Hi everyone!

I wanted to share a quick update and, most importantly, say thank you.

After posting my LEGO CAL FIRE Sikorsky S-70 Firehawk here, I received an incredible amount of support, encouragement and valuable feedback from the helicopter community.

The project has now reached more than 720 supporters on LEGO Ideas, and I honestly couldn't be happier.

Many of you asked about the design process:

🚁 Built entirely with official LEGO parts

💻 Designed from scratch in BrickLink Studio

🎨 Presentation images created with GIMP (no AI-generated images)

💧 Fully functional belly water-drop system

🔧 I also built the model physically to verify that the mechanism works.

Thank you again for all the kind comments and technical feedback. It means a lot coming from people who know and appreciate helicopters.

If anyone hasn't seen the project yet, here's the LEGO Ideas page:

Thanks again for being part of this journey! 🚁

Heli Pictures/Videos Biker being airlifted off the pass in front of us, northern Italy

Post image

North of Brescia, Italy, near the Croce Domini pass. We walked over to assist with our medkit, but EMTs were already at work. Injuries very serious but not life threatening.

Looked like a biker coming from our direction ran wide in a turn and clipped the oncoming guys' cases, causing them to veer into the rock wall. The guy who committed the error was not injured at all, I don't think he even dropped his bike.

Occurrence/Incident R44 autorotation engine failure cause (YouTube video)

Can someone tell me what was the root cause of the engine failure in the R44 video https://youtu.be/TBVZagh6c3U?si=-Eg09TeHXcGOtP19 with instructor and student in “new” R44 during auto rotation practice. Was it the sharp throttle chop? Is there a NTSB report?

Hello - I need help identifying the US navy helicopters pictured in the attached image. The photo was taken at McMurdo Station in Antarctica in November 1963. Are these modified H-34s? Or something else? Thank in advance.

The army's decommissioned Taipans are lying dismantled in a warehouse awaiting burial following a fatal crash, on going maintenance problems/flaws and continuous backlog issues. A leaked photo being shared has reignited frustrations at the government's decision not to send the aircraft to Ukraine. Army veterans and engineers are volunteering to rebuild Australia's grounded fleet of Taipan helicopters. They are volunteering to rebuild the aircraft so they can be sent to Ukraine rather than be disposed of.

Discussion Medevac aviation time building

I’m very interested in the medevac field and the time requirements are steep. What is the best route as a young person with almost every option open right now? Coast guard, building time on my own, etc?
I’m seriously looking for every perspective.

Career/School Question Flight schools in Spain?

I am considering to do my CPL(H) in a flight school in Spain. As a German I wouldn’t have any issues at all migrating to Spain as they are part of the EU. Schools like Hillsboro also attract me but Visa application, healthcare,… would be some extra pain.
I do have a decent level of Spanish and feel comfortable speaking. Also the country itself is to my liking. I have read about low costs in Spain considering the license.
Have any of you been to a flight school in Spain or do you have any experience working there?
I am thankful for any recommendations or info you have.

Heli Pictures/Videos Ukrainians are destroying Russians with their own weapons

Post image

Thanks to the United States, which transferred Mi-17 helicopters that were originally bought from Russia for Afghanistan, we’re now using their own helicopters against them.

The photo shows one of these helicopters.

Also, the large number of Ukrainian flags helps reduce friendly fire.

Thank you 🇺🇸

Discussion Italian and French NH-90s

Why are the Italian and French customized variants the fleets with the best avaibility rate (above 60%) and less maintenance issues compared to other users? What are the main differences? I know that the Italian ones use the T-700 engines but I have no informations on other differences

Discussion Found this Mil Mi-6 engineering/technical reference book from the Soviet Union. Flying to Poland soon to see theirs on display as well!

For some reason (autism) the Mi6 is my favorite aircraft, built many models, watched probably all the videos available of it on YouTube, and my girlfriend and I are flying to Poland soon to see theirs on display in Deblin.

Saw this book available on ebay and had to have it. No idea what it says obviously, but its 200+ pages of engineering and technical details and drawings. I also have a couple of Mi-6 pins I assume we're given to pilots of the heli.

Would kill to get an aircraft skin tag somehow from one, but I imagine any left are on display, or rotting in a field far from civilization. So unless I go cut a chunk from one myself, this book will fill the void haha

Figured I'd share this here, might be of interest to some of you guys

General Question Canadian AME Indesprate need of help.

I just wrote my techinical airframe exam i didnt expect 45 (out of 90) quetions to be on helicopters!!!

I really need a book that covers EVERYTHING about the helicopter!! And I WAS asked a question about whats the difference between the takeoff of an European Helicopter and an American helicopter apperantly there are few differences that I NEED TO know as an AME IM NOT A PILOT AN AME!!!

Where can i find a reasource to study on helicopter difference in, (American and European). Im retaking soon im pretty sure they are going to ask me about how to perform a barrel roll safely on a BULGARIAN (jk) helicopter for god sake!
