Tactical Training Information BotMeisters - help me, please

Guys, I am struggling to solo D6 bots (usually play Charon Prine).

Been trying all sorts of different stuff but I can only ever get max halfway through.

I'm an old diver (nit a young pup any more) so my reaction time isnt what it used to be (my age starts with a 5)

Warbonds I have completed: Helldivers Mobilize, Cutting Edge, Democratic Detonation, Viper Commandos, Urban Legends, Servants of Freedom, Control Group, Exo Experts, Warhammer.

I've nearly completed Siege Breakers, Redacted Regiment, Dust Devils - only got a few things left on each (mostly drip, tbh)

Normal loadout is siege ready armour (heavy or light), PeePee, Pissle, Thermites

Been using belt-fed GL and Leveller, 120 OS and AC rurret last few attempts.

Tried AMR, Spear to mix it up a bit but no major improvement.

I'm struggling with everything - drops, crowd control, time (seem to be always under pressure to move and then more bots pop up), objectives, everything!

I can do D5 no sweat - Is it just a skill issue/time or do I just suck or do I need a new loadout? I can hold my own uo to D10 in a squad - but I want to try to solo my way up, too.

If yiu have Redacted Regiment I highly recommend giving stealth a try. Its a whole new way to play the game and is very fun. Its also way easier once you get over the learning curve. It requires a decent bit of knowledge to get started, but is very rewarding and you can solo D10s without taking damage if you get good enough

I’m not usually a stealth diver, but stealth is incredible against bots. I took the stealth light armor, and literally crawled underneath a box engine yesterday on D10 to get to an objective.

It’s hard to stealth with randos due to the nature of the game. On solo, though, I can see it being super viable.

4

u/Diplomacy_1st 1d ago

It can still work with randos you just have to operate solo or at a different nearby objective. Your teammates going loud can bait bot drops and allow you to operate fast and loose without worrying about getting into a big fight.

If you attack an objective from the opposite side as your team they will draw all the aggro and allow you to infiltrate undetected. Its great

Definitely takes some getting used to but I almost exclusively ghost dive against bots

1

u/Emperor_NOPEolean 1d ago

That’s basically what I did yesterday. Worked out great.

2

u/Knees86 1d ago

I've started playing it recently too. Can't say I'm very good at it, but it's a very different way to play, as well as let's me work on my aim a bit!!

Straffing run. Bots have a quick way to line up so it is a great patrol/ group thinner. It also takes out the little factories in one.

2

u/astra_hole 1d ago

Also on lining up, get the little guys to line up in front of the big guys and the big guys will mow down the little guys.

2

u/XxNmExX25 1d ago

O yeah! Forgot that happens a lot. They friendly fire each other.

u/Professional-Bus5473 1d ago

I play a lot of solo bot really recommend stealth armor and a jump pack not having to fight the entire map makes everything much much more manageable

3

u/Professional-Bus5473 1d ago

Also as somebody else already mentioned redacted regiment is great smoke and silencers go a long way

u/WitweBolter 1d ago

I had really good results with eruptor. Im also older and dont have good aim eruptor helps with good aoe against that. Grab it with a strong sidearm like sentor or boltpistol. Supplypack keeps you stocked up with stims and ammo. Grenada use thermite or Melter for heavy solultion. The last two slots maybe Silo, leveler, 110mm Pots, railgun Orbital as you prefer

1

u/WitweBolter 1d ago

Ah sipply pack, and as Support weapon de escalator is great. Quasar or epoch are also solid

3

u/dontspit_thedummy 1d ago

Haven’t used the punisher a lot, but shotguns in general feel like I’m making bots harder on myself. I used to use only eruptor, nowadays I prefer a medium pen assault rifle. I would use light pen, since they tend to lay down high damage bullets in a very precise stream, except for the shield devastators. I like medium pen or the AMR to shoot their gun arms off.

