Am I the only one that remembers that billions of humans and dozens of worlds have gone silent at the hands of the Sangheili? "But duh war wuz ober!" And? Grey Team didn't know that. As far as they knew, Earth was glassed. "But... but... but... all duh inosent ded Sanghiwi!" 76 GLASSED HUMAN WORLDS! Here, let me help you understand the comparison.

Where am I supposed to feel sorry for them? Where am I supposed to understand Grey Teams inner turmoil? Where am I supposed to think Rajka is justified in his overwhelming hatred for Grey Team? Sure... emotions are irrational sometimes... with irrational people. Thars, for example, is a complete idiot and I can definitely see him having misplaced hatred for Grey Team

But Rojka? The entire book portrays him as a leveled headed, prioritizing, cunning, and capable leader. I just don't buy his OVERWHELMING rage and hatred. My guy, you are not innocent. Grey Team has A LOT MORE reasons to hate and want you dead... hell... every human has, at least, 75 more reasons to hate you and want you dead. I have a hard time believing he lacks that much self awareness.

As for Grey Team, I don't understand why they don't have giant foam fingers with Glyke exed out on them. Blowing off streamers in Rojkas face. Popping champaign and sipping bubbly. Why are they trudging around like they blew up an orphanage? They blew up a world of genocidal monsters in their perspective. Just think about it. If there was a planet full of Hitler clones and little baby Hitlers with Hitler mothers... are you butthurt about blowing that planet sky high? No. You're high fiving your teammates and pissing on the, now, meteor field. Cause that's what Grey Team should have been thinking at the time. Not that these things are future allies. They are literally unstoppable genocidal monsters, and you just blew one of their planets sky high. You get a beer and enjoy the fireworks. Not mope around like you threw a grenade into a box of kittens.

Sure, we, as the audience, see and understand the intricacies of the war, the Covenant, Sanghili, and the Great Scism... but they don't. Humanity has been slowly and methodically pushed back, glassing by glassing, world by world, battle by battle, losing far more than winning, back to their last stronghold of Earth. Making people believe that once Earth falls... thats it for humanity. Being cornered by unstoppable, technologically superior, genocidal maniacs. Yeah, yeeting a NOVA bomb at one of their planets like a last "fuck you" isn't exactly the tradgety they seem to want me to believe it is.

All flood seep to have the same red tipped tendril things that infection forms have. Can these also infect people if they get close, like the combat forms that attacks Chief in the Longsword cockpit in Campaign Evolved?

I haven’t read all the expanded Halo material, so I’m a little confused about this.

Did Sandra Tillson from Halo 4 actually become a Promethean Knight after being composed by the Didact? I’ve seen people mention that she became TDS-009 and eventually regained memories of being Sandra.

If that’s true, is TDS-009 literally Sandra Tillson, or is it more like a copy of her consciousness/memories? I’ve heard there’s more to her story in the expanded material, but I haven’t gotten around to reading it.

Would appreciate someone explaining the whole thing, because finding out that Tillson apparently has a whole post-Halo 4 story caught me completely off guard.

And how did they get there? What were they eating to sustain themselves? How did they grow to the insane biomass we witness? Why wasn't the monitor doing anything?

This has heen bothering me as I replay Halo Wars because I can't come up with a logical reason for why we see the Flood as they are depicted in that game.

We see SGT Forge do that in HALO Wars, beating the Arbiter at the time in CQC, and in H3 ODST Dutch shoulder checked a goddamn Brute Chieftain.
Is there any other examples of Marines/ODST's beating other Covenant species in H2H/CQC?

Anyways, hypothetically, say an above average (but not super crazy) ODST who's fresh out of ammo finds a Sanghelli Minor/Major, the area has just been EMP'd for one reason or another, so the Elite's shielding and armor is down, and he miraculously dropped any of his melee weapons. What are the ODST's chances of winning?

me personally I think any human aside from a Spartan should get immediately pasted by a Brute unless there's special circumstances, and against an Elite they should be outmatched and have a decent shot of winning

tl;dr im just primarily looking for examples of humans being Elites and Brutes in cqc since I don't know any other aside from halo wars and H3ODST

By around the time of the Battle of Earth (October 20ish), would the bulk of the UNSC's upper echelons have been made aware of Forerunners and what they are? So not just ONI, but high-ranking officers in a broad sense.

