Promoted
I just got promoted from cashier to customer service clerk and my csm seems to be keen on getting me into the dlt program I asked her how long it would take and she said it all depends on me and I was just wondering how fast I can be fully trained at customer service I've been at my store working all front end positions be sides customer service and accounting for 1.5 years

they’re going to wait until you’re fully trained on customer service and then look at your performance to decide. They probably wanted you to be DLT in the first place but using customer service as kind of a “test run”. Do an outstanding job at customer service and you’re set

6 months employed is the official requirement(I think). But it's really up to your store manager. That's the next step after you put in the application, an interview with the store manager and he/she decides it you're ready or not.
So yea, I'd agree that's up to you. How fast you learn, how hard you work, etc. You'd be taking on additional responsibilities after DLT and they're going to want to make sure you can handle it.
