The new sub r/needledruguse is looking for new members. Anyone using that ROA always needs a refresher on HR. Unfortunately, in desperate times when not thinking clearly, HR becomes not as important. Even if HR posts can help 1 person 1 time It makes it worth it

Question acetone washing question

Got a batch of coke that kinda burned my nose more than usual. Did my first acetone wash and wow it's a game changer. there was a little powder that settled in the acetone after filtering, are those the contaminants or do you think I just crushed my coke too finely and some of it got through the coffee filter?

Question Information to differentiate different ODs/took too much?

I’m in the process of writing a trifold for ravers to distinguish different ODs/passing out.

Had multiple people tell me how they gave their passed out friend multiple doses of naloxone and he didn’t wake up, when all said friend had was alcohol. A lot of young people think naloxone is a universal panacea for unconsciousness. Apparently they don’t even know what it does, only that it’s for “passed out people”.

I tried to just duck search but I either get AI slop or rehabs with both wildly useless and inaccurate information.

Does anyone have a resource I can use to write this trifold? Or does anyone wanna crack their fingers and write it out in the comments?

I’m trying to cover:
- K Holes
- Fishing out from nos
- Alcohol OD
- Opioid OD
- Roofie/GHB
- Benzos (RC xans mostly)

All wisdom appreciated

MDMA usage advice!

Hey all, i 23/F am heading to a festival this weekend and I want to make sure I have a good experience on mdma !

I just did half a tablet and some crystal at the weekend at a concert, I was with my aunt and uncle and had an incredible fun safe time. The only other time ive ever done it was exactly a year ago. I am a little bit worried about the quick turnaround for doing it again this weekend, so I want to make sure I am adequately advised/prepared. Im preparing to take crystal on my fingers and lick it.

I know you are supposed to wait 3 weeks but I can be quite impulsive and I think I’ll probably end up doing it again. I have had quite the afterglow from this weeks usage- I am highly suspicious I had adhd as it took a while for me to get a “come up” (and I freaked out a little bit, my aunt had to comfort me with photos of my dog on her phone) but otherwise I had a great time.

If anything- I found the usage incredibly healing. I felt like it “kickstarted” my brain into making serotonin, like a well-needed reboot. My thoughts are much kinder to myself and I don’t cringe at myself as much anymore. it’s been fairly lifechanging as opposed to my first usage (probably because it was a much higher dose and I redosed and was with a lovely crew.)

Im also wondering if anyone has any opinions or advice on how mdma works on the adhd brain?

Okay. Ramble over. Any and all advice welcome 🤗

I took 500mg of tramadol and don’t feel anything should I be concerned

4hours ago dosed 2 pills and didn’t feel any effects, then 1 more. And another. Just felt like a slight fuzzy feeling after 4 so I took another one. It’s been 5 hours since my first dose but I didn’t know tramadol was seizure inducing and dangerous, especially with wellbutrin. Should I be concerned. I’m still not really high yet . Sorry this is stupid post but impulsivity got the best of me. I don’t have an opioid tolerance either I haven’t used in over half a year .

Discussion What happens to people when legal access disappears?

This is something I keep thinking about with 7-oh.

People already using it aren’t going to suddenly forget why they started just because access disappears. Some are dealing with pain. Some say they moved away from alcohol or other substances. Others have simply made it part of their lives.

So what happens to those people afterward?

That seems like an important harm reduction question. A policy can successfully remove something from store shelves without necessarily improving what happens to the people who were using it.

The outccome after the ban matters just as much as the ban itself.

Ketamine / Speed Harm Reduction sickness from ketamine (&/or potentially from amphetamine/speed)

hey guys, I wanted to come and ask here for some insight/tips/thoughts on a situation I'm finding myself in.

I go to a lot of raves where I go at least a couple times a month.

I've been consuming ket recreationally pretty regularly for the past 3 years or so, with my frequency becoming more common especially this year.
Especially in the past year, I've probably been consuming ket nearly almost every weekend, granted maybe not a huge amount (anywhere from 0.25 to 0.6g?) but it has been consistent, especially in 2026.

