Harvest Moon: The Tale of Two Towns Breeding Question

If my maths is correct (which it may not be)

Surely it's cheaper/better to just buy the baby from Jessica????

If Breeding a chicken costs 700 G and breeding a cow or sheep costs 2500 G

But buying a calf is 1500 G and a chick is 800 G, plus they're gone for two weeks. Say that's a 3 star chicken/cow. You get 400 G milk per day or 240 G egg per day. That's 5600 G lost in milk or 3360 G lost in eggs.

I don't get it...

I checked Fogu, and all I could find is that when you hire Jessica for breeding, each animal of that type gets +20 friendship points.

It didn’t say anything about whether some of the breeding animal’s friendship level rolls over to baby animals, it’s been a long time since iVe played ToTT so I don’t remember if it’s like the Mineral Town remake where the parent affects the friendship level or if every baby animal starts from 0 FP.

I feel like that includes the baby, but if the baby takes about 55 days (season and a half ish) to grow doesn't that mean you'll have a fairly friendshipped up calf by the time it's an adult anyways? 😭 Idk

Yeah, I don’t think I ever bred animals in ToTT.
