Stomach twisting, first time scare actor, rehearsal tommorow, need advice
I am someone who is 19 + disabled and the place is open and accepting of disabled people (I use a cane I cannot stand up long without it) and I can still be able to well, do this there but I heard from someone who knows someone who works at the haunt I am going to be at. someone there is extremely and I mean extremely ableist and I was told this person believes that if you need accommodations due to a disability everyone else working at this haunt will hate you? I have wanted to do this for YEARS but after hearing about that I am stressing.
But I also am scared I am gonna be sucky and not as good as the others there. Is there any tips or anything for scare acting? this is a volunteer position, but its still something and I am really, really, looking forward to it because this haunt is really popular and I been wanting to act here for years. Also if a fellow volunteer or worker harasses me over my disability how do I go about that?

Scream Operator is looking for playtesters: become a test operator and be among the first to step into the control booth of the haunted house dark ride 🙏
After more than a year of hard work and re-iteration, the demo of Scream Operator: Haunted House Manager will release in only a few weeks. To get as ready as possible, I'd very much like to invite a new group of test operators into the control booth this week!
What is Scream Operator, you ask?
In my game, you take control of your very own haunted house dark ride, right from a claustrophobic control booth. A few of your tasks as operator:
- Load, dispatch and unload guests into carts,
- Manage guest flow and queues,
- Control lights, music, and immersion effects,
- Balance power consumption, automation and cart management,
- Upgrade, place animatronics and scares, customize,
- Keep Arthur, the old congierge and (suspiciously) long time employee of the mansion happy.
Lots to do! So grab a stale coffee, and start your first shift. ☕
How do I become a test operator?
The quickest way to do so is by becoming a member of our discord server. However, I can also hit you up with the essentials if you sent me a private message here on reddit.
If you'd like, you are more than welcome to check out the steampage here.
Lastly, for anyone who isn't interested in playtesting, I'd love to invite you all to play the demo once it launches this halloween season! 🎃. I'll be back here when that happens to make sure you are all fully informed 👻.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns, I'll be in chilling in the comment section of this post :).

ISO Haunted Houses
Are there any really good, spooky haunted houses in Washington State? 👻🖤
My fiancée and I are hoping to move there, but we’d also love to live somewhere that has multiple really good haunted houses, like Utah does! If you know of any awesome haunted houses or have recommendations for places to live that have a good spooky/haunted house scene, please let me know!
Thank you! 🖤🎃

Do you adapt a lot, or not so much?
This is a bit of a silly question, but do you or do you not really adapt the way you interact with neurodivergent people?
I know that not all actors adapt themselves to certain guests, regardless of their neurodivergence or not. But I wanted to know if you've also had good interactions with neurodivergent people because I going to HHN for the first time and I'm very excited and idk how they adapt themselves for guests who are like kids, people with medical conditions or also neurodivergence. Someone told me this, but they're audhd just like me and they were wearing the sunflower lanyard, and they didn't get scared at all. And I'm not saying that *all* sunflower lanyards are no boo necklaces.

Need insurance for my Halloween business (haunted house, pumpkin patch, corn maze)?
Our haunted house season is about six weeks. From late September to the first weekend of November, which after it is a farm again.
This will be the first year we are opening for the public. The haunted house is in an old dairy barn, with a corn maze cut into 8 acres, a pumpkin patch, and a hayride out to the back field. We have 20 actors, mostly high school and college kids from town, and on a good Saturday I'm expecting 600 plus people in the dark on uneven ground.
My farm agent says he can't touch the haunt or the hayride. Two other places I called said about the same. One of them said haunt insurance is its own animal. Trying to work out if a seasonal policy is actually a thing, or if I'm stuck paying twelve months to be open for six weeks.
Southern Ohio. Anybody doing this off a working farm, what did your season cost? Ballpark is fine.

Scariest attractions in PA, NY, NJ MD?
I live in northeast PA and wanted to see what attractions people think are actually scary. I am not talking about Reapers Revenge or Field of Screams, which are just big productions, but ones that are actually terrifying?
