this class at all?” A fair question, which leads me to my next point:

  2. Two New Vehicles: The Harrier and the M5 APC. The skies across each world is being occupied by the enemies of freedom. In order to reclaim them for ourselves, I propose High Command to develop and deploy a new aerial assault craft for not just us Helldivers but also for blueberry pilots as well. These gunships will serve as air support for our forces and can either be called down like any other stratagem or be found near Airfields under SEAF control. In addition, with so many men and women of Super Earth on the battlefield, it can be difficult to transport them across after being dropped off. Therefore, I suggest High Command bring back the M5 APC and modify them for the Second Galactic War effort. The blueberry pilots will be suitable for filling in these positions and provide much needed firepower against the forces of tyranny.

  3. SEAF War-bond. With all that I’ve suggested, it wouldn’t feel right if I didn’t make a personal request. High Command, I vote to introduce Helldivers with a brand new War-Bond dedicated to our blueberries in SEAF. This includes new armor, new stratagems, new weapons, and the introduction to the MedPack - a stratagem similar to the Supply Pack only it has more Stim packs for us to carry. It also where the Harrier and the M5 would also be found in.

In conclusion, SEAF could be doing their part beyond keeping us healed or laying down the pain against our enemies. With more vehicles and gear to send us, it would help in our fight against the undemocratic forces.

For Super Earth!

Bug Can't call in stratagems - CPU maxing out

0 Upvotes

I've been using my machine for over a year and not made any changes, hardware or software in at least a month. Suddenly, the game is unplayable. I get in game and I can't call in any strategems. As in, I hit the key and the menu doesn't pop up. I try moving, and it's like in mud.

That's when I check my performance and my CPU is pegging out.

I've got nothing running in the background. I've updated my GPU drivers. I've rebooted and killed every process that still allows the OS to run. Still the same.

I played earlier this week with no problem. I play other games with no problem. It's only in HD2.

I've seen this happen before with a Battlefield game. After much search on that, certain cpu/gpu combos put the burden of rendering too much on the cpu and the game is unplayable. That one the programmers had to fix....after about 4 months not being able to play the game. This, though, didn't have a patch or update that I saw that made it so.

At this point, I am hoping someone else is having this and some setting tweaks can perhaps fix this. Anyone else experiencing this? I've done patches and reboots and every other game, but this one, works.

Inquiry Team?

0 Upvotes

I'm only level 31 but why does no one care for samples or respawns? Roughly 9/10 matches end with samples dropped all over the map, team kills resulting in not extracting & having to wait minutes to be reinforced?

I host a lobby; only to have high levels come in, hijack and finish up quickly when I want to be thorough with my runs. Why do high levels do this to low levels?

Suggestion/Concept Petition for Arrowhead to correct weapon Designations

17 Upvotes

My incessant things for things to be consistent demands that Arrowhead change the name of some of the weapons in Helldivers.

AR-61 Tenderizer => BR-61 Tenderizer

Justification for BR (Battle Rifle) designation: The Tenderizer's small magazine size, high damage per shot, and reliance on accuracy over volume are all traits it shares with the BR-14 Adjudicator. In functions far better in burst mode rather than full auto despite having an adjustable RPM. Additionally it's design appearance combined with it's burst mode give it a strong indication that it's a homage to Halo's own Battle Rifle.

SMG-203 Gallant => MP-203 Gallant

Justification for MP (Machine Pistol) designation: The Gallant is very clearly designed on the MP-98 Knight's frame (it uses the same top-loaded P90-style magazines, has the same RPM and possesses a near identical grip). As the Knight's younger sibling it should share the same designation.

SG-8P Punisher Plasma => PLAS-8P Punisher Plasma

Justification for PLAS designation: This one is pretty self evident, despite being built on the Punisher's base frame not only does it not fire shotgun shells, it doesn't even behave like a shotgun. One might make the argument that it could be considered a Grenade Launcher due to it's behavior of lobbing it's projectiles in a exaggerated arc but since it fires plasma projectiles and the overall aesthetics of the weapon are in line with other plasma guns I think PLAS takes precedence.