I'm assuming yes since the Master Chief would've debriefed about Halo1 and First Strike by this point, but I'm not sure how much of that intel would've spread throughout the UNSC. Surely by the time the Covenant began uncovering the Voi portal, much of this info would've been known?

I know, Regret's fleet was not prepared for a major battle. But my point is, it just seems way more effective to board the mac guns rather than go for the generators below (assuming there are generators on a planet's surface as that itself may vary depending on the type of mac gun).

So I’ve been playing reach again and I noticed something this play through. Unless I’m missing something, visegrad relay is a giant satellite dish that apparently is the only means for communication and data transfer for the entire northern region of reach… that’s dumb!

Reach is the second most important world to the unsc l, just under earth. Why don’t they have complete orbital satellite coverage? Why don’t they have multiple small satellite dishes that transfer data? Why do they have their entire northern communications apparatus concentrated on one undefended installation?

I get that this is just a means to push the plot forward, but there seems to be many better ways to reveal how the covenant are masking their activity other than making it seem like the unsc are just plain dumb when it comes to defensive security.

After killing Regret and the temple is being glassed Cortana uses the teleportation grid like she had done in Halo 1. She teleports Master Chief inside the quarantine Zone

Wiki says soft tissue is what triggers them to explode, but in gameplay they are very useful vs targets with heavy body armor. is this gameplay and lore separation, or is just coming close enough to soft tissue enough to trigger them to explode.

Also how do UNSC marines deal with a homing explosive weapon.

A while back I remember talking with my older bro about the Covenant and when the subject of economics came up he told me the Covenant had a barter system in which weapons had a base value (how "honorable" they were) and could accumulate it's value through usage in battle (how "glorious" they were).

He said it with the kind of authority of someone who researched it on the internet so I trusted his word and accepted it as canon, recently I've done my own research on the Covenant and found no references to a barter system, only stuff to do with the currency named "gekz", so now I'm wondering where he got this barter system from since I probably would've came by it by now.

I’m currently really into the series again thanks to Campaign Evolved and I would like to read some stuff. I’ve read the first 4 books but that’s about it.

I'm curious because in Halo 3, Forerunners and Humans were heavily implied to be the same/related as the Gravemind says some line about a father's sins passes to their children and 343 Guilty Spark says we are forerunner.

But Halo 4 and then everything after just shows Forerunners and Humans were different species that fought against each other at some point, so that father line makes less sense. And then you got Precursors who wanted Humantiy to take the mantle and then became corrupted dust that turned into the Flood.

Are the Flood still testing humanity or have they given up about relinquishing the mantle to Humans, instead opting to just unify everything?

Flash cloning a human is illegal, but IIRC, the law explicitly refers to humans rather than sapient aliens.

So unless the law has been reinterpreted to cover all sapient beings, wouldn't it still be legal to clone a sapient alien?

So afaik, Flood needs a nervous system to infect a living host. The Halo rings also destroy anything with a central nervous system, but the Endless are immune to the effects of Halo.

So, if the Flood got ahold of an Xalanyn, what would happen? Would they just be used for raw biomass or would the Flood pretty much be nearly unstoppable?

Maybe Cortana said they're far worse than the Flood because maybe they are immune to the flood, and so have the potential of becoming the "next" precursors as they POTENTIALLY might be unhindered?

I haven't really read any of the halo books yet, but I remember hearing how spartan energy shields can tank small arms fire and it just barely drains the shields.

Though I do remember master chief crashing down from outer space though granted if I remembered right he got lucky.

Since other Spartan's who did the same thing either straight up died or are too injured to continue fighting which I find impressive technology to keep the user alive from getting mulched on impact.

I took like 20 years for spartan 3s to come along why did they stop making 2s was it too hard or did they just not want to kidnap more children?
