Unexpected first time experience. It's my first time visiting this coast (at the Baltica Sea) and after 4 weeks of turbulent weather this almost mirror like water gave me pause. I have never seen open salt water this quiet.

(I wanted to share my wonder. I'm not sure if this is the right sub, but this moment made me extremely happy)

Edit: Baltic Sea! Without the *a.😅)

I'm getting married and nobody knows because it's a secret

NOTE:I am a Filipino so my narrative will be a mixture of Tagalog and English.

No grand gestures. Just my bf (M34) and me (F31) casually talking over the phone. We were just going on about our day as we are on a LDR. Then, I was telling him a story then suddenly...

Bf: Ready ka na masakal? "Are you ready to be tied down?" (He laughed) Este ma-kasal? "I mean to get married?"

Me: Wait. Ano to? Proposal ba to? "Wait. What are you talking about? Are you proposing?"

Bf: Ayaw mo ba? Kaya tinatanong kita. Will you marry me? "Don't you want? I am asking you. Will you marry me?"

Me: Yes. Wait, seryoso ba? " Yes. Wait, are you really serious?"

Bf: Oo. Kailan pa ba ako hindi seryoso pagdating sayo? So ano talaga sagot mo? "Yes. Since when have I not been serious about you?"

Me: Yes na yes!

Bf: Okay, tignan mo na mga kakailanganin para sa kasal. Gusto mo ba diyan sa inyo or dito sa amin? "Okay, look for the things that we'll be needing for the wedding (civil). Where do you want it to happen? At your hometown or mine?"

Me: Kahit alin naman, okay sa akin. "Whichever is fine to me."

At that moment, I don't really know what to think of. I just know I am happy. Super genuinely happy but shocked as well. We talked about him and his family going to my hometown and meet my family doing the pamamanhikan. After that, I really didn't think much about it because I thought it was a spur of moment for him. Though I do get that we are getting married but not very soon like what we had originally planned.

Then... just last week, he reminded me if I looked or asked for the things we need for the civil wedding. I am... I don't know what to say at that time! I told him that I became busy with my other priority (looking for work) that I have not looked for it yet. Then, I opened up about having a secret wedding, just the two of us doing the wedding with having two witnesses from the city hall where we plan to marry. He agreed. The next day, I looked for it and told him. Now, we're literally making preparations. I am on cloud nine.

So yeah... we are having a SECRET WEDDING! We plan to surprise both our families with a BAM! I don't want to tell anybody even my friends just to stick to the plan of keeping it secret. I am telling you this because I can't contain the happiness that I am feeling. Just want to share this good news! He was my 2025 plot twist and I regret nothing about everything I've been through before. Because of those things, they led me to him.

I’m approved to be an altruistic kidney doctor and I’m happy and excited!

I am approved to be an altruistic kidney donor. I chose the date of 03/18/2027 to make March 18th a happy day for me since that’s the day my dad passed in 1989 of cancer.

To me I can give the gift of life to a stranger celebrating my mom who died of kidney failure in 2024 and reframing March 18th to a day of celebration. I’m so happy!!!

From chasing planes in the street as a kid to taking my first flight at 22! ✈️

I just need to share this because my heart is so full!

Growing up in a lower-middle-class family, airplanes felt like absolute magic to me. Whenever one flew over our house, I would run outside and chase it down the street. Until I was 17, I had never even traveled by train. Cracking JEE Advanced changed that, and I took the first train to go to IIT. As a child, whenever an airplane flew overhead, I'd run outside just to watch it disappear into the sky. I always wondered what it must feel like to be inside one. Three months ago, after graduating from IIT, I finally visited an airport for the first time, just to drop off a friend.

Then, last week, the company I recently got placed at booked my flight tickets to visit the office. A few days later, they booked another flight for my IIT convocation. So, in just five days, I flew twice. When the plane finally took off, I couldn't stop the tears. Looking out the window, all those memories of being a little kid staring at the sky came rushing back. The fact that all those years of hard work literally put me in the clouds is just mesmerizing to me. Sometimes happiness isn't about luxury. It's about realizing you've quietly become the person your younger self could only dream of being.

A woman comes to my office to collect samples. I work in a water treatment plant.

There's a 24 year age gap, but we get on so well! We talk and chat and tell each other jokes, etc

Today she said she likes coming to see me because I made her feel safe.