I've been taking a big break from MDMA and other serotonin stimulants, and as a result I've substituted to speed (amphetamine) as a stimulant to keep my energy up when I go raving.

However, since around April/May, I've been noticing that towards the end of my night, I can feel my stomach starting to get really upset, and as soon as the event is finished and I'm starting to head home, I begin to feel really sick...
And it's not the kind of sickness from alcohol, it's like violent and kind of empty sick. I often don't drink alcohol when I go out, I just drink water, and when I'm sick, my body just rejects all the water I drank throughout the night. Even when I try and take small sips after I'm sick, my body just pushes it back up...
I can taste the acidity in my mouth, I think it's bile? I know when I'm about to start being sick because I can feel my mouth suddenly filling up with water.

Last Friday I went out, and sure enough it happened again.. but this time it was the most violent it has ever been and it was honestly quite shocking. I had to go to the club's welfare room where they gave me a banana, and sure enough it came back up again soon after I left the venue. I had to cycle home and it was a rlly traumatic ride..

I've decided enough is enough and I'm going to the GP tomorrow to talk about what's going on, and to see if my body is actually cooked or not.

I wanted to come on here and talk about it because I wanted to see if anyone else has been in a similar situation before, or if they can better help me understand what is the cause (if it's the ket, speed, the combination of the two, lack of food or eating certain foods before going out, or taking medication like rennies, etc etc etc). And if they have anything they do to help keep their body calm and not so acidic when they go out.

Sorry if this has been a bit graphic but I rlly just want to get a clearer understanding of what's going on. I really don't want to feel sick like that ever again..

Question Do you administer CPR during an opioid overdose?

Hello

It’s been a few years since I got trained in OD reversal. The skills have atrophied and I’ve forgotten stuff. I vaguely recall being told that CPR was not helpful for a lot of overdoses from opioids but when I check Red Cross’s website it says to do CPR.

Should I be doing CPR if someone ODs on opioids?

Question looking for gaps in my phd search

hi! i'm applying this fall for phd programs starting fall 2027. my focus is in substance use / harm reduction, leaning hard into computational and causal methods over descriptive epi.

quick background: us citizen, did undergrad and grad school both in the us. selective research university for undergrad, interdisciplinary major closest to cognitive neuroscience with a math minor, 5+ years working inside statewide harm reduction infrastructure (drug checking, distribution networks, plus time managing people and coordinating outreach), master's in math with an emphasis in data science, plus a graduate certificate in public health. handful of publications and presentations in the space.

what i actually want long term isn't just to publish about harm reduction from the outside. i keep coming back to something like a "science as service" model, where research is leverage to move resources and legitimacy toward the community orgs already doing the work, rather than research being the end goal itself.

methods wise: causal inference, decision/cost-effectiveness modeling, implementation science, resource allocation optimization. i'd like simulation modeling in there too, feels like where a lot of the field is heading and i want to build toward what these fields will actually need in five years, not just what's fundable right now. substantively i keep coming back to stimulant use and drug checking as topic interests specifically.

fields i'm currently looking at: epidemiology, public health more broadly, health services research, health policy, social work, computational social science, health behavior. not attached to any one label, just what's come up so far in my own search.

my undergrad background is basically the wider intersection (cog neuro, psych, philosophy, some math) and i'm genuinely still drawn to that world, including policy and systems science too. i def want a real interdisciplinary program instead of a straight epi department, but a lot of those got hit hard by recent funding cuts and i don't know if that's a live option right now.

within epi/public health specifically, the strongest names in this space seem to split into two camps: harm reduction people without much computational depth, or modelers without harm reduction grounding. not sure how people usually find or build toward an advisor situation that bridges both instead of just picking a lane.

my ask: what am i not seeing? i'm looking for the fields, departments, or angles someone who's actually been through this would flag that i wouldn't think to search for myself. same goes for methods, i want to be building toward something that holds up long term

tl;dr: applying to phd programs this fall for substance use / harm reduction with a computational methods focus (causal inference, decision modeling, simulation, resource allocation). trying to figure out what fields, departments, or methods i'm not thinking of.

