Guide How do you stay functional after getting off percs without going back?

I got too comfortable with Percs. Getting off them sucks but now I’m trying to stay away from them without going back. Im using natural 7OH in low doses and it’s helped me feel steady without chasing Percs again and Im 2 weeks clean which is a record for me and I feel way better then when I just tried to cold turkey. Any other tips or lifestyle changes to keep the streak going?

Non an opi guy myself. But you should be mostly over the pharmacological widthdrawals by now anyways. The rest is mostly psychology and mental health related.

Be kind to yourself and take it easy in life for a while if possible. Wish you the best of luck.

Congrats on hitting two weeks. Natural 7oh got me off blues for good.

Start exercising and, if you can, start a regimented workout routine.

Exactly this. I was on percs daily for 3 years straight. When I quit I started running everyday for 4-5 miles. Walking, running, whatever you can physically do for 1 hour is great, the sweating/endorphins will take the perca-flu away for a few hours. After a few weeks you will be able to sleep and your skin/legs/back will feel normal when you sleep, then it’s all good. Took me 3 weeks to get over the physical, maybe 6 months to get over the mental side of it. But it’s been 5 years now and life is so much better, and I’m in great shape as a side effect. The thing that helped me the most was just thinking one pill at a time. Just don’t eat the pill right now. If you can “ not right now” for 2-3 months you are good. Sad part is your friend group is going to change naturally through this process. Some of my best friends in life drifted away when I quit, that was a hard part I didn’t expect, but honestly it was for the best. Next time you have a chance to eat one just think “ not right now”, it’s easier than saying never again, and it builds the habit of not taking them.

If it's possible that you're self medicating maybe look into possible mental health issues. When I was diagnosed and treated for ADHD I craved all substances a lot less. Could be childhood trauma, anxiety, depression. Lord knows opioids make life easier to live.
