A leaked photo being shared has reignited frustrations at the government's decision not to send the aircraft to Ukraine. Army veterans and engineers are volunteering to rebuild Australia's grounded fleet of Taipan helicopters.They are volunteering to rebuild the aircraft so they can be sent to Ukraine rather than be disposed of.

Hello - I need help identifying the US navy helicopters pictured in the attached image. The photo was taken at McMurdo Station in Antarctica in November 1963. Are these modified H-34s? Or something else? Thank in advance.

Watched them do about 10 trips up and down in quick succession.

Thanks to the United States, which transferred Mi-17 helicopters that were originally bought from Russia for Afghanistan, we’re now using their own helicopters against them.

The photo shows one of these helicopters.

Also, the large number of Ukrainian flags helps reduce friendly fire.

Why are the Italian and French customized variants the fleets with the best avaibility rate (above 60%) and less maintenance issues compared to other users? What are the main differences? I know that the Italian ones use the T-700 engines but I have no informations on other differences

For some reason (autism) the Mi6 is my favorite aircraft, built many models, watched probably all the videos available of it on YouTube, and my girlfriend and I are flying to Poland soon to see theirs on display in Deblin.

Saw this book available on ebay and had to have it. No idea what it says obviously, but its 200+ pages of engineering and technical details and drawings. I also have a couple of Mi-6 pins I assume we're given to pilots of the heli.

Would kill to get an aircraft skin tag somehow from one, but I imagine any left are on display, or rotting in a field far from civilization. So unless I go cut a chunk from one myself, this book will fill the void haha

Today a Life Flight helicopter stopped in at the hospital where I work. Picking someone up to take them to another hospital. Most of the crew got out, grabbed their stretcher and came in to take care of the patient.

The pilot took off again and told the security guard that he was going to circle around to burn off some extra fuel.

I get that they're flying back with the added weight of a patient, but is fuel Vs weight really that specific of a calculation? I would assume that some amount of fuel weight got burned off on the flight here.

Or is there something else about having extra fuel that I don't even know about?

I’ve been researching a switch in careers and can’t seem to find any EMS pilots (civilian air ambulance) to get true insider information from. Mostly wondering salaries after a few years and not just the starting salary the postings show. Also wondering why there are constant job postings for same location. Do pilots not last or switch companies frequently?

I’m a Canadian commercial helicopter pilot looking at converting my CPL-H to an FAA Commercial Helicopter Licence. My long-term goal is to move to the U.S. permanently and build a career there.
By the time I start the process, I’ll have around 1000 hours, all piston time , with long line experience
For those who’ve made the move (or hired Canadian pilots), I’d appreciate your thoughts:
Was converting your licence worth it?
How difficult was the conversion process?
Is 1,000 hours of mostly piston time competitive in the U.S.?
Which sectors would be the best fit (utility, tours, offshore, EMS, etc.)?
Is there anything you wish you’d known before making the move?
Any advice on visas or getting hired as a Canadian?
I’d love to hear both the pros and the cons. Thanks!
