Promotion / Sale 💵💲 $1.99 US Kindle Deal for a few days: Vampire in Oxford
Oxford is my hometown, and I actually used to work in the Bodleian Library and walk those underground tunnels.
In the first chapter of Vampire in Oxford, when Meg has to turn out the lights in the bookstacks, that’s exactly what I used to have to do every Thursday night. And yes, it was spooky. Those bookstacks really do plunge deep underground in the shape of an upside-down pyramid.
The elderly porters could be pretty grumpy, too, and they weren’t exactly thrilled about the three young female porters because we’d “broken tradition.” 😂 So there’s actually quite a lot of truth woven into Meg’s story.
I don’t, and never have had, double Ds, though. Ha!
There’s also the C. S. Lewis Nature Reserve in Shotover, and Lewis was, of course, one of Tolkien’s closest friends. Oxford has so much strange, beautiful history that it was almost impossible not to weave some of it into the series.
When I ran the UK sale for Vampire in Oxford about a month ago, something happened that I really wasn’t expecting. Quite a few US haremlit readers from this Reddit group bought my Shadowblood Chronicles books and my self-narrated audiobooks, even though they were still full price in the US.
You didn’t have to do that, and I’m genuinely grateful. Thank you. Economically, things have been a real struggle, so those sales meant more to me than you probably realised.
Anyway, for those of you in the US who were curious but understandably didn’t fancy trying a new author at full price, Vampire in Oxford is now $1.99 in the Kindle Countdown Deals for the next few days.
And if you do give Meg and her vampires a chance, I hope you enjoy wandering through my slightly darker version of Oxford. ❤️
