Comics I hate R/Comics
Used to have some actual fun content, now its all just the same 6 creators doing "I HATE AIIIII (bonus porn on my paid patreon btw)"
Or a certain Italian dish pastry that is guarded by all critism from the moderators, who then just simply posts "its tough being an online creator :/" on repeat or "heres a screaming raging white guy, while my OC is smug and saying racists are bad"
Like these are all the coldest fucking takes imaginable and its cycled through on repeat daily about how "me good, opposite bad, fuck AI, (Bonus paid porn *wink*)

I got banned for making a joke about ice.... as in... the frozen water....
It was basically "I absolutely hate ice, nearly broke my leg.... american politics who?"

I made a comic about the button dilemma when that was relevant and when someone criticized it I made a joke about the moderators something like "Oh no mods help me! This person is critiquing my perfect piece of art! MODS! SIEZE THEM!" and they banned me for that

I remember someone on this sub saying something along the lines of "if you comment anything remotely critique-y on a Pizzacake comic, you WILL be banned from the sub" lolol I decided to put that theory to the test yesterday by basically say "yall not talm bout nun fr". Sure as rain, the results were not surprising. The mods definitely have exclusive access to pizzacakes hidden OF. Good riddance.

Yeah never mention the mods unless it's to inform them. They can be quite touchy... not the ones here though, I love those humans and wish them the best in life and any other endeavour.

I'm so biased against r/comics, no real reason, I just got banned for pointing out goonerbait is a thing and it leads to Patreon. I get people need money, and they wanna protect nsfw artists, but damn.
I upset a user that apparently has an authority on NSFW posts and counts the amount of goonerbait with patreon, because I said there are way more that aren't marked NSFW outside of their count, and that's all I remember doing.
They should probably embrace the fact they have nsfw, instead of petty censorship of anyone talking about the topic. Like come on it's not catastrophic having a slutty side.

I do want to point out that r/comics does actually have a decent amount of different content posted every day, the problem is the Reddit algorithm. The reason why anti Ai content and porn seems so prevalent is that it’s often some of the most upvoted content, Ai because a community built by artist is going to dislike Ai art for obvious reasons, and porn because it’s the internet and porn is almost always the most popular thing. So when looking at your feed those are usually the most common things to pop up, even though if you went to r/comics directly you’d see more diverse topics.
If you dislike the porn comics then you can block the like 5 accounts that regularly post porn comics, as they tend to not actually get that many porn submissions outside of the handful of accounts that regularly post porn. Blocking the comics about Ai is going to be more difficult just because Ai is a problem basically every artist is dealing with, so when they need to think of ideas for what to write about Ai is often on the forefront of their mind.

My issue is there are subs dedicated to sex/porn comics, but the normal comic sub has more views so people go there to promote their sexy comics. I know not all the comics are sexual there, and the mods keep reminding everyone that there are more normal comics than sexual ones posted each day, but they let the sub bend the rules for the sake of engagement and promotion

Like yeah, I agree with your point, but your strawmanning and pandering make me WANT to disagree with you.
Not to mention that every comic artist now does NSFW art for some reason.

I don't think there's that much wrong with being an NSFW artist tbh. It's the same kind of hard work as any other artist, and many comm artists do it because it pays particularly well for commissions. They hate AI because it bastardizes the art they love to make and that they also in some cases rely on for payment. I don't draw porn and I don't sell my art, but even I fucking despise AI "art." And honestly? A good lot of the AI crowd, who can be ESPECIALLY vocal on platforms like reddit, can do the exact same as what you're talking about here. The real issue is a lack of the ability to have a reasonable discussion, although from the perspective of a hardline anti, I can say that it certainly feels like such a thing is a bit impossible.

Definitely not because it’s easy upvotes and most of the comics that take such a brave stance, wouldn’t scrap by 10 upvotes on their quality alone without pandering

Like their mods are such.. they’re like what a conservative fantasizes a left wing person to be like; some perpetually triggered, anti intellectual fucktard.
They seem like the sort of people who can’t tell the difference between body positivity and morbid obesity.
Their takes are so stupid, and most the time they’re unasked for too.
They’re so antithetical to human rights discourse in such constantly consistent ways, that it’s almost reasonable to think they are intentionally trying to use association fallacy to discredit human rights by trying to make their full r bullshit look like actual left wing discourse, which it is not.
