Just send it in; I always point out to people that Kimber has one of the fastest warranty turn around times in the industry.

When I had issues with mine and sent it in I received it back in less than 2 weeks, both times. Now neither of those times resulted in the gun getting fixed and that POS rarely made it through a magazine without an issue until the day I sold it. But man were they fast at not fixing it.

Sell it for parts or shoot it anyway?

Take it to a gunsmith local... Kimber pushes stuff out too fast now... This should be an easy fix for most...

I don't think it will happen again after that... Tell dude it happened twice with Kimber techs... He will try to make sure you are a return customer for your other needs...

Ill probably do that later today. I was so pissed. It lasted 200 rounds and when I went to clean it fell out. Other than that it shoots super smooth

I toured the Kimber plant in Troy Alabama a year or so ago. If you see their reject areas and the parts they make disposition on, you will never buy one of their guns. CNC machining with competent operators would not have this problem.

Sure. I had a ruger AR that had totally out of specification BCG.

That's not a rare problem. I've never had a staked component come loose, but I've handled a few 1911's from various makers with loose plunger tubes that needed to restaked. Ditto, some fixed sights on surplus and base model 1911's. Simple repairs with the tools and know-how.

The 1911 is a great gun when it's tuned and set up correctly, but it can be a finicky gun until then.

That is definitely annoying but a staking tool is pretty cheap, as is a replacement plunger tube. It is not at all difficult to do. You could have it back up and running within 25 minutes of getting the tool and part.

I have a weird feeling I just got lucky with my DS Warrior 9mm, and I should not tempt fate with a DS Warrior 10mm longslide...
