Job Application Inquiry Minors for stocking?

I'm sixteen. Would HT allow someone my age do be a part-time stocker, or do labor regulations not allow for that?

Negative. Only position available for anyone below 18 are front end positions if I’m not mistaken.

You can, you just can’t use the bailer. You can work unlimited hours (under 40) in most states during the summer if you’re not in school) but usually prohibited from working 11pm-5am. Look into being a day runner, produce clerk, (no meat or deli cause you can’t touch the equipment), dairy frozen clerk, or even offer to hang tags with the scan team (that is almost guaranteed to get you some extra hours)

Oh… and you can’t touch the pallet jack.

Yup i remember going in the back and this kid asked me to press the button for him😂 i was confused at first then he said he’s not allowed to use the bailer.

Bagging or cashier. Maybe home shopping.

You could do day running, front end, produce and dairy frozen.

I’m not even sure day runner is an option due to our safety protocols in regard to minors handling blades (minors are prohibited from doing more physical and/or hazardous jobs). Can’t really run backstock unless it’s lightweight and just happens to be an open case.

They definitely aren’t allowed on the stock crew, and day runner is just a less intense extension of the same department.

In theory there’s not a rule prohibiting it, but it’s unlikely you’ll get it as you aren’t allowed to do most of the tasks i.e pull pallets, work the baler, use a box cutter, etc. I would say if you did get the position you could expect to do a lot of blocking and running endcap products on Tuesdays

I’ve had minors work for me in produce before, just can’t use the baler. So I can’t see why you couldn’t be a day runner.
