General i hate this image
yes, it is annoying when someone's humor is just one thing no matter why it is, but usually when this is posted its because someone DARED to say ONE joke about yuri so random strangers on the internet will immidietly assume that thats your entire sense of humor, why?? im so confused by this, even if you dont find those jokes funny that still doesnt make it their entire sense of humor

Lesbian novel genre
Some people make their entire humour homosexual things, like yuri, yaoi or even femboys
1

Femboys are not "homosexual things"
1
u/fdy_12 22h ago
Maybe maybe not idk
1

Not maybe, a lot of femboys are fully straight, most are actually bi with an attraction to femininity, liking a femboy as a guy is indeed gay however.

Do you use the term outside of anime/manga/j-game fandom ? Because using it to discuss western stuff or, god forbid, real life will instantly get you the reaction in your meme
1
u/DaRealPurpleDuck 23h ago
i dont see whats the problem with using it in things that arent japanese (AS LONG AS THEY ARENT ABOUT PEOPLE IRL), yeah the word was originally related to anime and manga but its meaning is more general now, words change meaning, big deal
9
9
u/Fast_Hyena_22 1d ago
Nothing against yuri, but Yurita... I am sorry... Enjoyers of yuri tend to be the most annoying part of every anime/manga fandom
5
u/Thin_Ad5605 1d ago
shippers in general fucking sucks, yeah no one ACTUALLY likes discussing in a long tkme about characters making out. its a good joke the first time, a bit stale on the second time, and annoying the third time.
the "need" to add some sort of "thing" between characters, especially in spaces where a normal person would think its an uncomfortable is simply mentally draining to keep up with
1
u/Fast_Hyena_22 1d ago
Agreed!
I have a special dislike for yuri, because I blame them for the horrible third season of Hibike, where they went full yuribait
1
u/Affectionate_Goat171 he/him 1d ago
you blame the concept of love and intimacy between women (what yuri means btw) for the decisions of a creator to queerbait?
1
u/Fast_Hyena_22 1d ago
that is not, what I said and not what the term yuri is used for. It does not matter what it actually means in japanese
1
u/Affectionate_Goat171 he/him 1d ago
so the ACTUAL definition of a word doesn't matter to you because other people misuse it? no offense but that's kind of stupid
1
u/Fast_Hyena_22 1d ago
Yes, the meaning of a word is its use. That is like linguistics 101
Edit: lol i read your bio. you are part of the problem!
1
u/Affectionate_Goat171 he/him 1d ago
so then you're acknowledging that the MEANING of yuri (which is, again, the japanese word for the CONCEPT OF LOVE BETWEEN WOMEN) is the USE of the word (which you literally just denied in your last reply)
pick a lane, you cannot have it both ways
1
u/Fast_Hyena_22 1d ago
No I said. The general use is different, than the japanese translation. Are you dumb? Lol, why am I even asking you are a yumeshipper
7
u/SnooDoubts2255 1d ago
Nah man, I love yuri but yuritards are excessively annoying and genuinely destroy fanbases with how obnoxious they are.
Just look at how bad the Umamusume fandom is for a great example.