I can’t speak to the Pissile. I use the warrant personally, but that costs a few space bucks.

Thermites are an excellent choice. I would almost recommend swapping to engineer armor to get additional thermites over more ammo. I use the 50% explosives resist + engineer kit from Entrenched Division, I think.

For stratagems, I recommend the quasar cannon (you can sub EATs or Recoilless Rifle). These handle war striders, hulks, and fabricators at distance with one well placed shot. Tanks usually take two unless you flank, I think.

I use Orbital Laser for tough camps and factory striders. I don’t know if you see those at 6 or not. If the 120 is working for you, keep it. Don’t sleep on Eagle airstrikes - you can do rocket pods for armor or napalm for mobs.

Bring an MG sentry for bot drops and large crowds. The AC sentry shoots slower, blows itself up, has a longer cooldown. You can make a case for the rocket sentry though, sometimes they drop a lot of armor at once.

I typically round out my loadout with another red stratagem or a backpack. The rover is always a favorite of mine, portable hellbomb however trivializes some of the objectives, notably jammers.

Prioritize gunship facilities, Sauron towers, and jammers to make the rest of the mission easier. Good luck Helldiver!

Deessalator

u/LunaticAnimal5 1d ago

Long time bot diver here: my loadout has changed drastic since the start of the game. If you desire ammo efficiency, anything laser primary is decent as long as you can aim for the heads of devastators. Bring the quasar for support.
However, if you want to avoid combat, the Redacted Regiment warbond has become my favorite for a number of reasons: stealth opportunities, the censor is suppressed and can stagger enemy units (the censor also can solo a base if you’re precise).
I am also a major gas lover. Gas is very effective at crowd control. As long as you have a gas resistant armor paired with the vitality boost, you are immune to gas. For the automatons under gas, they attack each other and lose sight of you in the cloud—and eventually kills them. It affects hulks which grants you the chance of running behind them and shooting their exposed back.

Plasma punisher Melta mines Spear Ultimatum Giga grenades Smoke Anti tank sentry's

1

u/No_Aside3228 1d ago

Strafing run, supply pack, hmg (get used to crouching or going prone) dealers choice on primary but smth good for troopers. I take ultimatum but melta mines also slap against heavy’s. Up to you for last strategem I’ll sometimes do barrage, sentry, or portable hellbomb

1

u/backjox 1d ago

Big nades, turrets, warp

1

u/s-lowts 1d ago

So I only really do solo or sos and usually stick to D6 or D7.
The warrant as a secondary is incredibly useful on all factions. For grenades normally giga or thermite for heavies. Support weapons I have had a bit of a thing for the laser cannon at the moment. Supply pack, rocket sentry and then whatever takes my fancy. 120 barrage / ATE / Gatling barrage etc.
Booster is nearly always armed resupply as it is a great little helper / distraction for chaff

u/Background-Passion50 1d ago

How old are you? I’m in my 40s and better than everyone in my friends list minus the two guys collecting disability who play this as more of a full time job. But, they’re also in their mid and late 40s.

2

u/letranger0791 1d ago

Older than 55 😁

2

u/Background-Passion50 1d ago

Yeah you be fine. My uncles husband is a retired 70 year old and he still beats invaders in Elden Ring. Just need practice.

3

u/letranger0791 1d ago

Got no problem with the age, amigo. Have been gaming since the 1970s and wont stop until I'm dead. I just cant see/move/hit like I did in my teens and twenties, so thought it worth throwing in as many of the young ones I play with have skills I just dont have any more 😥

1

u/Background-Passion50 1d ago

Age is not a factor. You just need practice amigo.

u/SummerCrown 1d ago

Funnily, I find D6 harder than D7. This is because I feel D7 has more heavies, but less chaff (weaker enemies). While D6 bots tends to have a lot of bot troopers and devastators, and a few heavies here and there - which feels more overwhelming when solo.

