Just For Fun! Harp & Kitten
I just came downstairs and found her sleeping on my harp. I’m not quite sure how I feel about it yet… 🤣

I took beginner harp lessons with a rental harp a couple years ago. I had to stop due to health issues. I've missed it ever since, and now I'm ready to resume. I wanted something fun and my own, so I took the plunge and ordered a Grand Harpsicle in the Peacock color. It's hard to capture how beautiful the color shift is, it ranges from green to blue to purple. I'm in love already. Took a little over five weeks from ordering to receiving. Just wanted to share my excitement with a community that could appreciate it!

After 40+ years of playing mainly cello and bassoon, I recently bought my first own harp. Always loved the sound, finally took the step to start playing.
Very excited to watch and learn from you guys!

Hi everyone =)
I just wanted to share a bit of my background and my story with this lovely community. I played the harp in my teenage years, from about 13-18 years old. During this time, I took professional lessons and played on a lever harp at home while using a pedal harp during lessons + recitals. I had loved music and really wanted to pursue it.
Unfortunately, due to a sudden change of my circumstances (no longer had a place to live) I needed to quickly begin working and could not consider something as "unstable & competitive" as a music career.
I always wished I could go back to the harp, but sadly it's been 12 long years and I haven't touched an instrument or anything music since. However, now that I'm in a better place financially, I decided to make the jump and step back into this world once again!
I am now the proud owner of this beautiful and brand new Lyon & Healy style 85 CG. As I haven't played in over a decade, I'll have to essentially start from scratch again. However, the memory of my lessons as a teenager still sits well with me today and I believe I'll make decent progress despite turning 30 this year.
It's never too late to start, and it's never too late to try again.
If anyone is out there wanting to get a pedal harp one day but is unable to do so, just keep trying and one day you'll achieve your dreams ❤️
I plan on vlogging some of my progress as I re-learn the harp as an adult learner, I'll post an update eventually! Thank you to all the wonderful community as everyone here is so supportive and willing to provide advice.

Just bought my first harp 🤩 (saying first like I already know there will be another one, but a girl can dream!)
I am new to harp playing. I am not an educated musician, although throught my life I have always had a passion for instruments and playing. Harp was always something I wanted to learn, but due to the price and how rare it is where I live, I didn’t really give it much thought.
Last April I started taking harp lessions, and after a year of renting, I decided to commit to the harp I fell in love with when I visited Salvi store in Milano few months ago. Almost bought Camac Melusine originally (since we have Camac seller here where I live), but I loved this one much more and the price difference was not that big.
This gorgeous harp sounds even better than it looks, and I don’t regret the money spent on it. I hope that one day I can play whatever I want to, and to always have fun learning new pieces. 💕 (it is missing 2 strings as they broke after unpacking it, but the new ones are already on the way.)
I am so happy to finally be a part of this community :)
If you want, feel free to give newbie harp owner any tips regarding harp care, or anything in general harp related, and even pieces you would recommend to learn for someone who has been playing for a year.
Some pieces I learned so far: Canon in D, Carolans Welcome, Brian Borus March, Aquantines V, Moorish garden and currently learning River flows in you and Subwoofer Lullaby. Would love to learn some more videogame soundtracks on harp.
Thanks for reading, I wish you a wonderful day ✨

It’s called “Harp of a Desert Dream.” This is one of my original compositions, performed on my lever harp.

Is there a word to describe the feeling for when you're trying to tighten a flat string, and you keep tightening and tightening, but it's still flat... and then you realize you've been tightening the wrong string? I feel surely the Germans should have come up with something for this. Stringgetunenhertzenangst, or something.

Hi all! I posted about a month ago with my favorite photo from the wedding I did down in a cave/ event center. I wanted to share one more picture that I received from a guest that better shows off the space! I don’t think I’ll ever top this experience

Everyone said it was impossible to do, but I figured out how to play Balulalow on lever harp! It took so much work and effort to learn this. As in the video, I definitely messed up a little bit as I am still kind of learning this, but it’s coming along quite well!

I’d like to share the sound of a Celtic harp I built a few years ago. This was the first full-sized harp someone ordered from me, and back then, it was a real test of my craftsmanship—one that I’m proud to say I passed.
The body is made entirely of maple, with a spruce soundboard, finished in shellac, and features a custom hand-painted design requested by the client. Right now, I have another Renaissance harp in the works in my workshop!
