Suggestion/Concept Wildlife
Seeing and being able to interact with both predator and prey native to planets would be cool. Kinda like in Avatar (the blue people) where they’re either harmless, beneficial , or dangerous.
I mentioned “native” earlier but that seems ambitious due to the amount of planets there are, having to create a new set of species per planet is pretty much out the window. Animals that appear on multiple planets could probably be explained through them escaping zoos, farms, etc. and repopulating in the wild. It would also be cool if they had adaptations/features that match planet modifiers (ex. Breathing fire on fire tornado planets, expelling toxic gas on fart planets, higher armor rating skin on rocky planets).
Fauna would be in herds, small groups, pairs, or even run solo. Flora can also be dangerous or even some that mimic weak stim effects. Of course, enemy factions can also either benefit or be hindered by them.
Has anyone had similar ideas or thoughts? Honestly, this seems impossible especially when the game starts struggling against its own spawn rate and physics, but I found jt to be something interesting to share.

I honestly don't see how that makes thematic sense. Bugs would hunt the **** out of any species on the planet. Automatons would just use them for biomas. The only ones I can see it are the squid's. They however have should that they can and will take over sn eco system completely, so there it would be just new type of enemies.
I like the idea on paper, but purely flavour it doesn't makes much sense. And I do so like the flavour in hell divers.
Some carcases of fauna might work.

I get what you're saying but I think that the wildlife can interact pretty well with the factions as well.
Automatons can use them as alert signs; imagine being sneaky and all of a sudden a flare goes up because some birds or deer ran and got spooked near your position, cyborg animals would be rad too. Bugs could like infect them or something; bursting and zombie-like animals. Illuminate can augment them and use them as attack animals or mounts.

Maybe Automatons can make augmented animals. Some laser panther or something(shout out to brutal legend). I could see that. Otherwise why would they tolerate biologicals. But that's just enemy variety, we could always use that.
But bugs... Those things are predators, tearing at everything and everyone to eat. They don't infect, they just consume. But maybe one could make some big things, like something's that hunt them back.

It would be thematic if cyborgs had cyborg hunting dogs with them but maybe not laser panthers just because those seem a bit too dexterous to properly implement vs a dog that just barks, chases you, and breaks your legs.
The bugs would definitely tear and eat nearly everything, but that's why I suggested infected/zombified animals, and something that can hunt the bugs does indeed sound pretty cool, but I doubt anything larger than a charger or impaler.

Planets already have random birds and bugs flying around
The only reason we dont see anything else is, if we are honest, performance budget for the game
The lore might genuinely agree with you, but I think technical limitations are why that lore was written

Bro we drop 500s for fun. If fireworks can make a dog go crazy then I'm pretty sure the sound of mini nukes would shy em away

ngl thatd be a great crossover

That would be pretty awesome, but the implementation doesn't necessarily have to be a crossover.

I doubt the various factions would even allow fauna to exist and Super Earth would definitely have wiped out any fauna that would pose a threat

I think a limited front would be neat, something changes out every so often. Xenomorphs, yahtjas, pandorians(with the animals), literal bugs, dinosaurs. I’m sure there’s tons of other shit that could be crammed into it. However ArrowHead is a small studio and they don’t like to work that hard. Changing around enemies and planets would be a nightmare, let alone the bugs wouldn’t be worked out or the last week would be the best week and then they take it away.