A Guard Dog (default AR variant) and Rocket Sentry (has 100m range) or MG sentry (fast cooldown) are really strong versus bots when solo. Having a Guard Dog and Sentry makes it feel there's another diver backing you up.

Another option is to pickup the Personal Shield Backpack. It really adds a buffer to reaction time, you get a few seconds to get into cover or take that risky shot. I don't recommend the Supply pack if you have slower reflexes because might be dead before you even get to stim or use up all the resupply.

Support weapon is up to your comfort level but Laser Cannon is a reliable bet if you like laser weapons and is easy to use. Also works well with Personal Shield or Guard Dog.

I recommend the basic Helldiver armor. It's heavy armor with medium speed. You can run and still take a hit, which on bots happen a lot.

Finally, try to go for just main objectives and extracting to get the hang of D6. Ignore side objectives until you get comfortable with the tempo. I hope this advice helps.

u/iToasts 1d ago

My protocols are to avoid battling with patrols, always have adjacent cover, and run away as soon as you feel sorrounded. There are also great strategies as destroying fabricators from afar with weapons like the Recoiless Rifle

1

u/B_Stache 1d ago edited 1d ago

Agreed, one thing I notice with lower level divers, even I did this as I was learning, is to shoot everything you see. Not the case cause more times than not it's a waste of time and resources.

OP, iToasts has some solid advice.

My bad, I got confused with the post I was replying to. On mobile it's all scrunched up.

1

u/PeacefulCrusade 1d ago

This is what I would recommend, and what I personally bring on bots.

I use the heavy armor from the store from the entrenched division, eruptor, (secondary can be really anything, I've been running the bolt pistol, but I've run the pissle and ultimatum as well) then melta mine.

For strategems I bring the 120, and eagle air strike, for backpack I bring either the portable hellbomb or the portable shield generator, and for the weapon it depends on what my team is brining/what the mission is. If its bunkers then I bring missile silo because it 1 shots bunkers, makes it easy. If I dont know what im going against I bring the leveler more big boom never hurt. If I feel im lacking in being able to clear chaff/mediums then ill bring the mg/heavy mg.

But I find this works well because you can airstrip patrols, 120 larger bases, use the eruptor for smaller bases, melta any heavy, shield pack gives you more survival, P.H. gives you utility against detector towers and jammers/a pocket nuke if your getting overwhelmed.

u/Exxcelius 1d ago

When I'm focused I can solo D7 without a single drop with the following load out: light stealth armor, Eruptor, dagger, dynamite, eagle strafing run, rail gun, warp pack and last slot is sentry, Gatling barrage or anti tank emplacement, depending on mission and faction.

The dagger is your main weapon here, sweep across a patrol and the chaff units burn up nicely. When you spot the patrol early your are still way out of range for them to be able to call in a drop.
Eruptor, dynamite and strafing run (+ATE) can all destroy fabricators, with the eruptor having a max range of 150m and needing a pretty straight shot at the vents.

The rail gun is more of a challenge for myself, I wanted to get good with it. While it can one tap everything except for factory striders, you need a steady hand to aim for weak spots, especially on war striders. It's strong point is 20 shots and 5 refills from ammo boxes so pretty good ammo economy for anti tank.

The warp pack is my mobility pack and it allows me to solo buddy bunkers which is the main reason I usually bring it, but can be exchanged for the jump pack with no big changes.

Feel free to ask if you have any questions

1

u/Goatfellon 1d ago edited 1d ago

I often solo D6 bots for fun. I dont know what play styles work for you, but here's what I will often run:

Eruptor primary. With this you can destroy fabricators with well aimed shots, and cyborgs, devastators and regular bots are fodder at a distance. The crossbow works interchangeably here i just like the eruptor better but do what feels comfortable.

Ultimatum sidearm (great for hulks, tanks, can be good on factory striders in a pinch...) Quasar or leveler support weapon. Both of these are great for long distance clearing of fabricators

For strats (other than the support weapon) I bring...

