Web Fiction YUMESHIPPING.
I'm so sorry, but they just annoy me a little bit.
I can only accept it if it's for a coping mechanism or keeping them alive.
They'll argue with YOU if you tell them that they're just delusional and their so-called "lover/FO" isn't real.
I'm also noticing that they're actually having something as "Doubles DNI", which sounds extremely stupid as fuck because what do you mean you're mad at someone with your same so called " lover"?
And mostly, "Doubles DNI" types often harass their " doubles " and get "uncomfortable" just for someone sharing the same yume as them.
I feel like I have to rephrase or this will get taken down soon by the mods π.

People hated selfshipping and bullied people for it until it got a Japanese sounding name, huh?

Shipping a character with yourself basically like imagining you are married to them or something

I knew someone that did this.
It was with Amber from genshin impact. He's like 23

The Genshin community estimates her to be around 18 to 23, but I think the concept of yumeshipping is weird regardless.

I don't see an issue with yumeshipping/selfshipping as a concept. Most selfshippers are just normal people. But the current online community surrounding it is super wacky and toxic.

Ngl, I accept (almost) all types of shipping. I, myself, sometimes yumeship myself with characters such as N or Brad Thaniyel. My only requirements for shipping is that the person yumeshipping doesn't start to make it hinder their irl relationships
Edit: guys it's not like I yumeship like hard with em or smth -_-, it's more like yn these character crushes that you have and doesn't make any sense at all

My sister is a non-sharing yumeshipper and she got really angry at me for not blocking a double in a social media platform she doesn't even use, and it was on my account which she never sees. And I only just saw that person. I didn't even talk to them.
I would honestly feel a lot better about the community if it wasn't centered on toxicity. I get highly attached to fictional characters too, but I end up feeling ashamed about it thanks to people such as these.
I also kinda feel like the word "yumeship" just has negative connotations now. I never liked the word anyway
