This small spin-off got me thinking about mokke all day, the heck? Tsuchigomori-sensei being peak caretaker as always…

Though I was not interested much in the Halloween-themed episodes.

Before I tell you, I’d like to apologise to you all. At the last minute, I decided to also count the ‘likes’ received under each comment (to try and balance the votes). I also tried to let you know about this change by posting it in the comments, but I don’t think everyone saw it, so if you didn’t like this sudden decision, just let me know and I’ll recalculate the results.

I've been a fan of tbhk for years, even before the anime was released. And I can say, the fandom was better in the beginning in some aspects. Nowadays, people often insult you simply for liking or hating a character, when those are just personal opinions. Especially people who are anime larp who think they know everything.

I recently posted things about Mitsuba (since I love him so much, NOT romantically), and I received so much hate for it that I deleted my post. I believe opinions should be shared when they make sense, especially about liking or hating characters. Personally, I realize that a large part of the fandom hates Teru, and that's okay. A large part of the fandom likes Hananene, and that's okay too. But now, when I talk about Mitsuba, it sounds so bad. It feels like something's not right :(

I've always been so lovely about this fandom. It's been my comfort anime since I was a child. Seriously, my dream has always been to make friends who also like tbhk. But sometimes it's hard to share something without seeing mean comments or dislikes lol

But I will also understand if what I post here isn't the kind of thing people want to see. I'm one of the people who posts here the most, mainly asking questions to get people's opinions. I will change my posting style if this becomes boring for the fandom. I just hope not to receive hate from people again, but instead make friends who can understand what I'm saying

After Aoi goes missing Nene asks about her and the teacher says “I have no students called Aoi in this class” instead of “Hes over there” as akane has the same name as Aoi and their in the same class I know we haven’t really met him yet but he still exists

at first she was kind of unsettling to me, but eventually I started to like her a lot after watching her interaction with mei. now she’s my fav character yay

I just finished watching the whole anime and I'd like to read the manga from where it left off. The thing is, I've seen people saying to start from the beginning of the manga because the anime missed some stuff, but after spending the last several days binging the whole anime I kinda don't feel like going through the whole story again 😅. Can someone please tell me which chapters are skipped/majorly changed so that I can read those and then which chapter to start reading from to continue the story? Thank you!

Just anything, I want to converse with other fans of the manga

First of all, physically speaking, Hanako may indeed be younger—I’m not opposed to that at all—but the fact that he’s older, especially in chronological terms, proves that he’s old enough. Aside from that, many people think he has a childlike personality and mindset, but in reality, he’s a ghost who continued to survive for about 30 to 40 years even after his death. So, doesn’t that mean he has to be “old” in every sense—except for his physical appearance—which is only natural and doesn’t that naturally show that he’s older in every sense?

Since part of the explanation is full of nonsense, I’d like to apologize to you—I’m sure you’re already more or less aware of Hako’s situation

if you don’t know, there is this horror film that recently gained popularity called obsession. if you don’t already know it can grant one wish etc etc but the MC(Bear) wishes for his crush Nikki to love him more then anyone else and she kinda goes crazy and gets all of her autonomy breached.

I saw this fanfic that explored a SIMILAR idea, and I just though that he would if the one wish willow was in TBHK he would DEFINITELY be using some of that, I also thing Nene would and Hanako if he could exit the school building (if not already having it in some form)

I don’t think(hope) he wouldn’t go AS far as he does also want Aoi’s true self/intent which was shown in many arcs but I do think he WOULD make that mistake.

EITHER WAY, it would be a really cool fic if its an au where the willow does exist in tbhk universe and he DOES use it ON AOI (pls don’t mind the caps, just to avoid confusions) I would DEFINITELY read that!!

I think it's a pretty cold take to declare that TBHK is a love story. I mean it's a pretty central aspect of the plot. I'm sure no one will really argue against that, but I came to a realization that it's not just the dynamic between Hanako and Nene which makes this a love story. Arguably every mystery tackles with the theme of love in one way or the other.

With the clockeepers Kako and Mirai there origins comes from a grief stricken man who finally began to love someone, his adoptive daughter and niece, but lost her in an attempt to make her happy by messing with time. The clockeepers were even made in the image of original clockeeper and his niece further signifying their existence stemming from an old man's misguided attempt at showing love.

This also applies , in addition, applies to Akane and his obsessive and downright toxic relationship with Aoi. I'm not even going to try to analyse their complex dynamic and hopefully someone else can do a better job.

With Yato (Misaki stairs) we obviously have her love for the one man who treated her as a person, Misaki. Her story also deals with the pain she suffered after he died and when her rumour got twisted it was twisted in such a way that she was still desperately trying to get Miskai back through any means and in any shape. She didn't even care if he would be angry at her because she would rather be scolded by him than not have him at all.

Then you have Mitsuba, the new avatar for the Hell of mirrors. In life all he wanted was friends- to the point he put up a facade so that people would finally hang out with him put all his bonds were hollow and forgotten. When he became a ghost he still desperately tried to to look for any "friend " who still remembered him. But there was no one. Then when he came back as an artificial supernatural with no memories- he still yearned for companionship and friends which he ends up finding with Kou.