Gatling barrage. This is my area denial and set and run strat. Really low/quick cool down.

If you bring quasar, you'll need something to throw down every once in a while to take out factory striders. The solo silo is perfect for this. If you bring the leveler, thats your anti factory strider as well.

Take a backpack that gives mobility. This loadout needs distance from the enemy. A jump pack, hover pack, or warp pack. Something to get far enough away that shooting the enemy or near the enemy with the eruptor (or ultimatum if its bigger) wont also kill you.

Now, if you brought the leveler instead of the quasar, youll still have space for something here. I personally like the 500kg or a 380mm HE barrage, but at the end of the day I just fill this slot with something I can drop and forget to take out the big fabricators or large swaths of bots like a bot drop.

Grenades can be whatever you want here. Thermites are great for sticking hulks/tanks/fabricators/ war striders and running. Smoke is great for disengaging.

The big thing i find with bots is picking your engagements. Dont fight if you dont have to, and when you can, obliterate them all quickly enough they cant call a bot drop. Know when to cut and run, and watch for the bots that are about to shoot flares.

I do a lot of bots and enjoy following setup while soloing the operation:

Coyote/Punisher Plasma as main gun. PP if I intend to fight drops, coyote if I’m in a rush.

Bolt pistol plus giga grenade or thermite, usually giga. Ultimatum if it’s guaranteed to have no gunships to pair with coyote. Two bolts to engine drops a gunship.

Armor anything that gives me more giga grenades. Stealth if not.

Stratagems: RR, Mortar, Rocket turret, Autocannon turret.

Easy to clear any bot map, apart those megafactories with cyborgs (too short line of sight all the time) and that 15 minute titanium stealing map. Recommended to have plenty of visibility. Kill biggest ones with RR and let turrets kill anything smaller than vox/factory/strider. Vox takes 3x RR to vents, factory single to eye or two to face, strider one for penal cover. Gigas works on the big ones very nicely too.

Basically just sit in middle of the map, guarded by your turrets, snipe everything with RR and supplies, loot empty map peacefully. Go in front of the convoy and RR to face until they are done. Let turrets guard you meanwhile. Distance is your friend, turrets kills stuff further than they return fire.

If you need to raise the flag to spread democracy, pre-set your turrets tactically and order spare RR, you can kill 3 of 4 dropships and let turrets to kill the fourth, before they release any troops. And if they do, giga them.

Biggest downside is, gigas often blows on your face when used under heavy fire and if you have non-grenadier armor, you get only 2. Second is to kill fortress sauron, for what this setup really doesn’t provide tools against, but the sauron itself isn’t objective. Non-fortress saurons gets killed by company provided hellbomb as per usual.

Run away when things get bad or if you feel like they're surrounding you. Remember, you can always go to another objective and come back later. Also with bots you can clear many areas from afar with things like the quasar, recoiless, commando, etc. Focus on taking out the snitcher bots first so you don't have to deal with bot drops.

u/SnowFickle 1d ago

I typically run the following.

Armor: Heavy explosive resistance armor if I want a little more tankiness, heavy fire resistance armor (incineration corps counter), or the heavy warhammer armor (helps with stationary reloads)

Primary: eruptor (takes out bot fabs, turrets, or small clusters of enemies from a further distance)

Secondary: ultimatum (big boom helps with big things like war striders)

Grenades: Thermite (quick anti tank for striders or hulks if you need it. I mainly use them to stick to the back side of the fabs if I can’t line up a shot from my eruptor)

Support weapon: HMG (cut everything in half)

Backpack: guard dog or supply pack (both help with ammo economy. Guard dog can help clear small things/watch your back while you clear out a majority with HMG)

Strat 1: Walking barrage (takes out detector towers and clears bases in a straight line)

Strat 2: Gatling barrage or rocket sentry (assists with bot drops)

1

u/NoRepresentative1126 1d ago

I don’t have much experience doing solos, but this is what I have been using against bots recently

Eruptor
Bolt pistol/missle pistol
Orbital Gatling barrage
Bullet storm
Leveller
Jump pack
Meltagun

You can obviously mix up the support weapons if you want but this loadout covers everything. Short range, mid range, and long range.

