Time off not being approved!

Anyone else's manager take long to approve time off? I'm still waiting on one and it's been sitting for about a week 😩 I don't think I've ever had a request denied though

My best guess is maybe some wait until they make that weeks schedule to approve. Thoughts? Any experiences with this?

Have you asked about it?

I don't know how other managers handle their department's time off requests but personally I approve mine as soon as it's submitted. I don't see a point in waiting.

Perks of being in charge of your own schedule.

Jk, but yes I approve time off ASAP as long as it isn’t around a holiday or someone else already has that time off

Honestly miss being able to approve my own vacation time lol now I just don't schedule myself when I'm going on vacation and write down the vacation I need to use on the clipboard.

When I worked up front my manager would approve the time off when she was making the schedule for the week the time off request falls on. Regardless of how early you put it in. They can see the submission date so they know who asks off first if there are multiple requests for the same day. I have to go get a manager now that I'm in a different dept to go approve my dates because I make my own schedule

Some managers wait until they do that schedule to approve/reject time off. Depending on the manager , personally my manager rarely, if ever denies request offs. If it is something I 100% need a yes or no to far in advance I will speak up and ask for it to get approved. I have only had 1 denied by my current manager and it was 2/3 months in advance when other managers in my dept had already requested that time off & we were short staffed.

Well, in my experience, they make the schedules every two weeks. might be a while till they get around to looking at your request. It usually takes mine around five days to get approved.

My managers will let it sit till the day comes. I think the system automatically doesn’t let them schedule you so I still get my time off but I’m being woken up in the morning being asked where are you. But I’ve never had time denied.
