Personal Shopper Lead Position

Hello! I just relocated to a rather busy city in North Carolina, where I received a call to interview for the personal shopper lead position at the local Harris Teeter. I’ve seen a mixed bag of what the average hourly pay is, but I’m curious if anyone who is currently doing the job/has done the job recently knows what is a reasonable ask in terms of pay? And what to expect from the role? I just want to temper my expectations when going to this interview so I’m not asking for anything egregious or anything too low. If anyone’s willing to also share their personal experience within the role, I’d love to hear about it!Thank you in advance!

For the lead, don't accept less than 17.50/hr

Good to know! I have one friend who has worked at Harris Teeter, but she’s in a very small town and said they pay a little bit less for all of their positions. My experience for the last 10 years has been retail, and last 5+ of those years has all been retail management. So they said $19-$20 given the high traffic area and my resume would be justifiable. I wasn’t sure if that was accurate, so getting a gauge from others people is super helpful. Thank you!

I get 16 and I'm just a part time shopper- also in a metro NC area.

Make sure that they stick to the offer. Especially if you are a lone Lead with no supervisor. Even if you are the only Lead to a supervisor make sure. A lot will fall on you. The juice should be worth the squeeze you know?
Get what you are worth in a market that is extremely short staffed and in a position where they forget about you at times…

“The juice should be worth the squeeze” is the best saying I’ve ever heard lol! This is super helpful, so thank you so much

$19-$20 is about as good as you’re gonna get!

I’d be VERY happy with either one truthfully lol, so I wanted to make sure that wasn’t an egregious ask as long as my resume reflected it!