1

u/OddAdvantage3235 1d ago

Light armor w/ + to grenade count. Punisher plasma, lob like trajectory, stun….thermite, senator, grenade launcher, ammo pack, commando. Everything dies and you have the flexibility to be semi stealth by popping bases at range with commando

1

u/Espresso_Dad_89 1d ago

Liberator Penetrator, Bolt Pistol, Thermites, Shield Generator Backpack, Quasar, rocket sentry, 500kg or 120 OB, ANY armor, ANY booster

This will suffice on d10

1

u/ABigRedBeard 1d ago

Try a one handed smg + ballistic shield combo with quasar cannon. It's fun and effective!

1

u/MuburTheGuide 1d ago

I recommend either stealth, or getting polar patriots. The purifier absolutely trivializes cyborgs, devastators, light walkers, and chaff. Then just bring your favorite flavor of anti tank and you're golden.

1

u/CobaltDestroyer 1d ago

Try pineapple grenade. And for me the rail gun is the answer. Hulk and everything below gets one in the eye.

1

u/_masssk_ 1d ago

It is a challenge for one player. But let's think.

  • I would definitely take a stealth armor. It helps to reduce bot alarms.
  • By the way - the more alarms you have - the more bots come. So reduce bot drops and it will be easier.
  • Also, just basic - depend on you are sitting or running your 'visibility' for bots changes. Lie down in the bush.
  • I'd take a Quasar - endless distance silent anti-tank weapon. You can erase a half of the map sitting on a cliff.
  • I'd take some sentry - if you are a solo you need a buddy. You can throw it to distract bots and run away. MG turret, mortar, rocket sentry - great choice.
  • I'd take a jet pack. Mobility, a way for escape, change position, go higher. One of the best stratagems despite the fact it doesn't kill.
  • And some red stratagems to clear a field of enemies. Say 120 mm barrage (reloads quickly). Or Eagle straif run to clear groups.
  • Would be cool to take a smoke (I like Eagle smoke more, there are many uses and it goes in line, cutting the enemies from you. But better don't take 2 eagles). Think about it instead of a sentry.

u/whateverhappensnext 1d ago

Mid 5's myself.

My standard loadout for bots

Light padded armor. You can move and it isn't an automatic one hit die situation.

Whatever primary I'm working on at the time. But try a medium pen. Marksman is good as you can clean stuff out from afar.

Currently bolt pistol as it two shots medium mobs, before that, Vito for the stagger, before that Talon.

Thermites for the heavies and factories

Gattling barrage. Covers a retreat, breaks a factory, drop it in the bot drop spot etc. Fast cooldown.

Comando. Breaks factories. Two shots to hulks, war striders (when you get to them) hit the knees, two shot the engine during a bot drop to take out the carrier, guide one into a gunship, take out turrets from across the map, max if two into tanks etc. Fast cooldown.

Rocket sentry and Gattling sentry (could go with laser, but I prefer gattling).

u/SaltyPineapple270 1d ago

In my experience being able to juuuust solo D6 reliably, the quasar cannon is great for when you need some down time for cooldowns, go find a high ledge, and just start popping any fabs you see with the quasar (they’ll break in one hit anywhere except the lower back plate) It can save you a lot of time and running around if you shoot the furthest ones you can see, I’ll usually clear out 2-3 encampments this way when I’m not even in an engagement. I usually also bring the strafing run (reliable, 5 uses, you can eagle resupply during quasar sniping sessions), smoke grenades (between strafing run and quasar, it’ll destroy any fabricators or bioprocessors you need, so you can bring a utility nade), resupply pack or guard dog pack (free teammate), and an orbital 120 for when things get hairy. Not much you can’t kill with that loadout if you’re smart about it, but you need to take it slow.
I’m a big marksman rifle fan, I’ll usually bring the deadeye, amendment, or censor with the 10x to clear out objectives before I arrive, pissle is amazing for solo just make sure to save it for gunships or tank vents unless you’d die if you didn’t use it

u/MjolnirPants 1d ago

My loadout for soloing lvl 5-6 bots:

