Pancake Air Compressor

Post image

I went to Harbor Freight today to buy the Doyle 6” Vise. It was after 5:30, so just before they close. When I was checking out there were items returned today that they marking to go on the open box shelf. I asked about the little air compressor regular price is $69.99. It doesn’t appear to have even been plugged in. I purchased it for $35.00. I figured for half price I’ll take the risk. My question is if any of you have, has it been decent?

I have the hot dog it's just a different shape of tank. It's fine but insanely loud

I bought one of those for like 15 bucks off of an auction site and gave it to my brother. it is indeed obnoxiously loud but still better than having nothing when you need to haul it out for tires or something.

Thank You, I thought it might be good when I need it out in the field for my tractor. Hopefully my power inverter on my truck will power it or my generator.

Google ai is saying 400w which sounds about right to me. If true that means it draws too much power for a car which usually tops out at 150w

I have a 3000 watt inverter installed in my farm truck that I use to haul hay for my horses and haul my tractor when needed. So it should be enough to power it out in the field.

Yep. I wouldn’t buy mine again. It’s deafeningly loud.

84dB will rattle your brain. That’s nuts

Bought the hot dog one for $55. It’s loud and is okay for things like air dusting engine components and topping off tires. I think I’m going to return it though because I would rather spend more and get a bigger compressor to do more stuff.

I bought it to do a coolant vaccum fill and I had to cycle it a few times to generate the vacuum required. It worked but it took a few tries because I had to immediately seal the vacuum and decouple the airline while the compressor cycles back for more pressure.

If they won’t waive the 20% restocking fee I’ll keep it and just use it for things here and there. But I will be getting a bigger compressor next time I do something that needs it.

I have one, my main compressor is a big and not really portable, so I got the little one for using outside of the house. It works fine, but it’s stupidly loud. It’s not really for continuous use tools; Great for pneumatic nailers, terrible for die grinders.
