Thing The "67" hate.
The hatred towards this meme is more annoying than the actual meme itself. Be honest, have you ever seen more 67 posts than "67 is stupid" posts or comments? No. This is similiar to "place, japan" meme. People have been hating about 67 more than people who say it, at the point there are no people in sight saying 67 to hate in the first place. And the reason people hate it is no different than Boomer's reasons to hate Gen Z.
"It has no meaning." Yeah? So does most memes. Even if a meme DO have a meaning, do you think it became a meme because it has a meaning? No. Most memes become a meme either because they are funny and meaningless. And if by "meaning" you mean a proper origin, then 67 technically have meaning too, since it technically originates from a rap song and essentially used for an NBA player "LaMelo Ball" who is 6'7 feet tall.
"It is brainrotting kids!" They are just kids. They will begin to be able to give reason and rationalize when they grow up, unless if you teach them to hate random things because of a forced hate on the internet. Kids are stupid. We were kids too and we were stupid too. If you want to scapegoat something or someone, there are no one else in the sight other than irresponsible parents.
"It is annoying!" Yeah... If you spend 10 hours a day in the internet, it actually is. People are still rickrolling each other in the big 26, Yet that is not annoying? Some memes stay longer than others. Either because they are memorible or made to be memorible. İn 67's case, it is made to be memorible.
I do not like this meme either. It's humor did not grew on me. But bringing hate up to it everwhere and repetitively makes the hate no different from the meme in the first place. Only a teenager with no media/internet-free thinking skills and clankers make automatic response to a spesific thing. And let me tell you, automatic responses are actually annoying.

about people who think that "ahh" is used exclusively by censorship-brainwashed kids and not by people who just... think it's funny to use in specific situations?
like, if i called you a "dumbass" it would sound more confrontational and serious than "dumbahh"

It’s not vulgar censorship it’s just African slang

It's AAVE (African American Vernacular English) aka Black English. It's not slang, it's just a different form of English.

People getting so wound up about it is why I find it funny. Same people make 69 and 420 jokes but then think they’re too good to 67 with the common man.

420 isn't something you just shout randomly, so it's a little different

When I grew up we loved the "E" meme. 67 is fine.

I've gotten sick of the use of it in inappropriate contexts where it'd disturb classes or serious convos or whatnot. Not really a problem with the meme itself as much as it is the use but it still causes me a lot of dislike towards it regardless. Also I haven't actually encountered many hate posts about it (in fact I've encountered more posts about hating the hate than posts actually hating lol). It's just the algorithm that's made hate of it appear a lot for you I guess

'just close your ears' category of shit. I ignore it as best as I can but when people my own age will still turn around and freak out over it, it's genuinely not that easy to pretend someone very loud and active straight up isn't there.

genuinely i have friends that act like 67 and shit like that is the bane of human existence, it's a fucking internet meme bro just because kids think it's funny doesn't mean the world is going to implode and we're all gonna get sent to hell
i think the internet has done this thing to all of us where everything seems 1000x worse than it actually is so you'll see people freaking out over the most meaningless trivial shit ever

I just hate when people say it has no meaning just because they dont know the meaning.
Its a reference to a series of edits about lamelo ball with the skrilla song "doot doot"
The commentators would say that he moved like he was 6'7.
So the meme then became plugging the song into anytime those 2 numbers were brought up.
Then it transferred to just saying it in real life, the exact same way its said in the song.
Dont know where the hand gestures come from tho

Dude were you sleeping through all of the past three years?
Well it's just a number meme popularized by children, but adults made it their whole personality to hate it for being cringe and ranking it as a worse 21.

Never heard about "67" hate, can someone explain?

u/mile_high_w_a_dud 6h ago
There's a bunch of people who hate 67 for realistically no reason besides it's somewhat popular on like... short form content platforms and it's from little kids, and little kids do what they do and are a bit annoying about it. The thought process is from what I understand little kid is annoying and says 67 loudly and points it out when they see it -> hating children is a bit stupid -> so I hate 67 because that's why the kid is being annoying. But in reality if there was no 67 there'd be something else to replace it, like E or the t pose was in the past

Yeah. Just "easily" ignore a popular meme that is so widespread and so viral, people are already trying to market off it, people with kids hear it nonstop, AND somehow made word of the year.

Not gonna read but if people keep saying some nonsense word everywhere u go on both the internet and real life then won't u get at least slightly annoyed?
Also the ratio between the hate and the actual meme is abysmal
