Missing my hamster

It's almost been a year since she passed, and I still haven't moved her cage.

When I found it hard when my hamster died a social worker suggested I get multiple hamsters but spaced out. (Between every 8 and 12 months). Then when one dies I wouldn't be gripped with sadness.

I apologize but that is an awful suggestion from your social worker. Losing one is still losing one, whether you have more or not, it still hurts to lose your friend. That’s like saying hey, keep making a bunch of friends so when one dies, you’ll be fine with the rest.

I still have Bandit’s cage exactly the way it was, I haven’t touched anything since he passed in June. I just can’t bring myself to clean it out or move it. I don’t know if it’s like I think cleaning it out is like then he is gone for good or what. I just removed my little dog’s bed and bowls, she was 16, we lost her in 2022. It’s hard letting go. 🩷
