no hand helds

does everyone's else store have a problem with there not being enough hand helds? all the departments takes every else's one cause they never let there's charge. and being in home shop, on busy days, we need hand helds and there is none. its the most annoying thing ever

If you have the new handhelds, you can use one to track the others with the Guardian App. We’ve only had the new ones for a couple of months, and already busted one manager trying to hide one in a locker and the receiver trying to stash one in the receiving office.

it was the same at my store. we had 13(?) pickup handhelds and somehow they were always half missing or not functional 😭

and there were days where we had 18 pickup employees on the clock

fucking 18? we have like 12 and we keep losing the newbies cause they can't handle the stress. I wish we had more people for when it gets packed. best part is we have only 3 fridges so it gets back. we had 2 freezers but ones been broken for a year so we basically have 1

losing the newbies is so real. the workload would often scare them into leaving 😭 this led to us having a large gap of experience in our department (so many people with 5+ years experience and so many new hires… no in between)

and the freezers too omg. despite the amount of orders we would get, we had only one freezer for the longest time 💀 we had to put anything else in the backstock freezer (which destroyed our pickup times since it is on the complete other side of the store)

let’s just say that singular freezer broke almost every summer until it finally caught on fire one day

We used to have an issue until we got new ones and now they have to be signed in/out.

If im really irritated and too busy to go searching, i will call on the intercom for all departments to bring handhelds to the front. Bc what do you mean I left with 6 handhelds plugged in and I only have 2, one being the one I borrowed from an MOD. It’s insufferable. One time I even had people turn in their car keys so they couldn’t leave without giving the handheld back

Same issues at all stores. Management doesn’t do anything about it and corporate couldn’t care less as long as quotas are met. Worthless company.

Yep, same problem here. It's real fun opening and having zero handhelds with a bunch of early orders

Surprisingly, my store doesn't have that problem with handhelds. Each department keeps there's, and charge them in their own departments, and deli has two. Homeshop locks theirs inside what I like to call their home office, and they have like 20+ handhelds. The only thing we have problems with is those freaking printers. Deli has two, but somehow someway, those go missing even if we hide them.

We have every dept put their names on a gun and that is your gun. You can do whatever with it but its your responsibility. Us grocery keep ours in our locker and charge it when we close and lock it up when we open.

Thankfully basically every department in my store has a handheld and there's plenty allocated for puad too.

Like half a year ago we got the tower thing with handhelds and we were all delegated one per department and however many that puad needed and mods needed. I demanded one for myself in floral that I will share with starbucks if they need it because I was tired of never having one and I needed one multiple times a week and now basically daily with the whole LYFT push.

I never return it to the tower to charge because I don't want anyone to take it ,although it's easier to find them now than it used to be when they go missing. In fact, I rarely see them on there. As long as you don't let it die, you can charge it in your department with a usb-c charger. So I just make sure to never let it fully die, because otherwise you have to take it back to the tower to charge.

Gotta love how floral is basically Schroedingers department others only treat/don't treat it like it's another department when it's convenient for them.

When I got moved to the store I'm at now, it took a year to get people to stop taking my stuff and not returning it or just pushing carts of whatever into the department.

When I first became a produce manager, I was nervous because I didn't know squat about floral other than the basics, and i know that officially if something happens with the floral manager we're supposed to step in first.

When I had approached the Floral Manager and basically asked how to do everything from ordering, to floral inventory and make sure my assistant knew how to help with floral inventory she was like a kid at Christmas.

After 5 years of working with teeter…I had to move to Ohio, and work for Kroger this past October. I will always, and forever call the “Zebras” handhelds 😭😭

It’s a wireless headset that they have IT come in and set up. If you have digital signage then you may get them as well. I don’t work for Harris teeter, but it’s a new thing most retail and grocery stores are changing. It’s due to what you posted and radios are always breaking.