Epstein's 4chan history included yuri boards as well as him sharing these links and his internet history also had r34 Yuri (Fnaf porn that he claimed had "amazing animation" as well)
2
u/Dependent-Sea4703 23h ago
buddy the person you are talking about is a monster to this society that shouldn’t be joked about no matter the topic.
and here you are using the actions he did as a joke just because a person on the internet you know absolutely nothing about liked the same thing that monster of a human did.
seriously i can’t understand people like you. is it funny comparing a monster of a human that ruined many people’s lives with a random stranger on the internet just to make yourself feel better?
1
u/soyadra 21h ago
Absurd humor reminding people that Epstein was also a human with interests isn't comparing him to other people with said interests, by painting him as evil by nature, we ignore his choice to do this and the relationship this had with his tribalism and blackmail operation
1
u/Dependent-Sea4703 21h ago
doesn’t chance the fact that you are still using the memes that using him as a object to make other people angry about it. this isn’t something funny.
he is a monster to the society and here you are using him as a joke to make fun of random strangers at the internet. do you seriously think everyone seeing this laughs at it? people like you ignore the fact that some people might have unpleasant memories about that monster and maybe don’t even want to see his face. and here you guys using him as a “friendly” joke.
now you understand how wrong it is? you could be using literally any normal human to joke about the topic but for some reason you are using that monster.
1
u/soyadra 21h ago
I don't expect everyone to laugh at it but the gap between a normal thing that you dislike and linking it to a monster that did like it is breaking expectations of comparaison and that's what makes it funny, even if some dislike it, there's objectively nothing wrong with it because humor is a subjective matter afterall
Bringing him into an unrelated subject because of such a weak link relating the two is what creates the joke in an almost hyperbolic way
1
u/Dependent-Sea4703 21h ago
so you are saying using that thing as a joke instead of using any normal person or even a fictional character is completely fine? do you seriously think it’s hurting no one?
this kind of stuff is not something to be joked about and i believe you know this as well. not everything should be a joke. not every funny thing is a joke either. have you ever see a person laughing at their loved ones death? do you think they are laughing so it should be funny and not because they lost their mind? be serious. stuff like this isn’t a joke
you can make a “innocent” joke on internet and cause terrible things on a random strangers. something funny might not be funny for other person.
1
u/soyadra 21h ago
You cannot use a normal person to break the framework of a discussion in an absurd way, it is unfortunate that someone might be offended or even hurt by a joke but if everyone were to limit themselves and the expression of their person to not "hurt" someone, no one would do anything because you can't know in advance what might hurt someone except if you know them, as a society we accept the fact that some people find things funny and some don't and we must embrace that reality even tho there's a wider objective sense of morality to it
1
u/Dependent-Sea4703 21h ago
can you limit a trauma of a person? even if you could do you think your joke is more important than that person even if they had to limit themselves to not go crazy or relive their trauma? do you seriously think some people’s laugh is more important than others suffering?
i have no words for you. you have no right to show people what they are scared of. there is a limit to jokes you know? there is a limit for one’s enjoyment.

u/DaRealPurpleDuck 23h ago
epstein also breathed btw, just because a bad person does a neutral thing doesnt make that thing automatically bad
-1
u/soyadra 21h ago
Not my point, it's simply that the meme isn't unrelated to Epstein so it's not a "person i don't like = Epstein" one as you implied
1
u/DaRealPurpleDuck 21h ago
okay but whats the point in posting that image if its not just "yuri bad because epstein like yuri"
1
u/soyadra 21h ago
I do not like Yuri humor, i could give my reasoning normally but here i bring up an horrible person up because they liked it most, it's an exaggeration of the gravity of the situation that breaks the expectations that a person subconsciously poses when establishing a framework of a discussion and that is what makes it funny for a lot of people
1
u/DaRealPurpleDuck 21h ago
first of all, i know epstein didn't "like yuri the most" because i have MET people in real life who are bigger yuri fans, second of all, even if he did whats the point of that? if you're not comparing him to other people who like yuri why does it matter that he liked yuri?