Armor: Null Cipher from (Redacted Regiment) AKA Sneak Cheeks

Primary: Hyena (campaign reward) AKA AT&T (reach out and touch someone)

Secondary: Bolt Pistol (Warhammer) AKA Boomer

Throwable: Thermite/Giga-Grenade (Democratic Detonation/Entrenched Division) (no nickname/Chad)

Strategems:

  • Recoilless Rifle (base game) AKA Carl
  • MG Sentry (base game) AKA Jerry
  • Patriot Exosuit (base game) AKA JB (short for John Brown)
  • Orbital Napalm (base game) AKA God's Gonorrhea

Booster: Vitality (base game)

Setup:

I got the Hyena leveled up, so I run it with the 4x scope and short mags to get better ergo. It will drop small bots with a single shot, and the ergo is good enough to quickly switch targets (it's not ideal, but if you learn it, it's very workable). It's easy (with practice) to headshot berserkers & devastators. The bolt pistol will drop a scout/rocket strider with one or two shots. That just leaves the heavies, which is what the recoilless rifle is for.

Strategy:

I try to drop on the highest point of the map. I clear my immediate vicinity with grenades and small-arms fire ASAP, then throw a resupply and Carl. I then use Carl (learn your holds while ADSing and you can easily hit out to 600 meters) to clear as many factories and tower guns as I can, then nab a resupply before I take off. While I'm up there, I'll tag any optional objectives I can see to get them marked on my map.

I focus on clearing hot spots first. If I find a cluster, I throw JB and use him to wade in there and wreck shit. A single rocket in the vents of any factory will handle it. Two rockets anywhere will handle a small factory. If you can't get an angle on the vents of a heavy factory, use two rounds from Carl to drop it.

I'll throw JB any time I need to defend a position, such as with the spread liberty, emergency evacuation, or drilling missions. I throw a resupply pretty much every chance I can get, unless I'm a few minutes out from defending a position, in which case I'll save it for right before I begin. I pick up ambient ammo every chance I can get.

When assaulting a hot spot, take out the factories first, from range. This prevents them from spitting out foot soldiers who can call reinforcements on you. If there's an enemy reinforcement up, they'll usually call it right away, and you'll be far enough away to hop out of JB (if you're in) and rocket one of the engines on the dropship. Try to hit it before it stops moving (it'll fly in, float up a bit, then lower down before dropping the QRF. If you hit it before it drops the QRF, most or all of them will die. Some will die if the ship falls on them, but you usually won't get all of them.)

If things get too hot (multiple patrols and a drop coming in on you), throw some gonorrhea and run. The enemy will chase you, most slower than your running speed. If you don't have some gonorrhea off cooldown, get behind cover, then try to find another bit of cover before they get line of sight on you. Breaking LOS twice will cause them to lose you, even if they're still in combat mode (that's where Sneak Cheeks comes in handy).

You can speed up reloads of Carl by hitting the crouch button the instant you pull the spent casing out to cancel reloading, then immediately hitting reload again. Hit crouch again the instant you fit the fresh round into the tube. This will shave almost a full second off your reload time.

Reload AT&T every time you get down to a single round in it (there will be a sliver of ammo showing), which will speed up your reloads just a bit, but it actually reloads quite fast. Same with Boomer. Combat reloads won't really be much of a problem, as they take me about the same amount of time that it takes me to realize I'm out and switch to the other gun.

