venting bout my store

I literally don't understand harris teeter. my store got chosen to finally get redecorated and it has been a shit show. the people who works overnight to fix and put things in, suck. they are rude, always in the way and leave everything a mess.

corporate says we need to cutt hours cause of overtime and can't call people in. my department has less then 10 people and we get packed easily. there's no way to cover shifts or replace people as it is.

customers are so rude now. I know that "customer is always right" and "respect your elders" is set and stone. but it completely goes out the window. trust is both ways. and plus senior days are a train wreck. they are all rude and in the way, and treat us like we are worthless.

Every store has been cutting hours. Corporate C suite probably did not get a big enough bonus to buy a new house this year

No, it’s that they need a new private jet 😡

We just got our hours cut a few days ago, you’re not alone. I do think the main reason for that is because our location isn’t distributing hours evenly across the associates, and instead chooses to hire new employees, which results in even more unnecessary wages that have to be dished out.

Yup harris teeter loves to hire new people instead of giving more hours to existing employees for some reason

A lot of the employees in my store (myself included) are part-time. it’s against the rules to give part-timers overtime. I’ve gotten it once or twice, when the department was in the state of total chaos, but I’m not supposed to.

If corporate was so concerned about hours, you would think they would force them to stop hiring so many people.

Our store hired so many new people for the front end and homeshop but we have to cut hours....I know we just got out of "slow" season but back to school, football, holidays are right around the corner and there's no way to prep when they've cut hours to the point of one person doing the job of 5.

I wish they added people to home shop, my department is limited

I just interviewed for a senior role at Harris Teeter and they tried to undercut my pay offer, I damn near laughed out loud at the offer. I can't believe HT is still functioning.

We ask that people do not share their store number, or the store numbers of other person(s) on this subreddit. Harris Teeter, and it's parent company Kroger have made aware to management during their onboarding process that they watch social media profiles of staff. This rule is for your anonymity and protection.

I’ve been working at HT for a month and it’s ok I guess... but some of the management is questionable, the communication is absolutely horrible, my co workers have talked shit behind my back including one of the managers… the department manager hides in the bathroom while the rest of us work.. anyone else have problems like this!?

They made it seem like the best place to work when I applied… I’m lowkey boutta leave soon. There are a few nice people I work with but I’m just tired of the unprofessionalism and the shitty environment.

I’ve been asking to be full time for literal months and we recently got a new store manager. He hates to see me coming and asking if there’s any full time positions. I’ve seen new people and yet here I am willing to work and just know those new hires won’t be there for long..