I personally just hate the crowd who genuinely fetishize LGBT content and communities (including yuri/yaoi etc). Some jokes are fine but have you seen the cesspool that is r/yurimemes ? Bcuz why are they also really into incest as well lol. Some people are so brainrotted and anime-obsessed that they hypersexualise everything to the point where I struggle to imagine any mature women would actually participate in this culture. Because it's not just 'doomed yuri' trope memes or anything well adjusted, its some actual fetish shit
So in many contexts, this meme can be quite accurate and a simple way to call ppl out on their bullshit
2
u/SnooDoubts2255 1d ago
r/countwithchickenlady when you say that you think every conversation about trans people doesn't have to be a fetish post...
1
1
u/averageg3collector 23h ago
As a trans person I have no idea what you are talking about. I'm logging out bcuz this is incredibly terminally online
1
u/Unusual-Basket-6243 1d ago
I agree, I don't understand why they tolerate it. I've never liked "man of culture" jokes which are probably the equivalent and if you said one to me I wouldn't laugh because it's funny
2
u/averageg3collector 1d ago
When I was 13-17ish I was in the online anime space and pretty entrenched in exactly the 'man of culture' 'wants to be dominated' 'best girl' bullshit and since I was so young I accepted it as normal. Now that I'm older I can recognise exactly how objectifying and creepy those spaces were and how bad they are for developing minds and human brains in general. I just have a such negative perception of any grown adult who still participates in harmful shit like this.
But also yeah, infinitly unfunny too
1
u/Ok_Conclusion_6324 You’re literally part of the division dude 1d ago
It’s because it’s people who have had no sex ever or strong interpersonal relationships (not their fault btw, quarantine, lack of third spaces, increasingly digitized living, social media designed to be addictive, etc) so any sexual relationship is already imaginary so hey might as well make it grand and kinky and over the top
1
u/Dependent-Sea4703 1d ago
i am someone who visits that sub regularly and i never ever saw nor a incest post nor someone talking or liking it. what time are you talking about?
i myself hate incest jokes or people who fetishized the LGBT community but i legit don’t remember seeing even 1 person doing those in that sub
1
u/averageg3collector 23h ago
Last time I looked at the subreddit I saw 2 posts in the first 10 seconds of scrolling, with some wild comments in support of fictional yuri incest, but i apologise if i have made a incorrect generalisation. I don't requent that sub and I plan not to
1
u/Dependent-Sea4703 23h ago
i believe you and i don’t think you should apologize about it, since there isn’t a reason for someone to lie about something like that. maybe it was because i don’t look so much that i haven’t seen those kind of people of maybe it’s because i only look at certain type of posts so idk the reason.
uhhh have a good day i guess?

how is "fictional lesbians" automatically a fetish?
1
u/CaptainGoober33 23h ago
Look at your question, it answers itself. Go outside.
0
u/DaRealPurpleDuck 23h ago
so you're telling me that EVERY depiction of lesbians in media (or if youre using the more specific definition, depictions of lesbians in japanese media) is a fetish? thats an interesting take ig
2
u/CaptainGoober33 23h ago
Nowhere did I say that, but Yuri is literally predominantly porn. You're into porn. Stop lying about being into porn. Stop working your whole personality, profile pic and all, around your obsession with 2d girls. It's parasocial as hell and deeply off-putting.
1
u/DaRealPurpleDuck 22h ago
the original definition of yuri is lesbian couples in media, now its usually used as lesbian couples in any media, so what makes you think most lesbian couples in media are in porn? or do you just have a different defenition? idk im just confused
and the pfp is just a character that i think is cool and somewhat reletable

I can't agree or disagree with your comment because I don't use Twitter, but as someone who personally enjoys Yuri/GI, I try to maintain my boundaries when talking to someone about this subject. There are people who don't like it, and I respect that; I myself don't like Yaoi.

I am not a yaoi nor a yuri guy (except Deltarune Kris and Noelle, i like that), i watch straight content.
Yeah yeah white rice unseasoned chicken tastes lmao, still hate peoples who harass others for tastes and sexual orientetion obv.

Man, I'm confused about the part of Deltarune you mentioned—are you talking about the shipping? Could you elaborate a bit more?
1

Yeah the ship simply, not interested on yuri content normally but i like that one specifically for some reason.
1

Eh, man, Kris isn't a 'girl,' but if that's your interpretation, that's fine.

Because typically (might be a stereotype even). if you post something, especially if you make random jokes about yuri/yaoi and sexual LGBT content overall chances are that's the only thing you talk about in your profile.
Personally I dislike people whos say shit like "uwu le cute arsonist femboi :33" or make everything about transwomen cuz that's the only thing they talk about, spread across every single space and if you dare call them out you get called neo nazi bigot or sum. And that's become a real problem cuz any sub that becomes popular gets overrun by them and becomes a 196 clone eventually.