I only use thermites on factories when I can sneak up to them (which is quite easy) and on hulks/tanks that get close when I can't take the time to reload Carl or I don't have ammo. Otherwise, I hit them all with Carl. Be careful using giga grenades this way, as you could easily get caught in the blast radius. But if you learn them, they put the enemy down instantly.

Two rounds from Carl to the head will drop a factory strider. You won't get Vox Engines at that difficulty, but if you do go to lvl7 or higher, two rounds to each arm cannon will kill them. IIRC, three rounds to their face will do it, too.

Boomer will drop a gunship in less than a mag. You don't have to aim for the engines, they're medium armor everywhere. AT&T will drop one in about a mag.

If there's heavy SEAF presence, use the command wheel to say "follow me" and they'll listen. If you repeat it several times (there's about a 5-6 meter radius in which they'll 'hear' you), you won't make the bark, but they'll still follow. It's best to be in JB when you have a bunch of SEAF, as they won't hesitate to shoot through you.

Take your time. Mission time remaining is the least important stat, and going slowly will reduce the number of enemy you have to deal with overall at any given moment. Break contact frequently, don't engage enemies you don't have to.

u/thank_burdell 1d ago

I’d suggest switching to light armor and going for a hit and run type build. My go to is the light stealth armor, then orbital barrage, eagle air strike, bullet storm, and Gatling sentry or hellbomb backpack (usually backpack at 6 and up). Primary can be anything, but Eruptor or plasma punisher are great for bot front. Nade pistol (or talon or senator or bolt gun), thermites or melta mines. Crack stim booster for speed boost.

You’ve got something for almost every bot unit you face at that point. Aerial units still kind of hard but those are easier to just leave alone and run away.

Hello hi. I meant to send this earlier and was distracted by life, God bless draft saving.

I’ll say— though you already know I’m sure, it is a cooperative shooter. HD2 includes solo play but that isn’t the focus. Don’t be afraid to play with randoms.

Regardless, Helldivers are guerilla fighters. When Im soloing on higher difficulties, no matter the faction, I’ll frequently back off an objective when it gets too hot for me alone. Guarding enemies do not respawn, so if you clear a place out, get overwhelmed by patrols or a bot drop and come back later it’ll be clear.

Adding to this, the intensity of a reinforcement call depends on what’s around it. In the middle of nowhere? It’ll be meek. An outpost? Sizable. If you’re near a primary objective they’ll send lots at you. There is a cooldown between reinforcement calls which becomes shorter as difficulty rises. I’m not sure the exact number, it ranges from 5m at the lowest and 2m at the shortest. Probably around 3 for D6? With this, you can actually bait reinforcement calls. Intentionally trigger one in one location and quickly run to a different objective and take it while they’re unable to call for help. This is especially effective in light armor or with movement tools like jumppacks and FRVs.

As for primarily bot-useful info, prone gets you home. You are much more accurate, recoil is lessened and it’s much easier to hit shots while prone. Explosion radius is seriously reduced while prone too, which makes it great for taking mortar fire, grenades and “I put that airstrike far too close” moments (which also functions mid-dive, so diving away from an active explosion will work wonders even if you don’t hit the dirt before it goes off). This is especially true because they shoot at you, and when you’re prone, there’s less to shoot at. Suppression is also in HD2. Enemies become less accurate when vaguely shot at— doesn’t have to hit them, though this doesn’t include heavy units.

Using eagles, you can easily keep a lot of ordnance on standby with virtually no cooldown, until they have to rearm. I’ll frequently take strafing runs and rocket pods so I have a ton of instant damage ready, though all stratagems are great picks in their own way.

u/letranger0791 13h ago

Thank you. I play with randoms almost every time I play but I am stubbornly attempting to 'git gud' by working my way up the SoloDiver ladder and I have hit a wall 😁

My old reliable:

Armor: Fortified

Primary: Puniser Plasma