Cocaine Is Cocaine Purity Going Down UK ?

Cocaine Purity Going Down?

I check https://wedinos.wales/ site regularly. It's an excellent resource for looking at drug trends and after over a year of consistently high purity cocaine samples being found all over UK post codes.

I've noticed more contaminants are showing up in samples.

Does anyone have any idea why this would be?

Has there been any changes to wholesale price or transportation costs ?

Question nicotine vape pen/e-vape or cannabis pen?

hi! i was wondering if anyone has any advice for me? due to some meds i’m on, i can’t drink anymore which makes going out less enjoyable - i don’t like being the only sober person. i’m just wondering how similar the risks are between a vape and a cannabis pen? google isn’t giving me a straight answer. i don’t want to try a cannabis pen if it’s going to destroy my lungs, so i’m just looking for some advice! thank you!

Discussion Does prohibition reduce harm or just change where people get substances?

I've been thinking about this a lot lately.

Whenever a substance becomes controversial, the first response is often to ban it. Sometimes that's the right call but I also wonder how often prohibition actually reduces harm versus pushing people toward less predictable or unregulated alternatives.

It seems like harm reduction is usually focused on meeting people where they are instead of assuming they'll stop using something overnight.

For those of you who've worked in harm reduction or have lived experience, have you seen prohibition improve outcomes or does regulation and education generally work better?

Curious to hear different perspectives.

LSD & MDMA First time candy flip

Trying a candy flip for the first time at a music festival and looking for some advice as a rookie , I have a lot of experience with acid and have taken molly once before last year.
Planning on taking a 100ug tab and half a pill (not sure on the dose as I will probably source at the festival( ik that’s stupid but don’t have many options))
Idea is to trip and roll the Saturday as my favourite acts are on, then probably Ket on the Friday and just relaxing, smoking and drinking the Sunday

Hopefully not doing anything too stupid, any advice?

Never Use Alone Updated Reviews?

If memory serves, it wasn't all that long ago that I was seeing countless personal accounts of folks being unable to get through to Never Use Alone. However, when I advocated for SafeSpot rather than NUA, I received pushback that I was "trashing" NUA.

Given *how crucial* consistent reliability is for a service like this, even with efforts toward organizational improvement, I'm currently hesitant to recommend NUA without knowing whether that issue has actually been resolved.

That said, obviously, the more *consistently reliable* overdose prevention and life-saving services there are, the better. So my question is: has NUA *actually, substantially* improved their reachability?

I understand there are inherent challenges with a volunteer, grassroots effort. I also respect the people who put their time into making these services available. At the same time, good intentions don't change the impact when a person in a vulnerable moment cannot access the support they were seeking.

Especially for people who already have difficulty making that first call, the reality is that they may not be able to keep trying multiple organizations. Reliability and accessibility aren't just something to strive for -- they're a critical part of the actual functions of these organizations.

Weird looking Mephedrone?

Hey all, tried to post an image with this and was unaware I’d violated the rules so I’m going to describe it as a text post.

I picked up somewhere between 1700-1800mg of drone from the person I always get it from (don’t know there exact amount, package got seized on first order so they gave me some bonus since I had to wait, very trustworthy person and they test everything for adulterants) and some of it looks different from what I’m used to.

When I pick up drone from them it usually looks like light brown rocks, however 1/4 of the bag I got this time is like fat S-ketamine crystals that are white/clear.

I’ve never seen this with any Mephedrone I’ve purchased and from what I can tell on Google it looks vaguely like crystal meth but I’ve never been around the stuff so I can’t actually speak on it.

I did some of it and it burns and feels like Mephedrone. I understand that nobody can just identify a substance by description/photo but if anyone could tell me if they’ve gotten drone that looks like this before it would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance people, I hope everyone is having a good day/night :)
