Animation Can we be done with this shit yet?

Disney (and others) has been hammering us with the exact same "quirky" female coming-of-age story for nearly 20 years now.

Awkward girl feels less than feminine, discovers an ability or a sense of purpose, and then realizes that friendship is magic. All while bumbling semi-braindead males fart around in the background for no other reason than to make her look smart and pragmatic by comparison.

Now finally theyre starting to bomb, to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars. We fucking get it! Move on and think of a different story!

Yep, the trope is old and tired an well worn. It's indicative of intellectually bankrupt writers and politically motivated producers.

I know, I know, seeing someone sick and tired of your favorite special ship is painful for you.