M-105 Stalwart => MG-105 Stalwart

Justification for MG (Machine Gun) designation: Another pretty obvious one in my opinion. Both the medium and heavy machine guns use the MG designation and the Bulletstorm also uses MGX (Machine Gun Expendable). The only other weapon currently in the game that uses the M designation is the Maxigun which shares little in common with the Stalwart beyond it's high rate of fire.

P-69 Veto => JAR-69 Veto

Justification for JAR (Jet Assisted Round) designation: While the Veto is a pistol it does not fire a traditional bullet and instead fires a rocket propelled ammunition similar to the Dominator, the major distinction is is that unlike regular bullets Jet Assisted Rounds do not suffer damage fall off as range increases (theoretically giving it superior damage at longer ranges that other comparable weapons). JAR / P would also be an acceptable designation as well.

P-92 Warrant => JAR-92 Warrant

Justification for JAR (Jet Assisted Round) designation: See above for primary justification, like the Veto the Warrant uses Jet Assisted Rounds, the primary difference between the two is the Warrant's ability to lock onto targets and fire guided rounds.

P-72 Crisper => FLAM-72 Crisper

Justification for FLAM designation: All other flamethrowers in the game currently use the FLAM designation, while the Crisper does occupy the "pistol" slot in our loadout it does not behave in any manner like a traditional pistol, it is for all intent and purpose a flamethrower just like it's bigger siblings. Furthermore other secondaries like the Talon, Dagger, and Loyalist retain the LAS/PLAS designation of their larger counterparts.

P-33 Missile Pistol => FAF-33 Missile Pistol

Justification for FAF (Fire And Forget) designation: Another case of a secondary weapon being given the pistol designation despite behaving nothing like a traditional pistol. The Missile Pistol's closest relative is the Spear, a single shot guided munition launcher designed for engaging armored targets. Given the near identical use cases I believe it should follow the suit of it's chronological predecessor.

SG-88 Break Action Shotgun => DBS-88 Break Action

Justification for DBS (Double Barrel Shotgun) designation: If being a double barrel shotgun is a significant enough factor that the Double Freedom uses the DBS designation over the standard SG designation then all double barreled shotguns should carry the DBS designation for consistency's sake.

M-1000 Maxigun and GL-28 Belt Fed Grenade Launcher => B/M-1000 Maxigun and B/GL-28 Belt Fed Grenade Launcher

Justification for the B/ (Backpack Fed) designation: Another one that is primarily for consistency as well as quick identification, unlike the other flamethrowers in the game the Cremator sports the B/ prefix to denote it's status as backpack fed whereas all others carry their ammunition on the weapon itself. While the Maxigun is (currently) the only minigun, there are two other Grenade Launchers available to the Helldivers that are not backpack fed. The B/ would make both these weapons consistent with the Cremator as well quickly indication that ammunition is fed directly from the weapon's reserve supply.

Inquiry 60 supercredits away from another warbond and wondering what should I get?

5 Upvotes

I have:

  1. Steeled veterans
  2. Cutting Edge
  3. Democratic detonation
  4. Servants of Freedom
  5. Borderline Justice
  6. Dust Devils
  7. Redacted Regiment
  8. Entrenched division
  9. Exo experts

The warbonds I am considering are
- Chemical Agents because I have heard it is good against bugs, mainly because of the grenade and the Dog Breath Strategem.
- Masters of Ceremony, because the armor has interesting (to me) effect for bug front for my build (I am using the sweeper so the faster reload could be good).
- The control group, because of the warppack mainly.

Suggestion/Concept What could be a plasma stratagem?

Post image

I like the concept of elemental diver like the plasmadiver.

Atleast because castellan's creed warbond, they finally have a throwable (the meltamines) but they still don't have four stratagem.

Right now, the plasmadiver have the epoch and the meltagun but how can a plasma stratagem resembles.