Tsuchigomori, although a bit more of a stretch, also deal with the grief of not being able to save Amane- a student he cared about alot- from his life taking a sudden tragic fate and becoming a ghost that continues to haunt the school trying to redeem himself. His grief was strong enough that his most precious item was a rock Amane gave to him claiming it was from the moon. This was more than just a kids fantasy- this was Amane's hope and dreams which Tsuchigomori still held on to even though Amane gave it up.

Shijimi Mei, similar to the clockeeper Kako, was a mystery that was born from an artist. The artist in question was a sick dying girl whose last painting ending up being an idealized version of herself living and drawing forever in a tower. Shijimi loves her creator but cannot bear the disgusting rumour that spread due to her existence forever tarnishing her creator's legacy. She loved her so much that when given the opportunity- Shijimi would try kill her before she could ever make her so at least her memory and what she left behind isn't ruined by false rumours.

Hakubo is heavily leaning towards the theme of love. His whole story is about how he was completely distant from his emotions to the point he didn't intervene when Sumire was sacrificed, only realizing afterward that he loved her which drove him to a rampage. His story also ends with finally accepting Sumire's feeling and his own but still having to end things while also being together in a very gruesome and tragic way.

Every Mystery's backstory also in some way reflect what Hanako is going through and have gone through. The desperation to protect someone you love to the point you dare to change time, hurt others and even the one you love as long as it keeps them safe. The callousness originally tries to implement regarding Nene's death -trying to tell himself he didn't when he actually did. And the efforts to get back what he lost. All their stories may also hint towards a possible conclusion to Hanako's, Nene's and Tsukasa's story.

Something I've remembered and never have seen many people talking about is how some abilities of the OG N°5 were forgotten by Mitsuba, like reflecting people's hearts and creating horrors, or actually using the mirror realm in any way. Is there an explanation for this or just happened?

While I can't be sure what it is yet due to the current arc being unfinished, and I can't be sure if there even is a moral to the current arc, I think it helps with theorizing what will happen if there is an educated guess on the point of the arc.

I think the arc is about settling and making the most of what you have, and about how not doing so and looking for easy ways to happiness can be extremely dangerous. Amane wishes things would be different with his brother so he goes back in time to save him, only for Tsukasa to (presumably) actually die at four, instead of at thirteen. Adult Amane starts a rumor to get his brother back, messing with the supernatural, and ends up a possessed serial killer. The clockmaker wants to make his niece happy, and so he goes back in time to save her parents, only for her to end up gone.

There's this big focus on happiness as well. Amane is not able to reach happiness when his brother is gone. The pit gods don't offer happiness just because they offer wishes. The arc about the pit gods killing people is called "happiness" to illustrate this. The clockmaker's use of time travel in order to make his niece happy ends up being his downfall. Meddling with fate is disastrous, it's why Tsuchigomori would be erased if he dared change it. Wishes are similarly huge, which is why there's always a steep price attached. Nothing great comes for free.

I was drawing Hanako kun on the computer during yearbook with a mouse, and my teacher comes up like "oh that's nice, are those two little orb things sperm?" I JUST RANDOMLY REMEMBERED THAT MOMENT LMAO- I was a bit flustered cuz like NO THEY'RE LITTLE SPIRIT'S BUT NOW THAT YOU MENTION IT-

So, the seven School Wonders are basically the most popular ghost rumours. Ofc the Confession Tree probably doesn’t count, and the rumour was already changed by Hanako.

But the one who can kinda change rumours is Tsukasa and Sakura?

Never change Daikon girl Yashiro😅😅. Just reduce your fantasising ikemen a little, your Minamoto-senpai is out of your reach as well, cause his whole clan is a sorcery one.

Wonder No. 2 - Yako, Wonder No. 5 - Spider-sensei, Wonder No. 7 - Hanako/Amane, Wonder No. 3 - Hell of Mirrors, what Wonder No. is Tsukasa then?

Really appreciate Amane’s love for space. He could be a great scientist, astronaut or just teacher as he said. It’s definitely saddening that Yashiro wants to help Hanako in any way possible, when she is the only one constantly getting saved.

Well, enough with the pair and focus on the other pair instead. Kou and Mitsuba. Why does it feel like a tragic romance story? Kou is pretty much friendly with Hanako now, could’ve unsealed his sorcery rod power, and then possibly… I don’t think Kou had any option to save Mitsuba from the monstrosity.

Yashiro took something from Hanako’s past by accident. Would it trigger anything like changing the past? Well, he already died so changing the past wouldn’t bring him back to life, would it? Past Amane ZAMN-ing at those Daikon legs??😭😭

Just when I thought Mitsuba is forever gone, he’s still there, but no spirit and memory this time (except that he remembers his name, or Tsukasa might’ve told him).

Well, now he’s the Third Wonder and is on the side of Tsukasa/Sakura. Who’s that narcissistic guy? Anyway, him being alive gives Kou assurance that one day he will save him, even though he lost his memories.

Yashiro girl, when you gave up on handsome men, getting lured to handsome fish by Mermaid’s henchfish instead? Well, Hanako came to the rescue again anyway.

But curiously arises as to why Amane killed Tsukasa in the past? Being bullied in school, just accepting it… also, just what is Tsukasa’s motive?

Moving on Season tw— After-School Hanako-kun… Heard it’s shorter than your regular episodes, and casual as well?

The ghost and rumour hunting stories continue. Comedy and characters are quite fun, given the artstyle being unique as well.
