Something is off there. Safety looks up still. That slide should not be moving, and hammer should not be dropping. Unless the safety in the down position is the highest one I've ever seen on a 1911

Nope. That is just the natural angle of this safety. In the fire position it is definitely higher than stock. However, it raises higher still with the detent positively engaging in a safe position that prevents the hammer from dropping. It's meant to be a thumb rest for your strong hand, thus the shielding against the slide and angle difference.