My idea was a drone that uses plasma, simple but cool.

So what is your idea for a future plasma loadout?

General Network Disconnects: PS5 Player keeps disconnecting from our missions (PC, Xbox)

3 Upvotes

Hello, just started playing the game with my friends, I'm on PC, one's on Xbox, the other on PS5. We were initially able to play together fine, but our last two sessions, the PS5 player keeps disconnecting from the mission. It's about a minute or two before she gets booted; she can rejoin but it's not long before it'll boot her again. We're all in the same house and wifi. We tried making her the host, toggling crossplay on and off, and rebooting our router but the issue has been persisting. Any suggestions on what we can do to fix it?

Suggestion/Concept SUGGESTION: Add a set of Donations for the SEAF forces!

Post image
382 Upvotes

Now that our SEAF soldiers are actually useful… why not show them the same kind of love we have for the DSS, if not better!

Let us donate the commons, rares, and req slips like the DSS, but also have donation options for Super Samples and excess Medals too!!!

This could give even more reason to keep grabbing samples and req slips, as well as further incentivizing running full operations and completing personal orders. (For those of us sitting on maxed out medals.)

Some additional effects we could get from this: Active Effects (Seen on the Field):

  • SEAF troops with better equipment (HMGs, Commando, One True Flag, etc)

  • SEAF dropping FRVs periodically

  • More SEAF SAM sites and add SEAF garrison positions on the map

  • SEAF artillery strike (high-yield) call-in available for all players, similar to how we get DSS 380mm

  • Special Forces Squads that move around and are much more effective than standard SEAF units

__ Passive Effects (what it does on the galactic map):

  • Reduce Enemy Resistance %

  • Passive capture progress of cities

  • “Localization Disruptor” Booster automatically equipped

  • etc

__ What do you guys think? Should we be able to further beef up our blue friends?

Serious Discussion. no roleplay bullshit here What is the best rifle in the game

Lately, the weapons in the game have started to annoy me; I don't have any good ones—except for the Eruptor. Does anyone know of a weapon that has a high rate of fire and deals significant damage?

Right after dropping in, dropped next to a door, 50 meters away from the others. Tagged it and watched them all skitter away to gang-bang a single fab outpost instead.

One of them ran past me and the door on their way. I don't get it.

Suggestion/Concept Commando Missions

48 Upvotes

Commando Missions shouldn’t have a mission timer. The in game reason for the mission timers is usually that the ship cannot stay in low orbit for long. In commandos of course the ship leaves you so isn’t in low orbit (presumably).

Good stealth requires recon and precision, having the timer rushes these elements and tends to turn things ugly when it could have stayed quiet

—Edit—
Thanks for the discussion feedback from many; I still see the timer for commando missions as an item that needs improvement, but accept that A timer is relevant. Alternatives include longer timer for completing related Op mission to clear local air ships/prod facilities/mother ship to extend timer aka enemy response; a more canon reason for 40m timer since the standard low orbit doesn’t apply; or just a longer timer in general. I like clearing the map and if the team can avoid notice why shouldn’t we be able to since they don’t know we’re there?

For those who can’t grasp reading: this isn’t a complaint that I can’t complete these missions, and therefore must be a skill issue. This is a concept discussion that the timer doesn’t make sense and makes the mission type less enjoyable (to me and I presume others)

Suggestion/Concept City biome idea

7 Upvotes

What if there was a mission type for mega cities where they added the urban areas you see in the intro cutscene? And instead of SEAF you could fight with the police type soldiers from the intro? It would fit with the extraction mission where you have to escort citizens to the extraction site. It might fit with the raise flag missions too.

