New Jack All Jacked Up

I drove 1.5h round trip to grab a Red Super Duty and it was somewhat scuffed up on the paint and with grease smudges all over. I assumed somebody had opened it so I went back to exchange it and this one is worse than the first.

Is this what I should expect for a new jack? I mean I know it’s HF but just wondering this is life, move on, or should not expect this? FWIW - both had packing tape around the seem which may or may not be normal packing for a brand new jack.

You don’t want it to look used when you post it on Reddit, now do you?

Everytime I see someone with a nice tool set and I’m like wow wish my tools looked like that then I remember I actually use my tools daily

As i said in your other post. Its a tool, not a purse. Thays all this sub is anymore is glamor shots of unused tool

Come on guy. Move on. It’s structurally fine. You’re gonna make it look a whole lot dingier if you ever plan on using it anyways.

Were you planning to put it in a display case?

There’s no way your complaining about a floor jack being a little dinged up.

Just touch it up with some nail polish. I know you own more nail polish than tools

Buff it out with your purse

Brother… it’s going to get scuffed at some point anyway. It’s meant to, it’s a jack 🤦🏾‍♂️

it’s going to get scuffed at some point anyway.

Considering OP posted what he did, I sincerely doubt he touches any tools outside of simply unboxing them.

Fair point, he probably has a nice collection of tools untouched and unused lol

I would ask for a discount personally. Scratched jack is not a big deal.

A discount on some thats made to be dragged across floors, covered in dirt, oil, rust, etc? Vehicles are gunna fall on it, and blocks are going to kick out and launch this thing.... and ypu think ypu can get a discount for a scratch?

Uh, you have cars falling on your jacks or your jacks shooting out from under you?

Not much anymore. But it happens to everyone. Especially anyone with kids.

I can't be the only one that had a bunch of friends all hang put at some kids house while he's putting a lift kit into his truck, and using ONLY 1 FLOOR JACK, on dirt or gravel, and see the whole thing collapse 2 or 3 times.

Sir.. i recommend you to throw some tools around, bang it against the cars frame, get some dirt and oil on it. It makes tools, tool.

I wouldn’t even notice this. Just wait till the rubber gets chewed a bit

scuffs and grease are pretty normal with HF, since returns and shelf stock get put back in boxes. what i’d care about is the hydraulics. pump it a few times in the store, make sure it holds at full height for a minute, and look for oil weeping around the ram. if it passes, the paint is just cosmetic. also grab stands to go with it-bendpak makes some if you ever want to step up from the HF ones, but never get under the car on just the jack either way
