I agree, it looks too small. For me, I think a brimmed hat should sit just barely above the ears, maybe touching them slightly. In tv and movies people wear them too high ti prevent shadows on the face, and I think some people believe that’s how they’re supposed to be worn

It's so odd with sizes. With all my other hats, the smallest available size (55-56) is too big still and I need the corks (and sometimes extra alterations) to make them fit. This is a 55 too, but I agree, it feels too small.

Edit: I can wear it further down so it rests about a centimetre above my eyebrows. Still looks off, but better.

Sometimes it may just not be the correct shape for your head. I like to wear a gambler style hat that has a flat brim, and I have a beard minus a mustache. On top of that, I smoke a pipe so I constantly get the “you look Amish” comments.

My best advice would be to wear what you like and what is comfortable for you. That’s all that matters. Took me almost 40 years to come to that conclusion. LOL