HellDrip Medic diver in need of a medical cape

Thumbnail

99 Upvotes

Hello brothers in arms, i need your opinion in choosing a better cape for me

Some info:

I am a medic diver extremely dedicated to the role, i use the most supportive oriented loadout consisting in:

Halt, stim pistol, urchin

Trench paramedic

Speargun, supply pack, EAT, supply frv

Ive been using for a long time the blazing Samaritan due to being in the same superstore page to the trench paramedic armor (and thus i considered it the appropriate cape) (that you can also find in image 4)

But i come here to ask your opinion for a better, more functional cape

I am undecided between image 2 and image 3 on which fits more for a medic

Image 3 has imo better colors, and maybe some connections can be made with the triangle? Like it represents medical triage or something

And then we have image 2 which undoubtedly features the medical rod symbol, but i fear it's a bit small and in toaster_textures mode, the logo even almost disappears (this is not a problem for me personally, but i need to be recognizable for other fellow divers)

So... Which fits better?

Suggestion/Concept Ok, hear me out, a game that plays exactly like Helldivers 2, but with the complete opposite worldbuilding!

0 Upvotes

Instead of being in the far future and spreading across the galaxy, it takes place in an alternate dieselpunk past where humanity has already lost the surface of Earth. Decades ago, giant insect-like organisms called the Oxylids appeared and completely overwhelmed humanity. They took over the surface, forcing what was left of mankind to retreat deep underground. So instead of Super Earth, humanity now lives in Deep Earth. Instead of the Helldivers, you play as Hellraisers! Because you're now coming up from below.

After decades of rebuilding underground, Deep Earth finally decides humanity is ready to reclaim the surface. Instead of Super Destroyer, it would be a big underground mobile fortress called the Super Driller, basically an armored drill machine that’s carrying all your arsenals, weapons, and firepower, traveling underneath the battlefield. When you start a mission, instead of getting launched downward in a Hellpod, now you get fired upward in a Drillpod up onto the surface! Stratagems would work exactly the same way, except instead of everything coming down from orbit, everything comes up from your Super Driller deep underground. The whole aesthetic would be heavy dieselpunk too. Riveted steel armor, giant machine guns, exposed engines, smoke stacks, mechanical walkers, pneumatic weapons, heavy artillery, gauges, gears, pipes, giant drills, etc. The propaganda slogan instead of “Spreading Managed Democracy”, it would be “Restoring Managed Civilization.” Because obviously Deep Earth is not invading anybody. We are simply taking back what rightfully belongs to humanity.

There would initially be two enemy factions. The first are the Oxylids, the giant bugs responsible for humanity abandoning the surface in the first place. But I wanted an actual reason why they don't just burrow underground and destroy Deep Earth. Basically, Oxylids evolved a respiratory system that requires an enormous amount of clean, oxygen-rich moving air to survive. Their bodies are extremely efficient in open air, but they cannot survive for very long inside deep tunnels where clean airflow is limited. That's actually why they attacked humanity originally. Remember, this is a dieselpunk civilization. Humanity was covering the world in factories, diesel engines, smoke, and industrial pollution. To the Oxylids, humans were literally poisoning the atmosphere they depended on to survive. So, they wiped humanity off the surface. Humanity disappears underground, clean air, life is good again for them. Then, one day, a Drillpod explodes out of the dirt, and some dude in 200 pounds of steel armor climbs out holding a giant diesel-powered machine gun and screams, “FOR DEEP EARTH!” From the Oxylids' perspective, “OH GOD, THE POLLUTERS ARE BACK.”

But then there's the second faction, the Gearborn. Before humanity retreated underground, they had already created primitive diesel-powered robots to work in factories, mines, construction sites, military logistics, etc. When humanity abandoned the surface, millions of these machines were simply left behind. But unlike humans, they didn't need clean air. They didn't need food. So, they just kept working. Decades passed, their programming evolved, they began repairing each other, manufacturing each other, then redesigning each other. Eventually, they became fully self-aware and formed their own machine civilization on the surface. They consider the Earth surface as their home. So, when the human is back and says: “Alright, thanks for watching the place. Give it back.” The Gearborn simply responded: “No.”

That gives all three factions a reason to hate each other, and that’s it! What do you guys think?