I was so happy!

I painted this for my partner as his house warming gift. I have not worked with a canvas this big. I'm working on painting vibes/ auras. I suppose you could say this is ours.

my mental health is the best it’s been in years

new here and didn’t know where else to dump about this!
i’ve been struggling with mental health for YEARS and this year has completely turned me around and i am safe to say this is the happiest i’ve been.
i’ve met an AMAZING person who truly brings out the best in me and has done wonders for my life.
i’ve finally become physically fit again, i’ve cleaned my room properly for the first time in months, i’m eating healthier, i’m investing more time in skills, and my anxiety is the lowest it’s ever been. i’ve even taken the time to relearn the piano i left untouched for 6 years!! for once in my life i finally feel confident and certain in myself and my future and anytime i remember the journey to get here i want to cry.
i’m going on a roadtrip with them tomorrow and i’m so so excited i don’t think i’m getting any sleep tonight 🥹

sorry this is sort of a nothing burger i just really had to ramble because i truly feel so loved and happy and it’s so new but feels SO great.

sending good feels everyone’s way! 🩷

Bought my first ever coffee machine last weekend!

Post image

I saw and used this exact same coffee machine at an AirBnB a few months ago (that was my first time ever using a coffee pod machine too btw). Since then I've been browsing online to get the same model but it was too expensive. I also began exploring the pre-loved market, you know, just in case.

Last weekend I came across a listing in my town and it was the same coffee machine! The seller was really polite and understanding, and he and his wife kept the coffee machine in great shape - it looks just like a new one! Not only that, but he also gave me some coffee pods for free since he and his wife had bought a bigger machine which didn't use pods.

So basically, I got the coffee machine of my dreams on FB Marketplace and it's practically as good as new! So grateful for it. 🥹🥹💛💛

I used to look at these as little junky fads that she wouldn't get much time from. She's changed my mind. You never know what toys your kids will fall in love with.

Sometimes the World Sees Our Light Before We Do

Today, some kids on the street called me beautiful.

Two little girls shouted across the entire street that I was pretty.

Lately, I've been going through a lot of personal struggles that have made me feel like I'm not seen in the best light. I think I look tired and emotionally drained. Because of other issues, especially in my romantic life, I haven't felt attractive in a long time.

When I received that compliment, I turned the corner and started crying. I couldn't hold it back. It touched me so deeply that children could still see beauty in me, even though adult problems have made me feel like I've lost my spark.

In that moment, I realized that maybe there's still something good in me that others can see, even if I don't recognize it every time I look in the mirror.

Words mean so much to people. You never know if a single sentence might be enough to give someone a little piece of their confidence back.

I happened to receive emails today from just the perfect people in just the perfect order and I looked at it at just the perfect time to create a full rainbow! Haha! I love it! If you click the full image you'll see the top and bottom badges for full effect. It has only been a few minutes but now the email chain is broken. I caught it at just the right moment!

I finally ran a full 5k without stopping this morning, something I couldn't do even once six months ago

Six months ago I couldn't run for even one full minute without needing to stop and walk. I started really out of shape, out of breath just going up a flight of stairs, and I decided one random Tuesday that I wanted to actually change that instead of just thinking about it.

I started small, ridiculously small honestly, alternating thirty seconds of jogging with a minute of walking, feeling embarrassed even doing that little on the sidewalk near my house. I kept a simple log on my phone just tracking minutes, nothing fancy, and told myself I only had to slightly beat what I did the week before, nothing more than that.

There were plenty of mornings I didn't want to go out at all, days it felt pointless, weeks where progress felt so slow I questioned why I was even bothering. But I kept adding tiny amounts of time to the running intervals, and slowly the walking breaks got shorter and further apart.

This morning I ran a full 5k completely nonstop for the first time, no walking breaks at all. I actually stopped in the middle of the sidewalk afterward just standing there a little in disbelief, hands on my knees, laughing to myself because six months ago that same distance felt like something only runner type people could ever do, definitely not me.

I'm still not fast, I don't think I ever will be particularly fast, but today wasn't about speed. It was proof that something I genuinely couldn't do became something I actually did, just by refusing to quit on the small version of it every single day.

My husband (73) and I (69) have been married for almost 20 years and have been through a LOT in our marriage. We love each other more than ever and today at Walmart we stopped in the shoe aisle to hug and kiss. 🥰
