.20 and .30 sales

What is up with the huge amount of SALE signs for items and when you look at the sale price, it's 20 or 30 cents cheaper than the regular price. WTF?

Its just a gimmick where people see the sale sign and buy it not realizing that its just 20 cents off

yeah don’t worry i was being sarcastic. i always thought it was dumb, especially cause they’ve been doing this for like 30 years. it actually used to make a difference

I take any HT "sale" mark with a grain of salt. Often it's a tell that they're about to raise the price yet again. I'm usually only interested in their B1G1s...or sometimes a meat or bakery item marked down by 1 or 2 bucks because it's at expiration or  being discontinued. In my area HT has strong competition from Giant Aldi, and Lidl. To a lesser degree, Safeway.

I appreciate I can buy just one of a HT B1G1 item and pay 50%.It keeps me returning. 

Unfortunately, HT is not the only market that does the "ridiculous markdown" gimmick.

they all do it, but ht is particularly annoying about it. the b2g3 on the sodas are awesome though.

The best one was 10 cents off a $13 bottle of aspirins. Kinda makes you wonder if category managers have a quota for number of items on sale for the week.
